As we all know that after Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham the trio of Shah Rukh, Kajol & Karan are back once again with My Name Is Khan. Kajol is excited as she is back with a film after a two year gap. Her last was her home production U Me Aur Hum. But the actress says working with Shah Rukh is a bad habit. “Once you work with him you are spoilt. When a lot of people saw Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge they believed in us. It has set the standard for us. When you will watch this film too you will think of nothing but of Rizwan Khan played by Shah Rukh. The film is a humanitarian tale of love and sacrifice. It’s about triumph of human emotion.”

Kajol feels that nothing has changed in Shah Rukh, “Except for his six pack abs which he didn’t have during the making of Dilwale Dulhaniya.” But goes on to add further, “We have worked hard on this film and it has been an intense experience to go through it. I think Karan’s films completes us. I have worked with him earlier right from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Kabhi Khush Kabhi Gham and every time it is a new and exciting experience for me and Shah Rukh together.” Source

Media reports even convey that Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ apparently has Sonam Kapoor; the role which could have been Kat’s as Akki is the hero. In fact, Akshay Kumar, who has delivered a series of successful movies with Katrina, presumably wants to be seen opposite fresh faces.

For Kat, 2009 was an eventful one: she tasted success with new actors like Ranbir Kapoor but her film with Akki failed at the box office.

At Star Plus’ Jashn 2010 – Dhamaka Naye Saal Ka when director and friend Karan Johar offered Shah Rukh Khan to be a part of Dostana Part 2, King Khan immediately turned down the offer and said that after sporting a six-pack he would not like to spoil his image of a macho man.

He added though that, on any given day, he would love to flirt with Abhishek Bachhan and John Abraham, but still not at the cost of his “straight” image. We wonder what wife Aishwarya Rai Bachhan has to say to this who was present right there!!  Source

Sussanne Roshan is getting increasingly worried about Hrithik’s roving eye. After his link up with Barbara Mori, Sussanne is leaving no chance to protect Hrithik from his leading ladies.

Now, the love making scene in Guzaarish is her latest worry. Though, the director of the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, wanted Hrithik to spend some quality time with Monikangana Dutta in order to make the lovemaking scene an easy affair, but Sussanne is not ready to accept this idea.

The sizzling beauty Deepika Padukone is on cloud nine these days. Last night, she was the privileged Bollywood personality to have dinner with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and 20 cabinet ministers at the PM’s residence at 10 Janpath, in Delhi. The dinner was organised in honour of Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama and his wife Miyuki Hatoyama, who are currently on a visit to India.
 
The Japanese PM and his wife are huge Bollywood fans and expressed their desire to meet Deepika. They loved her in her debut film, Om Shanti Om (2007).

When Deepika got a call from the PM’s office asking her if she would like to attend the dinner, she immediately agreed. Pleased as punch, she even took a day off from the shooting of Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se in Goa to make it for the dinner. She wore a saree by Manish Malhotra for the occasion. We spoke to Deepika before the dinner. She said, “It is a privilege and honour for me to be invited for this dinner. I am excited and nervous at the same time.” Source

Aamir Khan made a hat-trick with his third Christmas release in a row 3 Idiots after, Taare Zameen Par (2007) and Ghajini (2008) has brought huge cheer to the box office. Breaking his own film Ghajini’s record, 3 Idiots is fast racing to be amongst the biggest blockbusters of all times.

Trade sources state, “3 Idiots has set a new record for Paid preview shows by grossing Rs. 2.25 crore nett. The previous record holder Ghajini did a business of Rs. 1.75 crore net. The reports are very good and the film is a winner all the way and just remains to be seen if it can do blockbuster business. Three Idiots has hit the box office like a hurricane and has smashed many first day records at the box office

The first day business was an unimaginable Rs. 12.75 crore nett. The previous record for the first Friday was Rs. 9.25 crore nett recorded by Ghajini last December.” Another trade pundit however adds, “It must also be noted that the 3 Idiots first day was a Christmas Day holiday while Ghajini first Friday was a normal day but even accounting for that, it is still a phenomenal collection.

This takes the 3 Idiots total to 15.50 crore nett with paid previews (2.75 crore nett) and the weekend seems to be heading for 37-39 crore nett collections which is truly mind boggling.” Source

The Kapoor guy Ranbir Kapoor is being tipped by producers as being the hottest likely star for 2010. The likeable young man is said to have been offered a 50cr contract by UTV. “UTV is very happy with the way Ranbir’s Wake Up Sid fared at the box office,” said a source, “His forthcoming movie Rajneeti is also with UTV and the producers have taken a liking to this young actor whom they dub as the Next Big Thing in Bollywood. So they have offered him a three-film deal worth Rs50 crore which he has apparently signed.”

Ranbir is currently filming in the US with co-star Priyanka Chopra for Anjaana Anjaani, which seems destined to be another hit romantic comedy. There is quite a long filming schedule ahead for the stars in New York.

Now officially single, Ranbir had a strange experience recently when out dining with Imran Khan. At this point, he still hadn’t shaved off his Rocket Singh beard. A precocious young woman came into the restaurant and recognising Imran immediately rushed over to his table, demanding that Ranbir, whom she didn’t recognise, take photos of her with Imran. She then returned to her table, not giving a moment‘s thought to the bearded one she‘d left behind. When her friend pointed out that the bearded guy was in fact Ranbir Kapoor, she then rushed back to the table apologising profusely and then demanded that Imran take photos of her with Ranbir. The latest hottie diva Rani Mukherjee collected her trophy at the V Shantaram Awards ceremony held in honour of the late great film-maker, responsible for many significant films of the golden era of the 1950s including the classic Do Aankhen Barah Haath. Rani’s award was in recognition of her performance in Dil Bole Hadippa. “This feels great because getting a V. Shantaram award means a lot to me,” she said, “We all know that we are the unfortunate ones who were not born in his era and didn’t get an opportunity to work with him.”

Prakash Raj won the Best Male Actor Award for his role in Kanchivaram, a gripping tale of poverty in India near the end of British colonial rule and the political forces that will help to shape India’s destiny. The film was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008 and has gone on to win several awards. It co-stars Shriya Reddy. Kanchivaram also won the Best Film Gold Award.

The Marathi film Gabhricha Paus won the Silver Award. The film highlights the plight of farmers in drought-stricken Maharashtra leading to high rates of suicide as they struggle against environmental change and the lack of any coherent government strategy for agricultural support. The film stars Sonali Kulkarni.

On the 50th anniversary of her ht musical Navrang, Sandhya picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award. Sandhya was the third wife of the late film-maker V Shantaram. Source

The Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi Akshay Kumar did more than cause a stampede in Toronto where he went last week to be be the Indian torch bearer for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The action star, who intends to auction the torch and give the proceeds to the Special Olympics, was subsequently invited to television studios to be on one of Canada’s most powerful and influential talk shows – The Hour.

Aired every night, The Hour covers politics, the arts, entertainment, the environment, human rights, sports and more. Its host, George Stroumboulopoulos, is one of the most respected journalists in Canada and has interviewed many of the most influential and recognised people in the world from heads of state to rock stars.

Naturally, Akshay with his huge fan following in Canada was the perfect choice as subject on the show that earlier featured Hollywood actors Matt Damon, Samuel L. Jackson, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Cruise. The Khiladi is not saying what Stroumboulopoulos asked him, but the TV host is known more for flamboyance than any cut-and-thrust on air. Source

Dostana 2 is making a huge sound even before its start. The romantic-comedy will be starting on its shooting schedule from May coming year. Although the sequel will carry Abhishek Bachchan-John Abraham jodi from the original, like we had it earlier, the film will now have Katrina Kaif instead of Priyanka Chopra.

Bobby Deol had won over Piggy Chops in Dostana and naturally the lady wouldn’t be there in the second version. But that didn’t stop Priyanka from knowing what’s happening in Dostana 2. When she learnt that Katrina has been offered the film she said that Kat is a lucky girl and truly fortunate if she is part of the film. “I have heard the script of the sequel from Tarun Mansukhani and let me tell you it is a fabulous script. The leading lady has a lot of scope,” quoted PC.

The perfectionist Aamir Khan made 24 friends during his two-week promotional tour across the country and has invited them all to attend the premiere of his film ’3 Idiots’ here Wednesday. ‘Wherever I went, I made friends and I have invited them. All of them will surely come to the premiere,’ said Aamir told reporters at Taj Lands End here.

‘There are 24 people whom I have invited personally. They are those people whom I met in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Punjab. They are my guests,’ said Aamir.

‘In Tamil Nadu, a girl could recognise me through my disguise and she tried convincing her parents that I was Aamir. They didn’t know that my security people were standing behind them in plain clothes. They started approaching me to confirm, but I called the security to stop them. The security people came and diverted their way, but they confirmed to the family that I was Aamir and would speak to them later,’ said Aamir. Asked if she was invited to the premiere, he said: ‘No I didn’t invite her because I didn’t speak to her. I have only invited whom I met and made friends with.’ More
