Can you recall from the recent past the loud and scene stealing Beena Kak from Maine Pyaar Kun Kiya who played Salman’s mom who also happens to be the Rajasthan Tourism Minister and a very close family friend of Salman’s. The Kaks and Salman are almost family and no one had doubts about this when they saw Salman dancing away in the Baraat of Beena’s son Ankur.

However, now Salman is playing the ideal older bro to Beena’s daughter Amrita who is all set to get married this summer to a boy who’s been chosen by none other than brother Sallu! It seems that Salman took it upon himself to settle Amrita up with a nice boy and has now fulfilled his promise.

Salman also gave Amrita her first break as a playback singer as the female voice in ‘Just Chill’ (Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya) and ‘Tujhe Aqsa Beach Ghuma Doon’ (God Tussi Great Ho). In addition, Beena has had the full support of Salman for the state elections.

Ranbir Kapoor is feeling the absence of his lady love a lot these days. He has been frantically sms-ing Deepika from the US where he’s shooting, saying that he wants her back in his life.

A friend of Deepika says her dignity dissuades her from talking about her past, there’s a distinct possibility of they getting back together. She adds it was Ranbir who told Deepika that the relationship was off. She took it on her chin and moved on, keeping the hurt to herself. But the minute Ranbir heard about rumours linking her to Shahid Kapoor, he started sms-ing Deepika and their mutual friends, asking if the rumours were true.

Shahid, on the other hand, has been mulling over other matters. His relationship with Priyanka Chopra ended on a rocky note a few days before Christmas last year but both are trying to connect to each other.

Yes, Salman broke the promise given to Hijra guru and social activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi of lending his gracious presence as one of the jury members of Indian Super Queen, a beauty pageant for Hijra community.

Laxmi Narayan Tripathi fumed and sarcastically remarked without taking any names, “I don’t understand why celebrities have to make false promises when they don’t mean a word. It’s disheartening to know- celebrities find ‘cycling race’ more important than something which is so socially relevant.” Laxmi surely pointed towards the superstar, for Salman was reportedly present at a cycling race earlier.

Laxmi came up with these words soon after ever-beautiful Zeenat Aman exclaimed that she couldn’t refuse Laxmi after the latter invited her to be one of the jury members in such a historical and socially relevant occasion.

Last week Karan Johar played the catalyst, making Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor not only acknowledge each other’s presence but actually strike up a conversation, and a pretty warm one at that. The venue for this patch up was Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, Mannat, where King Khan had hosted a celebration for My Name Is Khan. Says a source, “Shahid and Kareena came face to face and everyone thought they would simply ignore each other like they have on so many occasions in the past. But this time, Karan happened to be present right there and instead of marching past each other, they slowed down for a bit. And the rest, as they say, is history.”

Even after the ice was broken, neither Shahid or Kareena seemed in a rush to get back to more comfortable company. They had a pretty warm exchange and a little later even Saif, who was present at the party, joined them.

“Shahid and Kareena have finally decided to leave their acrimonious past behind them. This was very evident in the manner all three of them – Shahid, Kareena and Saif – interacted with each other at Shah Rukh’s party,” adds our source. While both Shahid and Kareena could not be reached for comment, Kareena’s official spokesperson said, “Kareena has no problem with anybody, including Shahid.” For the record, Shahid and Kareena, who were in a serious relationship for three years, parted ways in 2007, a few days before Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met hit the theatres.  Source

The starson Ranbir Kapoor won’t have to learn sign language from scratch for his role as a deaf and mute character in Anurag Basu’s film. The actor, who assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Black, spent ample time with Ayesha Kapoor and Rani Mukerji when they were being trained on the sets by a teacher for the physically disabled. He had also visited several institutions for the hearing and speech impaired to research on ‘Black’.

The real challenge now lies in creating a musical score that would amply express the simmering discontent behind Ranbir’s silence in the film. Quite like what Laxmikant-Pyarelal did for Jaya Prada in the 1970s in Sargam, which coincidentally starred Ranbir’s father Rishi Kapoor. While filmmakers Bhansali and Gulzar have made songless films like Black and respectively about deaf and mute protagonists, Anurag Basu is going the other way with a full-on musical to bring out his deaf and mute hero’s emotions and feelings.

Consequently, music director Pritam Chakraborty is a worried man as he now faces the biggest challenge of his career in friend Anurag Basu’s new film starring Ranbir. Incidentally, the director and composer live in the same building. More

Our reliable sources reveal that during the shooting of Kookie Gulati’s ‘Prince’, actor Vivek Oberoi came close to his leading lady Aruna Shields and the crew members are the witness of their closeness. They got closer after an intimate kissing scene. After the shot, the intimacy between them got stronger and they were very often spotted on and off the set.

Vivek Oberoi’s closeness was also seen with another co-star Neeru Bajwa but he was more intimate with Aruna.

Aruna hails from the UK and after the film shoot, she retuned to UK. But news is that she will be back once the film release date draws near. Now only after her return, we will able to judge how  strong Vivek-Aruna’s bond is. Source

The bollywood fortune teller says that Barbara Mori and Hrithik Roshan will be seen at the monument of love Taj Mahal in Agra in March. The prophecy also says that they obviously will be seen together, very much in love.

Shah Rukh Khan was her first co-star in Om Shanti Om,  but it is actor Salman Khan, who is on the wish list of Deepika Padukone. “I am really looking forward to work with Salman,” Deepika told.

“In fact we were supposed to be paired up much earlier but then a couple of films didn’t quite work out. That’s sad but I am sure that in near future, we would be paired opposite each other,” said the actress, who will next be seen with Farhan Akhtar in Karthik Calling Karthik.

While Deepika’s track record shows that she has been enjoying a release once every six months ever since the release of Om Shanti Om, the frequency is all set to increase in the coming months. Soon after Karthik Calling Karthik (February), Deepika would be seen in Housefull (April). Either Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se or her film with Neil Nitin Mukesh would be her next release thereafter. Earlier we had reported that Ash has had to delay pregnancy plans because of her ailment, but the Bachchans have rubbished reports that Aishwarya Rai is under treatment for stomach tuberculosis.

“I am completely shocked, appalled and extremely upset with the contents of the article. It is fabricated and false,” Aishwarya said in a letter to the paper. On Twitter, Abhishek Bachchan said the media had crossed a line this time.

“You want to write and malign me or my father, I will take it. But the ladies of my home are off limits! They’ve gone too far this time….. I have never reacted to all the fabricated stories written by the media about me and my own. BUT THIS IS THE LIMIT!!!”

“As a husband and a man I’m shocked that one can talk so irresponsibly about a woman, that too…falsely!! On a personal note, as a husband I will not stand for such rubbish being written about my wife,” Abhishek wrote on his Twitter handle @juniorbachchan. More

Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor paid their tributes to the victims, who lost their lives in the February 13 blast, by taking part in a candlelight vigil in the vicinity of German Bakery. President of Indian Olympic Association Suresh Kalmadi also joined them in the candlelight prayers along with over hundreds of locals.

Sonam Kapoor said, “We should just believe in hope and trust and love and that“s all is going to get us through to everything.”

German Bakery, the target of the attack, is located in the posh neighbourhood of Koregaon Park, close to the Osho Ashram and Chabad House, a Jewish prayer house. A number of foreigners and tourists including Jews frequent both these places.

The blast that ripped the German Bakery claimed 13 lives so far and left around 57 others injured. Source

“We come from similar backgrounds,” states Lara in a media chat, “Like me, Deepika too was a model in Bangalore, so that was the common factor.” Jiah, they aver, is the baby, and the duo are usually busy mollycoddling the saucy Khan.

According to our trusted sources, the main reason why Aishwarya Rai Bachchan cannot conceive is because of the fact that the Bachchan bahu is suffering from stomach tuberculosis for a while.

It is a well known fact that the Bachchans are keenly looking forward to their heir apparent for the family but Ash’s bad health has dampened the plans for some time.

Aishwarya, who is running in her 37th year is waiting for her good health to come back before she plans a family. On the other hand, the official stand on Bachchans regarding Ash’s pregnancy is “when-it-happens-it will happen”.
