Priyanka Chopra Feels Shy While Singing For Bollywood

Priyanka Chopra has gone international as a singer with her debut single but the actress says she was too shy to sing in Bollywood earlier even though offers came her way.

“I used to get opportunities to sing in Bollywood but was too shy to take up any song. My friends Vishal-Shekhar and Salim-Sulaiman tried to make me sing in films but I was too shy. I sang in ‘Bluffmaster’ (2005 film) but the song was never released,” said Priyanka.

“But now as I have already launched my own album, I can think about it. But I’ll be selective as I am really shy,” she added.

Dressed in a white tee, pink jacket, light blue denims paired with white high heels, the Barfi! star was in the Capital today to promote the single from her first music album which will be released later.

“Will.i.am is an extremely talented musician and artist. It was an honour for me to work with him. We have heard so much about him, we love their music. It was a really new experience. There are other international collaborations in this album too, you’ll get to know about it as I keep unraveling my songs in the album,” she added.

May Yash Chopra’s Soul Rest In Peace

Legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra’s death due to dengue has left many Delhiites panicky. Doctors say they are getting constant calls from patients suffering from suspected or confirmed dengue infection, seeking medical advice or admission to the hospital.

The initial reaction of the civic body bordered on denial. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is yet to accept that Chopra died of dengue, and according to one newspaper report it is investigating if Chopra was infected outside the city, as if that can absolve the authorities of their failure to curb the dengue menace. Between 2008 and 2012, reported cases of dengue in municipal and state hospitals have nearly trebled in Mumbai, according to a recent report by the not-for-profit Praja Foundation. Malarial cases rose 71% over the same period.

“Many patients with near-normal platelet count have insisted on getting admitted. They do not want to take a chance,” said Dr Suranjit Chatterjee, senior consultant, internal medicine department at Apollo Hospitals. He said that the renowned filmmaker’s death due to dengue was surprising for him too. “There must be some other co-morbid condition, which led to multi-organ failure and death,” Chatterjee added.

He said that one needs to get admitted if there is recurrent vomiting and the patient is not able to take fluid or the fever is not going down despite medications. “If there is a rapid fall in platelet count or the patient has internal bleeding, he or she has to be admitted for constant monitoring of the vital parameters. Also, elderly people, children and those suffering from additional health problems like diabetes, heart disease, kidney failure or cancer have to be admitted,” Budhiraja added.

Our source from the sets informs, “Akshay arrived early in the morning and was not happy with the props on the specially created sets in an open ground. He spoke to the art director and told him to make some changes. Despite knowing that he would incur losses due to the delay, Akshay did not compromise.” The actor is now scheduled to shoot the song on Friday. Rakesh Upadhyay, creative producer of the film confirmed our news.

Incidentally, recently when Akshay Kumar reached the sets of the film in Mumbai, he was not pleased with the set-up. After consulting with co-producer Himesh Reshammiya, he called off the shoot for the day.

RGV: Student Of The Year` will break `3 Idiots record

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma continues his love-hate relationship with Karan Johar with his tongue-in-cheek comment on the latter`s forthcoming film ‘Student Of The Year’ (SOTY).

Varma, who has often made snide comments on Johar`s cinema, took to Twitter to share his feedback on the trailers of SOTY, which marks the acting debut of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra.

“`Student Of The Year` truly, really and honestly looks like it`s the best film of Karan Johar and the bestest film of Indian cinema ever. I love the sheer, never-before-seen imagery and the extraordinary originality and even more extraordinary directorial brilliance.

“I don`t know about `Student Of The Year`, but I would want to be a student for life of Karan Johar`s cinema,” added the maker of movies like ‘Bhoot’ and ‘Sarkar’.
He went on to compare Johar`s work with that of Hindi film industry stalwarts.

“I rate Karan Johar far far more higher than Mehboob Khan, V. Shantaram, Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt and Bimal Roy. Kudos to Karan Johar for making Varun Dhawan make me forget Shah Rukh Khan

“`Kuch Kuch ho gaya mujhe `Student Of The Year` trailer dekhte dekhte`. I strongly feel `Student Of The Year` will break the records of `3 Idiots`,” he further wrote.
