AKKI OPTS OUT & SONU GETS IN

There were that Akshay Kumar has been approached to dub for the lead character in the Hindi version of a forthcoming Hollywood flick, based on Greek mythology. But the actor has opted and the reason behind it is still not known.
But, now the opportunity has gone to Sonu Sood.
Sonu confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I will be dubbing for a Hollywood film for the first time! When you talk about ‘Hercules’, your voice needs to match the physique of the actor you see onscreen (Kellan Lutz). I guess they chose me because I too sport a six pack quite like Kellan Lutz! Apart from undergoing the regular voice exercises, I’ll try to give it my best shot.”
The actor revealed that he found most dubbed Hollywood films funny.
“I remember, as a student, I found the dubbed versions funny. That shouldn’t be the case,” he said.
When asked if he knows that Akshay was first approached for the same, the 40 year old actor said, “I heard about it. I have done two films with Akshay. Whether he dubs or I do, as long as Punjabi boys do it, its fine.”

When Akshay approached him to play with him, Ranbir told him that he has heard that he is a dangerous player to play with. While Akshay quickly moved on to Katrina Kaif and started delivering even bigger successes with her, Priyanka did get a jolt but recovered to work with Shah Rukh Khan [Don], Hrithik Roshan [Krissh], and Salman Khan [Salaam-E-Ishq].
However, the man with whom she went on to sign maximum number of films has been Abhishek Bachchan. After Bluff Master which turned out to be a decent box office runner, Priyanka now has two movies with Abhishek lined up for release. These are Drona and Dostana. Both the films would be releasing within six weeks of each other. While Drona arrives on 2nd October, Dostana is confirmed for 14th November.
Coming back to Abhishek and Priyanka, one can expect them to be seen in many more films to come if Drona and Dostana turn out to be twice the reason for celebrations for the two youngsters.

Akki Admits That He Is Comfortable With Both Action and Comedy

Akshay Kumar is back to doing what he does best — action and comedy. In a candid chat with TOI, he talks about his larger-than-life character in his new release Boss.

“I’m thankful to everyone for the love and support for Boss. The comedy is being appreciated, the action is being talked about and the songs are a hit. What more can one ask for? Yes, I am comfortable with both action and comedy. In my last two releases, I played completely diverse characters. This is something fresh all over again,” said Khiladi hero of Bollywood.

When asked about the dialogues of the films, which went viral before the release, Akshay said, “The dialogues were always the forte of the film. We knew from the beginning it needed to have strong punchlines, both in the drama as well as comedy scenes. I was watching the film with the audience a couple of days back and was so happy to see the reactions to the dialogues.”

Akshay gives Boss a family entertainment tag and says it is the USP of the film. The music of the film is also loud and peppy that has been liked by the music buffs to the core. About the music Akshay said, “Well, Party All Night has a very youthful appeal to it. The title song is full of attitude and style. The new version of Har Kisi Ko Nahin Milta is one of the best romantic tracks in recent times. Hum Na Tode is a full-on tapori number with tremendous energy. And the Pitaah song is soothing and emotional.”

Ronit Roy Says Akshay In The Real Action Hero

Popular TV actor Ronit Roy, who will be seen playing a villain in ‘Boss’, says it is difficult to match upto Bollywood star Akshay Kumar when it comes to action.

Akshay is the king of action. It is difficult to match upto him in action and his level. I have broken my bones… hands were swollen. I gave everything for this role hope it stands out in the space of villains. I had to get the basic preparation for this role in terms of physicality. I had to get my body perfect and look powerful to show the power of a villain,” said Ronit.

“I had to get the basic preparation for this role in terms of physicality. I had to get my body perfect and look powerful to show the power of a villain,” he said.

In the movie, Ronit plays his corrupt cop. “Villains have to be powerful though they get beaten up in the end. Despite this fact the negative force is always required in the film… it keeps the interest alive. In the past we have seen that characters like Gabbar, Mogambo and others became popular just like the heroes,” he said.

Besides Akshay and Ronit, the film features Mithun Chakraborty, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shiv Pandit and Johnny Lever.

Issue for shared screens with Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan says the issue over the allotment of screens for the release of Ekta Kapoor‘s ‘Once Upon A time In Mumbai Dobaara‘ is a little unfounded as ‘Chennai Express’ producers UTV did make way for Balaji’s request.Shobha Kapoor, who released Akshay Kumar starrer Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara a week later on August 15, had expressed disappointment with UTV over the sharing of screens.

Shah Rukh said the commitment from the producers at UTV was well clarified with the makers of Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara! and he was not involved in any discussion. “Our film was earlier supposed to release on Thursday, it then got shifted to Friday, a week means seven days and everyone has the right to run their film for seven days. So seven days got over and we gave them the theatres on Friday. If there is an issue or complaint about this, I think it is little unfounded,” he said.

Akshay Kumar’s lifes two important cities

Looks like Akshay Kumar had a blast from the past while shooting for his next, the action-comedy Boss, in Delhi. The actor got nostalgic as he was working very close to his childhood home.Akshay grew up in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area, and it was in Bangkok that he worked as a chef and learnt martial arts.

The actor had even once become emotional while shooting for the movie, said a source close to the project’s unit. “We were shooting for a scene in Chandni Chowk and it was hardly some 200 metres away from Akshay’s old house. That was the place where he grew up… Akshay wanted a glimpse of his old house as he hadn’t visited the place for a few years now.

While the experience left Akshay all emotional, he has made sure Boss tickles the funny bone of the audiences.

Directed by Anthony D’Souza, the film also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Shiv Pandit, Aditi Rao Hydari, Danny Denzongpa, Ronit Roy and Johnny Lever.
