Vidya Balan Is Not For Milan Luthria’s Film

For some time now, speculations have been rife about Kareena Kapoor’s part in Milan Luthria’s sequel to the 2010 hit, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. But not many know that Milan also needs the second “lead actor” for another female part in his film.

“Yes, there’s another female role for which we need to cast a leading actor only. But I haven’t been able to crack who the best person for that role could be,” says Milan, who is still recuperating from a bout of typhoid.

Ask him if The Dirty Picture girl Vidya is being considered for the part and he says: “I would love to cast her. I don’t think anyone who works with Vidya would ever want to work without her. But she wouldn’t fit into the role in Once Upon…2.”

VidyaThe Taxi No. 9211 director feels he will make another film with Vidya in the lead. “I will surely work with her again. I have a few ideas for her. At a later stage, I will take them up with Vidya. She keeps telling me, ‘come on now and let’s make another one.’ I have to find something as good, if not better, as The Dirty Picture,” he says.

Post success of The Dirty Picture, Milan is gearing up for Once Upon…2. “Actually, we started work before the release of The Dirty Picture. So, a lot of research and script work have started. What I am very excited about is to be working with (music director) Pritam because recently, we worked on the hit soundtrack for Once Upon A Time…, especially the song, Pee Loon,” he says, adding that he is looking for a hit musical score like Sangam (1964) and Saajan (1991).

Milan also informs that he and Pritam have been in touch with each other. “Now, we are going to start working on the music. He is very busy. And I too am getting a lot of calls from producers. So, we both need to quietly slip out somewhere,” he says with a smile. Source
