Sanjay Dutt & Arshad Warsi – Something Beyond The Munnabhai Series

Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi have set new standards of comedy in the  Munnabhai series. The endearing Munnabhai-Circuit pair will now be seen together in another film apart from Raj Kumar Hirani’s Munnabhai Chale Amrika. The film will be directed by Rohit Shetty (of Golmaal fame) and is titled Johnny Johnny Yes Papa.

Interestingly, no leading lady will star opposite Sanjay in Johnny Johnny Yes Papa. The film will be a comedy on the lines of the much-loved Munnabhai series the latest of which has been postponed as the film’s director Raj Kumar Hirani is now busy with 3 Idiots.

A source close to Sanjay said, “Having resolved to give up always playing a gangster, Baba (as Sanjay is fondly called) wants to explore the goofy tragic-comic aspect of his personality that the two Munnabhai films tapped so effectively. Saurav Kabra’s EMI too carries the same image forward but into a different territory.

In fact, EMI’s producers Suniel Shetty and Ekta Kapoor are ardent fans of Sanju and they specially designed the character of Sattarbhai in EMI as a tribute to Sanju’s Munnabhai.”  Source
