Tahir Raj Bhasin discusses the box office success of 83
At the box office, Ranveer Singh's 83 garnered a mediocre reception. Tahir Raj Bhasin, the film's star, has reacted to the film's low performance.

The box office performance of Ranveer Singh's 83, which was released in theaters on December 24th, was disappointing. Tahir Raj Bhasin, who plays Sunil Gavaskar in the sports drama, spoke exclusively to IndiaToday.in about the film's box office results. Tahir Bhasin's portrayal of cricket star Sunil Gavaskar in his recent movie, 83, has won over not just the crowd but also the critics. Though the picture was favorably regarded by reviewers, it did not perform well at the box office. According to sources, the film earned Rs 59.79-60.79 crores in its first five days of release.

83, directed by Kabir Khan, is a big-budget film, and the stats reveal that the sports drama, despite the buzz, strong word of mouth, and Christmas holidays, is underperforming. In an interview with IndiaToday.in, actor Tahir Raj Bhasin discussed the film's box office results, saying, "If you had asked me this question two years ago, I would have given you a totally different answer. We waited two years for it today. There were numerous opportunities for the film to be released on OTT, but we know the love and passion with which it was created, and today, the fact that the audience is going out and watching it on the big screen, and it is such a timeless piece of work, that I have a feeling that this film will become a classic over time."

He went on to say, "When you read the evaluations, you'll notice that it's been likened to Chak De and Lagaan. Films like these are made only once in a lifetime. I'm not looking at any of the items you mentioned right now. The satisfaction of being a part of this team and such a historic moment in cinema history is the best payoff for me."

83, directed by Kabir Khan, also stars Deepika Padukone as Dev's wife Romi Bhatia, Pankaj Tripathi, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, and others.
