It is not often that a lead pair in a Bollywood film is remembered for the wonderful chemistry that the actors share onscreen. While the Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol jodi is the most talked about in B-town, contemporary actors Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have carved a niche for themselves onscreen. But is the pairing overrated? That is what the film critics would like to think, because every film which features the Akshay Kumar – Katrina Kaif pairing does well at the box office in spite of the fact that it does not have a good storyline to match.
If you don’t believe this, take a look at the recently released films with Akshay and Katrina in the lead. Be it Namaste London or Welcome or De Dana Dan, every film has scored well at the Indian box office. So will the magic work this time too? While the actors embrace themselves for upcoming release Tees Maar Khan, the question is whether a Farah Khan production will do well without lucky mascot Shah Rukh Khan. The promotion work for Tees Maar Khan is on its way and the promos look inviting to the eye, but keeping in mind therather storyline that Farah Khan usually follows, will the Akshay – Katrina chemistry be enough to draw audiences to the cinema? This is a question which can only be answered on Christmas Eve, when the film hits theaters. More

Bollywood’s forgotten diva Urmila Matondkar, who has not been seen in films for a long time, made an appearance — but not in front of the camera. She sashayed down the ramp for designer Nisha Sagar at the ongoing Amby Valley India Bridal Week (AVIBW).
Wearing a colourful, heavily-studded lehenga and corset, the actress walked down the ramp, joined by actor Govinda’s daughter Narmada, who flaunted a blue and green, flowy chiffon dress with crystals. ‘The kind of clothes I have designed this time I think Urmila and Narmada fitted the palette and the cuts very well. So they were a very good choice,’ Sagar told IANS.
Urmila, who has done hit films like ‘Rangeela’, ‘Judaai’, ‘Satya’ and ‘Pyar Tune Kya Kiya’, didn’t interact with the media after the show.
Sagar’s collection, which was in association with the Gitanjali group, was a melange of bright and vibrant hues – royal blue, emerald green, lime green with a subtle hint of pink and orange. The embroidery was detailed with gold work and Swarovski stones. More
Salman Khan’s fall outs and patch ups are ample to keep the tabloid Press from running out of fodder. In early August 2010, Khan had an acrimonious split with the channel airing ‘Dus Ka Dum’ and he strode right out of the project.
Presently, the mediavine is abuzz with news that Khan is all set to romp right back into the anchor’s seat in 2011 for the third season of ‘DKD’. As per insiders, all efforts to rake in a new host for ‘DKD’ came a cropper, as no one could really measure up to Khan’s star cachet.
States a highly placed source, “Salman did the first season of ‘DKD’ charging Rs. 89 crore for 104 episodes and for the second season he demanded a raise. But the channel heads cited recession as the reason and Salman willingly slashed his fee after they admitted to a cash crunch. Considering that Salman had agreed to a fee cut for the second season, shouldn’t the channel have given him an increment for the third season? Anyway, they have agreed to all his conditions, including the fee hike, coz’ Salman told them that we would do season three of ‘DKD’ only on his terms.”
Adds the insider, “Besides, Salman does not have a binding contract with ‘Bigg Boss’ and he can always do it too apart from ‘DKD’, also next year. When the channel heads called up Salman he agreed because ‘Dus Ka Dum’ is very dear to him as it was his first television show.” Source
Everyone goes crazy for Priyanka Chopra’s hot body but director Vishal Bhardwaj doesn’t seems to be happy with Priyanka’s svelte sexy figure.
Recently, the actress had to shoot a semi-nude scene with newcomer Vivaan, Naseeruddin Shah’s son, in Vishal’s film ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ but her extremely toned body could not work for the scene and as a result, the director had to shoot the scene with a body double.
Priyanka was playing the role of a thirty-eight year old lady in that particular scene of ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ with Vivaan and she was required to show her bare back on camera. However, her fit and taut body could not look as that of a thirty-eight year old.
Interestingly, Vishal came up with the idea of using a body double for Priyanka to resolve the problem. And finally, the scene in question was shot using a body double exposing her back.
Talking to a news daily, an insider said, “That scene has Priyanka and Naseeruddin Shah’s son, Vivaan in it and Priyanka is playing the role of a woman between the age of 38 and 40. Vivaan’s character goes to Priyanka’s room. On seeing him, she drops the gown she is wearing.” More
The lovebirds Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai has always been seen extremely happy together on every occasion. But now, it seems that the long honeymoon of the couple is over and they are ready to enter the real conjugal world where some misunderstandings and sweet-bitter fight is normal.
The gorgeous ‘Bachchan bahu’ always gets excited whenever she is seen surrounded by her family. This has become a regular practice since her marriage to junior Bachchan. However, this over-the-top behavior of Ash has been noticed by her loving hubby too, and he is probably feeling embarrassed for the same. Recently, this became an issue between the couple and it led to a heated argument.
Ash and Abhi was on their way to an award ceremony and actor Kunal Kapoor was also along with them. Abhi asked her to be a bit soft in her expression as the actress was reportedly getting too loud and vocal. A subtle request from her hubby came instantly to keep her voice low. Gauging the sensitivity situation, Kunal preferred to leave the place to allow them to settle their spat. More

As we all know that remakes of classic films are abound in Bollywood these days; the latest film to be remade is the 1953 musical masterpiece Baiju Bawra. At the helm is director, Krishna Shah, who has reportedly approached perfectionist Aamir Khan, for the titular role that made Bharat Bhushan famous 60 years ago.
A.R. Rahman is said to have inspired Shah to pursue the project, and Rahman is all set to provide the music to the film. The classic film had brilliant music by the legendary Naushad, and starred Meena Kumari in her breakout role.
Baiju Bawra is about a singer who vows to have revenge on the legendary music maestro Tansen, who drove his father to his death. Baiju forsakes his worldly pleasures and his love in his quest for vengeance. The film featured a wonderful climax where Tansen and Baiju have a musical duel, testing if their finesse can turn dissolve marble into water!
According to the Urdu Jang newspaper, the film had been shelved for a while so that Shah could focus on his epic Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story, but now his energies are focused on reviving this anticipated film. Source

David Dhawan has taken it upon himself to bring together Govinda and Salman Khan, both of whom reportedly are not on speaking terms any more. David, their close associate, and who has done the maximum number of films with them, is now in the process of bringing them together for the sequel to ‘Partner’.
But stories about the real-life rift between the reel-life partners are taking a toll on David. He is toying with the idea of hosting a party to celebrate the Salman-Govinda friendship.
‘And why just the Salman-Govinda friendship? It will be to celebrate the Salman-Govinda-David friendship. I get very disturbed when I hear about their so-called rift. Arrey yaar, both are far above such bickering. Look at Govinda’s track-record. He has been at the top for decades. As for Salman, with ‘Dabangg’ he has proved he is beyond all competition,’ Dhawan says.
‘I hate to see people talking about two of my closest friends in this negative way. So yes, a party celebrating Salman and Govinda’s friendship and my friendship with them seems a good idea,’ he adds. More
