Akshay Kumar Join Hands With Sanjay Leela Bhansali Again

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actor Akshay Kumar have come together for the first time for a film titled ‘Rowdy Rathore’.

It will be an ‘action’ film to be produced by Bhansali and co-produced by designer Shabinaa Khan. According to Bhansali, action genre for him is a totally alien concept. “At this juncture as a filmmaker, I want to move out of the comfort zone and do things that are new and untried,” the `Guzaarish‘ director said.

While Rowdy Rathore was a remake of the Telugu hit Vikramarkudu (2006), this one is a take on the 2002 Tamil blockbuster, Ramana. The film has already been remade in Telugu as Tagore (2003), and then in Kannada as Vishnu Sena (2005).

As per a source, “Both (Akshay and Sanjay) had a great time working on Rowdy Rathore. Sanjay is confident that Akshay can carry off this role perfectly, given his image as a rugged action hero”.

The source added, “Right now, Sanjay has put everything on hold and is focusing on Ram Leela. Akshay is busy with the pre-production work of Once Upon… At this point, the female lead and director haven’t been finalized yet”. In the film Akki will play a vigilante who fights corruption in the action-packed film. Buzz even has it that Ghajini (2008) director AR Murugadoss, who also directed the original Ramana, will direct the Hindi version.

Akshay Kumar’s Joker is Set To Teach Us New Language “Gaalaguzi”

Akshay Kumar‘s upcoming movie Joker is set to release. The Trailer of the movie is out and has got terrific response from the audiences. The movie is all about he Akshay as an NRI and his made aliens.

Helmed by Shirish Kunder, Joker is all set to hit theatres on August 31. The latest buzz doing rounds is that the flick will incorporate a new language. It is notable that James Cameron developed a new language for aliens in his movie Avatar and it seems that Shirish is following the same style in his forthcoming Joker.

A source from the industry adds, “Avatar was about aliens and for that Cameron had invented the language ‘Na Vi’. Now, Joker which again has aliens holding centre stage also sees a new language which has been named Gaalaguzi.”

The interesting part is that the new language will be spoken by Shreyas Talpade not by aliens as the actor will be seen as an inhabitant of the imaginary village Paglapur. On being quizzed, filmmaker Shirish told the sources, “There is a definite reason why another language was needed in Joker. The kind of words and other lingo that you would hear here are totally new as well as perfectly relevant.”

Akshay Kumar’s Joker Trailer Gets Bumper Responce

The long wait is over with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Joker’s official theatrical trailer finally being released. Earlier the trailer was set to release on July 12 but has been released a day earlier by the producers of the film.

Directed by Shirish Kunder, the film also features Shreyas Talpade, Minissha Lamba and Asrani. And something that makes the film way more special is the fact that Joker will be Akki’s 100th film.

The story of Joker revolves around a village called Paglapur that remains isolated, with no electricity, television or sanity. Akshay is playing a character of a NASA scientist Agasthya (Akshay Kumar’s character’s name is the same as he had in Jaan-E-Man), while Sonakshi plays his wife Manali. The promo gives us the first glimpse at the much-talked about aliens.

Its promo will also show Chitrangada Singh in an item song. Joker would be the second film in which Sonakshi is paired opposite Akshay after Rowdy Rathore. The look of the film is retro and also funny. But, according to Shirish Kunder, Joker has some humour but it’s not a comedy, unlike the title suggests. To Watch the Official Trailer Log On To JOKER.

Bollywood’s Raw Action is much Better than Technological Action

After the success of Akshay Kumar‘s Rowdy Rathore everybody has believed that who ever does the action in Silver Screen, no one is better than Khiladi. He is the real Khiladi in B-Town.

Advanced technology can make actors fly in the air, jump down high-rises and do other dazzling, dangerous stunts. But it is the old Bollywood ‘dhishoom, dhishoom’ staple that really sets the viewer’s adrenaline rushing – borne out by the success of “Rowdy Rathore”, another raw action entertainer that has earned over Rs.105 crore.

“Dabangg”, “Singham” and “Agneepath” had their fair share of raw action and all did brisk business, earning Rs.145 crore, Rs.139 crore and Rs.120 crore, respectively.

There are many more films like Salman Khan‘s Wanted and John Abraham‘s Force which also fall under same league of films with tough and strong male leads, who make villains count stars with their kicks and punches. End result? The viewers hooted, clapped, whistled and came back for more.

Clearly, hi-tech entertainers made with mega-budgets like underwater thriller “Blue” and sci-fi “Krrish” and “RA.One” have their place, but the masses, particularly those in the interiors, want raw, rugged action.

Agrees Bollywood’s ‘khiladi’ Akshay Kumar, who returned to action with the Rs.45 crore-worth “Rowdy Rathore” after six years.

“I personally believe that people enjoy raw action more than technology. If you use too much of technology, it will bounce back. People are very smart and understand what is real and what is unreal,” Akshay told

“If you sit in single theatres and watch such films with the audience, you will hear people saying, ‘Arre ye toh computer pe kiya hai (This is done on computer)’. You can’t take your audiences for granted. So when I did my first action film ‘Rowdy Rathore’ after six years, I chose to do raw action. I believe in manpower and not technological power,” he said.

The success of “Rowdy Rathore”, which grossed over Rs.100 crore within two weeks of its release, ratifies his belief.

According to film critic Omar Qureshi, nothing works without a good story.

“Essentially, Bollywood is about songs, dance and drama. In between, our filmmakers were copying straight from Hollywood. They have a different style of filmmaking, which does not really connect with the rawness of our interiors,” Qureshi told

“People go to a theatre to be entertained. Today there are all sorts of action scenes – live action and special effects-created scenes. It’s not true that live action entertains better,” Khan told

“Dabangg 2″, “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2″ and “Shootout At Wadala” are amongst the upcoming films showing plenty of the tried and tested ‘dhishoom’ formula. And the makers are hoping that they will be laughing all the way to the bank.

But above all of them is Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger. The recent trailer of the movie has proved that Salman Khan is back with a bang.
