Kangana Ranaut To Play Madhubala Of Mumbai

The most sexiest diva Kangana Ranaut is set to play the legendary Madhubala in a film titled “Once Upon A Time in”, but she says looking as beautiful as the late actress is a challenge.

“I’ve never thought of myself as beautiful. In fact, I’ve always suffered from low self-esteem. Till recently I’d look at my pictures and cringe. I still have the pictures from my first portfolio I got done in Chandigarh. They remind me of how ugly I can look. And to now play Madhubala in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’ - how will I do it?” Kangana said.

Set in Mumbai, “Once Upon a Time” is about Madhubala who was said to be the love interest of the 1960s underworld don Haji Mastan. While Kangana plays Madhubala, Ajay Devgan will essay the role of Haji Mastan in the movie being produced by Ekta Kapoor.

Milan Luthria, who has directed films like “Taxi No. 9211″ and “Hattrick”, wields the megaphone for the movie. Full News

R. Madhavan - Riding On Other Actor’s Luck

Actor R. Madhavan, who appeared on the silver screen after a long time in recently released horror film ‘13B’, doesn’t mind doing multi-starrer Hindi films.

Madhavan shot to fame in Bollywood with his debut movie ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ (2001) and after that he was seen in solo lead in ‘Ramji Londonwaley’ (2005).
‘Solo leads were not in style after ‘Rehnaa Hai…’ or ‘Ramji Londonwaley’. And despite being multi-starrers, all my films have done very well both commercially and critically whether it is ‘Rang De Basanti’ or ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ for that matter,’ Madhavan told. Seems that the luck of other stars is more good for him than his own. Source

Shilpa Shetty - Wedding Bells To Ring This Year

The sizzling diva Shilpa Shetty will probably tie the knot with beau Raj Kundra in October this year. The couple have set a tentative date in October and plan to have a traditional ceremony in India, the source said.

“I have very traditional views of marriage. I’ve seen my parents maintain a 35-year marriage and I really believe marriages are made in heaven. I’ve always said that the day I decide to tie the knot it is going to be for good,” Shilpa said.

“I have often wondered who the right person would be and I’ve come to realise that for me it is Raj. I’m completely sure he is my soul mate,” she added. Kundra seems as excited about the prospect of marriage as Shilpa.

“I have spoken to Shilpa’s parents and we are doing it the Indian way. In India, you don’t get engaged until just before the wedding, so I didn’t go down on one knee to her or anything like that. But we have definitely set a date for this year,” Raj said. Source

Saif Ali Khan Was Replaced By Shahid Kapur

It would have broken Saif Ali Khan’s heart when Vishal Bharadwaj, after speaking to him about the lead role in Kaminey, eventually sent the role in Shahid Kapur’s direction. The director-actor duo shared a good rapport after the success of Omkara which gave Saif one of his career-best performances. Thus, when Saif heard about the role, he was raring to go. After all, who would say no to a maker of Vishal’s calibre?

However, a strict believer in the division of personal and professional, Vishal eventually went with the better choice for his script. Why Shahid, you ask? Well it is believed that the role required a young actor and the challenge of turning a chocolate boy into what you see now in the promos was something that attracted Vishal instantly!

Well if Kaminey does anything similar to Shahid’s career to what Omkara did for Saif Ali Khan, Shahid will be a golden boy in no time! Only time will tell whether Vishal’s choice was a wise one or not. Source

The Barbie Doll In Katrina Kaif Is Here At The Lakme Fashion Week

There could not have been a better opening of the Fall/Winter 2009 Lakme Fashion Week than the spectacular “Barbie All Doll’d Up” show that rocked the ramp. It was the winning dress by Nishka Lulla that Bollywood’s glamorous star Katrina Kaif modeled as the show stopper of the day. Katrina Kaif will be the Indian celebrity on whose likeness a Barbie doll will be created by Mattel Toys India Pvt. Ltd.

The Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai with the extra long ramp was dressed in hundreds of metres of the characteristic Barbie pink silk with the famed Barbie logo all around. The venue almost resembled Barbie’s pretty house and it was a place where a girl of any age would have loved to be.
Katrina Kaif radiantly glided down the ramp in Nishka Lulla’s award winning red shaded tiered mini with a brocade bodice clasped with a giant gold bow at the back.

It was a show that was full of glitz, glamour, style and elegance and there couldn’t have been a better way to start the Fall/Winter 2009 season at Lakme Fashion Week then with “Barbie all Doll’d Up”! Source

Aishwarya Rai Refuses To Be The Barbie Doll Face

Aishwarya Rai has declined to be immortalised as a Barbie doll, due to her professional commitments. Since 1994 when Aishwarya won the Miss World title, the Barbie’s manufacturer Mattel has made numerous attempts to make a celebrity doll modelled on the Indian beauty. However, she could never get time for their endeavour, due to her professional commitments, she said.

Yet again on the doll’s 50th anniversary, Aishwarya was approached to appear decked up as a celebrity Barbie.

“Mattel was keen to have the actress walk the ramp on Lakme Fashion Week ‘Barbie dolled up’ in a winning design as Single Likeness Barbie, which would be unveiled and auctioned for a charity of her choice,” said a statement issued by Aishwarya’s spokesperson.  However, the actress opted out due to her prior commitments as she did not want to cause inconvenience to the film-makers she was working with by taking time out for the event. Tabu - Hand In Hand With Boyfriend Nagarjuna

It was the first day of the fashion extravaganza, The Lakme Fashion India Week. After all the glitters, all hell broke loose when the svelte Tabu walked in almost hand in hand with her ‘lover’ Nagarjuna.

While the whole world has been in the know about her relationship with the South star, Tabu has always been rather cold to the point of being rude to the media when it came to her beau.

Both Tabu and Nagarjuna were extremely rude to the media and refused to give any soundbytes. They were at the WFW for Asmita Marwah’s show. Source

Divya Dutta - Doing The Lesbian Act

Divya Dutta who had played decent roles in the past suddenly decided to glam up in ‘You, Me aur Hum’. More recently in ‘Delhi 6’ she played the interesting character of ‘Jalebi’. Now she’s cozying up to a female actor on screen in the film ‘Monica’ and is taking the challenge head on. The movie is about two struggling and vulnerable women who find solace in each other.

Before Divya many actresses had turned it down simply because they did not want to do the lesbian scene. In the past only actresses like Nandita Das and Shabana Azmi in ‘Fire’ and Amrita Arora and Isha Koppikar in ‘Girlfriend’ have shown some guts.

By the way, it wasn’t all that easy for Divya too as she was initially at a loss when she was told that she has a lesbian scene with co-star Kitu Gidwani. But like a true blue professional she decided to do the scene. The actress told that she approached the scene very professionally and discussed it with Kitu  before the shoot. She really prepared herself mentally too for the same. Source
