The sizzling actress Katrina Kaif is astonished at some of the extrapolations being made over a simple meet-and-greet with Shah Rukh Khan. “Just because you meet and greet someone doesn’t mean there has to be speculation on what’s going on,” she says, “There’s nothing to be made out of my meeting with Shah Rukh. He’s just an acquaintance.”

Katrina is becoming increasingly frustrated with the media trying to drum up negative stories suggesting conflict between her and other actors. Struggling to recover from an appendix operation, she fears all the negativity is harming her health. “Actors, who invest a lot of time and energy, will never put down each other,” she explains, “Every one of us has their own space in the industry. These stories are either publicity mechanisms or someone just writes them to create a controversy.”

Katrina will be joined by Ranbir Kapoor on a tour of Indian cities in April to promote their movie Raajneeti. They will be joined by populist politician Rahul Gandhi who will focus on the role that youth can play in politics. “We’ve chosen eight cities and as many colleges,” says producer Prakash Jha,”Yes, Ranbir and Katrina would be part of debates on politics and youth as part of the whole endeavour to take Raajneeti beyond the portals of entertainment. Today’s political icon is no longer a 70-something veteran politician. It’s Rahul Gandhi and my stars will be addressing generations who understand the language of Rahul’s politics.” Source

Salman Khan who is often in news for infamous reasons, has not only churned fodder for gossipmongers but also for filmmakers. And believe it or not, producer Ranjit Sharma is all set to reprise the darkest days of Sallu’s life onscreen by making a film on the time that the superstar spent behind the bars in the notorious Chinkara case during 1996 and 1998. What’s even more interesting is the fact that Salman’s former cellmate, Mahesh Kumar Saini, has teamed up with Sharma for the film.

Titled ‘Qaidi No 210’, the film is set to give hands on account of the tough time the actor faced in prison. Sources state that Mahesh and Salman struck up something of a friendship in the three days they spent together in Jodhpur Central jail in 1996.

And when Ranjit Sharma, the producer of ‘Qaidi No 210’, was introduced to Saini by the jailor, he had decided to take him on board for his research on the actor. More

Q: Please tell us about your character in ‘Hum Tum Aur Ghost’?

Dia: My character in the film is very special. I am playing a high profile fashion editor named ‘Gehna’. She is a very practical woman and she is madly in love with Armaan – that’s the character played by Arshaad Warsi in the film. ‘Gehna’ has all the shades of a woman – she is jealous, naughty, adorable and giving. She is blindly in love and ready to make compromises for her lover. More

“The film is targeted at kids and young adults and hence it was imperative that we bring on enough funny moments that would keep them engaged. For that, we worked a lot on Jackie’s character and one such quality about this character is that she carries her own spacecraft wherever she travels. It does come in handy for her and while her friends on Earth, most notably Riteish Deshmukh, are quite baffled by how she makes it possible, it is this nice little trick that she has up her sleeves that makes it really work for her”, explains Milap. Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who has replaced superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the brand ambassador of Pepsi and actor Hritik Roshan in ITC’s John Players, feels obliged to get the opportunity to take forward their legacy.

‘As far as replacement is concern, Shah Rukh Khan is a legend and his contribution to Pepsi was immense. I am taking forward his legacy. As far as John Players is concerned, Hritik Roshan is a style icon for whom I have immense respect. I believe that I am fortunate enough to get a chance to take his legacy forward,’ Ranbir told reporters after the logo launch of John Players at ITC Hotel here today.

Ranbir maintains that comfort should be the primary criteria while choosing clothes. ‘It’s not about wearing expensive or brands. It’s something that makes you feel comfortable. There are no strict rules. It’s about what you want to wear and how you carry it,’ said Ranbir.  ‘I am not brand conscious at all. I don’t understand fashion. God has been very kind to me that I could sign up with this brand and I hope my knowledge on fashion increases,’ said Ranbir.  As most actors do, Ranbir would try to endorse this brand in his films as well. Its unbelievable but on Wednesday morning disaster struck on the sets of Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan when the leading lady Katrina Kaif collapsed just before shooting for a very important scene was supposed to start. While Katrina remained unavailable for comment, reliable reports from the location at Malshej Ghat say the incident happened when the actor was getting ready for the day. “She had barely finished makeup and walked on to the location, greeted her co-star Akshay Kumar and director Farah Khan when she collapsed in a heap…just like that!” For the next three hours, panic prevailed on location.

Says the source, “No one knew quite what to do since the medical facilities in Malshej were hardly adequate. Akshay quickly called up Mumbai and a doctor was rushed to Malshej. By the time he arrived, Katrina was feeling better, though weak. Farah suggested they cancel her shooting for the day, but Katrina insisted on shooting in the second-half of the day’s schedule.”

The reason given by the doctor for her sudden collapse was exertion and lack of sleep. Katrina has been advised to take it easy. Her spokesperson confirmed the incident. “Katrina was unwell on Wednesday morning. She has been advised some rest. Of late she has been going through tremendous work stress travelling in and out of Mumbai.” Source

Machoman Salman Khan says he is supporting actress Preity Zinta`s Kings XI Indian Premier League team, though he admits he hasn`t watched any of the matches in season-3 of the tournament. 
 
“I am supporting Zinta`s team, but I haven`t watched any of the matches as yet,” Salman told reporters at the `mahurat` (inauguration) of Rahul Dholakia`s film “Society” here Tuesday.

The film has been produced by Smita Thackeray, who is daughter-in-law of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray. Salman believes that media shows the face of society so it should not amplify trivial issues.

“Show good things to the society. Sometimes you make stories out of nothing and exaggerate some trivial issues. Don`t do that,” Salman said. Source
