With a bevy of actors, Sanjay Gupta’s crime drama Shootout at Wadala has managed to nail the art of audience and reportedly earned total 27 crore in just three days after release. It was released on May 3 across the country.

It is strongest in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, where the story of Manya Surve found resonance. It also managed to collect decent numbers in parts of India where mafia tales are a big draw.

The collections that was recorded at 10.10 crores on it opening day (Friday) now rests at an approximate of 4.50 crores on Monday (Day 4). The film’s weekend collections were excellent despite having adult content, hurling abuses and lewd language at places!

It was made for a cost of around 32 crore with a print and advertising (P&A) budget of around 15 crore, and with three days of release it has crossed one-fourth to its making. It recovered approximately 27cr over the weekend. The producers sent out a release saying, SAW collected 30.7cr from the domestic box office in the first three days.

According to sources from the production side it is informed that the satellite rights were picked up for around 22 cr because this film was sold as a package deal along with Ek Thi Daayan and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again; all three films are produced by Balaji.

Of course, it collected something to the tune of 4 cr on the opening weekend. But the real star is Aashiqui 2 that is 2013′s first certified super hit with a collection of around 43 cr in its 10-day run.
