Hrithik Roshan inaugurated a special Audiology and Speech therapy department at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai yesterday. The department is named after Hrithik’s grandmother Ira Roshan. Hrithik Roshan donated 20 lakh rupees towards the department renovation. The Hospital authorities stated that the center, built in memory of Hrithik Roshan’s grandmother Late Smt. Ira Roshan, has become a reality because of the support given by him to the Hospital.

Slumdog Millionare, a Hollywood production starring Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, directed by Danny Boyle of Trainspotting fame is being touted as a possible contender for the Oscars next year. The film is based Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup’s novel Q & A.

The movie has already won the people’s choice awards at the Toronto Film Festival.

Made with a modest budget of 15 million dollars, the film tells the gritty story of a slum dweller, who wins a TV game show – an indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Actor Anil Kapoor plays the TV show’s host and Dev Patel essays the role of the slum dweller. The movie also stars Irrfan Khan. Source

Katrina Kaif has spoken about the fight between her boyfriend Salman Khan and mega-star Shah Rukh Khan.

Talking to an Indian newspaper, the British babe says, “See, whatever happened was between the two of them. I wasn’t involved. Both have come out in the open and spoken about it to the media. But out at the end of the day, they’re senior professionals from the film industry and they have been around much longer than I have.”

Katrina made this statement amidst rumours that she has signed up for a Yash Raj film opposite Shah Rukh Khan. It means that Katrina has no problem in doing a film with Shahrukh Khan. Thats good going Kats. Source

Now he’s starring in ‘Delhi Belly’, director Abhinay Deo’s next film. He’s confirmed it, “I’ve always been impressed by his ads. When I heard he was making feature films I was keen to work with him.”

Now he has Rajiv Menon’s film who has earlier directed his wife Aishwarya in the Tamil film ‘Kandukondain Kandukondain’.

At the time of casting John Abraham for Dostana, the filmmaker Karan Johar told the actor, “What is attainable, is desirable. I want you to have the beachboy look, not a bodybuilder’s. People should gape when you walk out of the water.” John, who had lost 16 kilos for his role in the yet-to-be released Aashayein before that, took seven months to get into shape.

Well, the film is out and the results are there to see. People are saying, Daniel Craig coming out of the sea in Casino Royale wearing swimming trunks and little else has nothing on John doing the same in Dostana for Karan. I met the beachboy in his seashore penthouse at Bandra last week. It is like being in one of those October-to-May holiday shacks in Calangute.

Dil Kabaddi is on its way to theatre to bring some humour for the audiences. For the first time in this film, Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan have played the role of a married couple. A light-hearted comedy about urban relationships, Dil Kabaddi promises to take a humorous look at post-marital boredom, say the stars of this forthcoming film.
While Irrfan Khan has been paired with Soha Ali Khan here, Rahul Bose and Konkona Sen Sharma play the second couple. In the film, both married men are tempted to have affairs just to add some excitement in their dull lives. Irrfan, who plays a banker in the film, says he agreed to be in the film because he sensed a fresh approach in the writing.

Soha Ali Khan has been cast in Dil Kabaddi as a cosmetic surgeon with a compulsive cleanliness disorder, is excited about the varied palette of projects she has lined up in the pipeline. “I am really excited about the next film I am doing as it is a love story because I haven’t done anything like that. I am personally excited about the horror film I am doing. I am playing a sort of a supernatural kind of character who does yoga but in terms of profession perhaps i would like to do a legal drama that would be interesting,” says excited Soha. Source

Aamir Khan has worked a lot to get that perfect eight packs look for Ghajini . Unfortunately he will not flaunt his same muscular body in Raj Kumar Hirani’s Three Idiots . 3 Idiots is a book adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s best selling novel, Five Point Someone in which Aamir plays a character named Ryan. According to a unit hand, Aamir’s character is that of a handsome and adventurous guy. He plays a guy who loves his friends more than his parents. He does everything apart from studies. He wants to do things in his own way.

Though Hirani has adapted this film from Chetan Bhagat’s book, Aamir said, “The starting point is the book. But Raju has made lot of changes in the script.” And to match Ryan’s character Aamir had been suggested to lose his much talked about Ghajini look as it wasn’t apt for Ryan’s character. Aamir will sport a rather look lean look in the film. Thus Aamir has got some relief from his heavy workouts.

That’s about his onscreen avatar, but we have also heard that he has changed a lot off-screen too. Apparently Aamir who was infamous for giving a tough time to his directors by his interference, has changed his off screen attitude. According to a unit hand this is so unlike Aamir as he is not at all interfering on the set. He doesn’t give his inputs to Hirani. He rather prefers to concentrate on his character more than bothering about other things on the set. Source

In an interview, Daniel, who has played the agent 007 in ‘Casino Royale’ and ‘Quantum of Solace’, admitted that Shilpa has all that it takes to be a Bond girl.

“She has a killing figure, just right for a Bond girl”, said Craig. In fact, Shilpa has actually been considered for the part of the Bond girl in the past, but the deal never materialized for the reasons unknown.

Even back home in Bollywood, Shilpa is undisputedly considered the actress with the best bod. She was an obvious choice for Karan Johar when he wanted to shoot a beach-cum-item song for his film Dostana .

When Daniel Craig was asked about his acquaintance with any Indian stars, he said he knows only Shilpa Shetty. Later, he added: “She is beautiful and very talented too. I think she looks great”.

Once again Bipasha Basu has proved, that she is the real crowd puller. All this while, everybody was talking about Katrina Kaif dancing at JW Marriott on New Year’s Eve and getting a crore to do that.

Well, Bipasha seems to have bettered that. She has pipped Katrina, by grabbing an offer of Rs 1.5 crore to dance at Sahara Star. Last year, the actress had charged Rs 90 lakh for a 30 minute performance at Marriott and this year Katrina is doing the same for a crore. But Bipasha has raced ahead of her and will be receiving much more for her performance.

The actress is in the process of finalizing her act i.e. the songs, costumes, etc. Understandably, she is quite thrilled about the offer as it will round off, what has and been an extremely good year for her. Sanjay Dutt would like nothing better than to carry on Munnabhai’s legacy in some form or another and that too with his own production house taking off . He’s now producing Subah Ho Gayi Mamu with Vidya Balan which more or less continues where Lage Raho Munnabhai let off. The title of the film, you remember, is the whacky wake-up call in Munnabhai MBBS . And the film is to be directed by Ajay Chandok.

Confirming the news, Dharam Oberoi, the production house CEO, said, “Dutt is keen on signing on Vidya. He feels they complement each other perfectly.” But it remains to be seen whether the Munnabhai magic can be recreated without Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raj Kumar Hirani, both of whom are busy making other films and have yet to consider the third installment of their popular comedy, Munnabhai Chale Amrika .

Said a source, “Dutt knows that Munnabhai is the brand name he’s identified with. Which could fade away if not taken further.” For Vidya, the film will prove to be a kind of ‘kismat connection’. Source

John Abraham has been replaced in director Anthony D’Souza’s action adventure Blue by Zayed Khan. Zayed plays a flamboyant youngster who lives in Bangkok. He gets into trouble and escapes from there to the Bahamas to meet the other two lead characters played by Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar. The film also stars Lara Dutta, Kartina Kaif and Rahul Dev.

Commenting on Sanjay and Akshay’s presence in the film, D’Souza said, “I feel extremely fortunate to have them in the film. I had both the actors in mind while scripting the film. When the producer asked me, I told him and I am glad we have them.”

D’Souza says he hadn’t signed on the two because of their star value. “More than stars, I think Akshay and Sanjay are great actors. In spite of being a big star, Akshay puts in tremendous hard work and dedication to his work. He often would reach the sets before me. And Sanjay’s experience helped me a lot. I have learnt so much from him.”

Blue is said to be the costliest Bollywood film till date – it is being made at a whopping Rs 1,290 million, but the director wants it to be called a good film than a big-budget film. Source
