Akshay Tops The List Of Bollywood Tax Payers

Akshay Kumar has topped a new list. Akshay Kumar is now the top taxpayer in Bollywood for the year 2008-09. Having crossed Rs 100 crores as his total earnings for the last financial year – Akshay has apparently paid a total advance tax of Rs 31 crores. Quite a hike considering he paid only Rs 12.5 crore in 2007.

In second place is Shah Rukh Khan who may be breathing a sigh of relief? Khan’s tax payout declined marginally this year to Rs 30.9 crore a 1.7% decrease when compared to the Rs 31.5 crore shell out he done in 2007.

Bollywood’s loved up jodi also featured on the top ten list. Saif Ali Khan paid Rs 8.63 crore and Kareena Kapoor paid out Rs 3.7 crore of her earnings.

A third Khan also featured in the list. You guessed it - Salman Khan. This Khan’s earnings grew 107.41% more than last year. This has placed him directly behind Kumar in terms of growth. Positive news for this particular Khan I guess.

Bachchan Bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan featured in 6th place on the list having paid an advance that was higher than the in-laws. And how much did they pay? I hear you ask – Well Papa Bachchan made it to number 10 with a humble offering of Rs 1.25 crore. Source
