After making the comeback vehicle for Karisma Kapoor, Vikram Bhatt has another project in store for actor Aftab Shivdasani. The Dangerous Ishhq director has decided to veer his attention towards his next production – the sequel to his horror film, 1920 starring Aftab.

Both of them have already worked together in various projects such as Deewane Huye Paagal, Awara Paagal Deewana, Kasoor and Ankahee.

Vikram Bhatt was quoted saying, “My film with Karisma is out. It’s now Aftab for me. I will now concentrate on this project. The shoot is complete and in the coming weeks we will chalk out a strategy for it. The film has been directed by Bhushan Patel, who was my assistant. There is more evil than the first part in this one. The film depicts Aftab in new light. I am sure he will be noticed.”

Aftab’s film career has not been going great guns. He was last seen in films like Players and Bin Bulaye Baraati which failed miserably at the box-office and his attempt to turn producer also failed with the failure of Aao Wish Karein in 2009.

The sequel has been shot in Sweden and stars Tia Bajpai alongside Shivdasani.  Source

Aftab Shivdasani’s grandfather passed away on Saturday, just a day after his latest film Bin Bulaye Baarati released. Aftab who returns to silver screen after two years with Bin Bulaye Baarati after the debacle Aao Wish Karein in 2009, was on his way to Ahmedabad to promot his latest venture when he got this heartbreaking news.

Aftab was taken aback with this news and he immediately took a flight back to Mumbai to join his family in this sad time.

The grief stricken Aftab tweeted, “My beloved Grandfather Shri Bhagwan Shivdasani just passed away. Rushing back to Mumbai, extremely saddened, i pray for his eternal peace. Ironical- On the eve of fathers day, the son of god departs.. to be with the father of all.. happy fathers day. god bless. Still not sunk in…so used to seeing Him at home..now, an empty room.. with a light burning to bring peace to his soul…”  Source

One glance at Aftab Shivdasani’s ‘mooch’ in his upcoming release BIN BULAYE BARAATI and not just it looks suspiciously similar to the kind of look that actor Surya carried in Tamil flick SINGHAM (which has now been remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn), it also continues the trend as set by some of the recent filmy cops seen on screen.

“As a tough no-nonsense cop, Surya carried a dense moustache that went all the way down till the chin in SINGHAM. Now Aftab too is bearing a similar look though it is for a much softer role in a comedy,” says an insider who specializes in designing looks for actors, “Even in Bollywood, this trend is catching up.”

He has a point here. Last year Salman Khan tried something razor thin in DABANGG, Abhishek Bachchan went with a regular one for DUM MAARO DUM and now Aamir Khan is going conventional as well for Reema Kagti’s yet untitled suspense drama. Aftab Shivdasani has planned to direct his first home production film titled Sabse Peeche Hum Khade ! Recently, a portion of the film was shot in Shimla.

As per an eyewitness’ account, Aftab was seen directing the Nabha (near Shimla) stint of Sabse Peeche Hum Khade, which involved a lot of child artists, apart from the leading lady, the TV starlet Aamna Shariff.

As may be recalled, earlier this year Aftab had responded to a question about turning producer in the affirmative and gave the name of his banner as Rising Son Entertainment. He had also disclosed that he was writing his first project. Aftab had however refused to give the name of the director, saying that he was yet to be finalised. Source

A passionate, no-holds-barred kiss between Celina Jaitley and Aftab Shivdasani left the actress with a bleeding lip.

Vikram Bhatt’s forthcoming movie Red has Celina playing a young widow who gets involved in an intense physical and emotional relationship with a man (Aftab) suffering from a heart ailment. The movie features Celina and Aftab in many steamy and intimate scenes, one of which is a passionate kiss. In the scene, Aftab is shown pushing Celina against a wall and then smooching her forcibly.

Since the film’s director Vikram Bhatt wanted the scene to look real, he told the two actors to shed their inhibitions before shooting the scene. But when the shot was being taken, Aftab was apparently a little too wild on Celina. After a few takes, Celina was left with a bleeding upper lip.

The gash further got worse after an infection caused by the lipstick that Celina was using. The actress had to see a doctor and get a tetanus injection. The kissing scene was eventually completed after a two-day delay.

Apparently, Aftab was quite embarrassed because of the incident. It was good that he had asked his girlfriend Yana Gupta to not come on the sets while he was shooting the kiss with Celina.
