Kabmbakkht Ishq conquers the box office as the film rakes in over 19 crores on its opening day.Gross Collection Worldwide (first day): 4.5 million USD (19 crores), 2.4 million USD India (12 crore), 1.4 million USD overseas (7 crore).

Film heats up box office across Pakistan as well with 15 prints and all shows out. Kambakkht Ishq saw one of the widest releases for a Bollywood film in recent times and released across 2000 plus screens worldwide (with a combination of prints & digital). The film released across India, UK , US, Australia, Europe, South Africa, Fiji Island, Middle East, Malaysia and many others.

The king Akshay Kumar was confused for Nicholas Cage recently. A source said, “Sajid Nadiadwala was shooting for Kambakkht Ishq when he happened to come across the set of Fast and Furious in the Hollywood studio. Why not shoot on this set himself. What’s more the Fast and Furious car was there too.” Adds a source. Sajid quickly got his unit to shoot Akshay’s action scene there.

“Seeing the Fast and Furious car and the set people confused Akshay for Nicholas Cage. They all began screaming Nicholas Nicholas and waving excitedly at him. Poor Akshay he did not know what to do. but waved back at them hoping that they would know that he is Akshay Kumar and not Nicholas Cage,” said the Source.

Akshay Kumar is all set to be paired with a South Indian actress in a film he’s making for his banner Hari Om Productions. A source close to the actor reveals, “Akki plans to strengthen his banner. He plans to make Hari Om Productions more active and has signed directors he has faith in to make films for him.” The first director that Akki signed was Priyadarshan, with whom he has done maximum films. The film is tentatively titled Khatta Meetha and south actress Trisha has been signed to play the leading lady.

An industry source says, “After the success of actresses like Asin from the South, many actresses from there are now keen to try their hand in B-Town. Trisha is excited about working with Akshay. He was impressed when he met her for the first time, and then asked her to get in touch with Priyan about further developments. The film will go on the floors later this year.”

Priyadarshan confirmss, “Trisha is playing the heroine opposite Akki. He was keen on doing the film with a new face from the south. After seeing Trisha’s performance in a few South Indian movies, Trisha has become his only choice…” More

Aladin, produced by Eros International and Boundscript and directed by Sujoy Ghosh is slated to release on 14th August. A larger than life modern day adaptation of the evergreen Arabian night’s tale, Aladin stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh and will mark the debut of Jacqueline Fernandes. The keenly anticipated film packed with great action, adventure, music and romance has music by Vishal and Shekhar.

The daredevil actor Akshay Kumar won’t be attending the 10th IIFA awards in Macau next month. June has been kept aside for the family vacation, and nothing in the world can change that.

Says a source close to Akshay, “The family vacation was planned well in advance to  coincide with Akshay’s son Aarav’s school vacations. Akshay doesn’t like leaving Aarav behind when he is out of the country. At the same time he doesn’t want his son to miss school. So the annual holiday was planned well in advance. No power on earth, not even IIFA, is going to persuade Akshay to take even a small break from the holiday, let alone break his little boy’s heart.”

In fact it was suggested by IIFA organizers that Akshay fly down from wherever he was  to Macau for the event. When Akshay refused to perform the organizers suggests he come down with to Macau with his wife and son just to attend. More

Akshay Kumar has always been appreciated for his daredevil stunts in films, and his recent act for much awaited KAMBAKKHT ISHQ seems to be even more heroic. Akshay recently shot for one of the brave action sequences in KAMBAKKHT ISHQ which saw him jumping through fire with a jet ski.

Refusing for a body double, Akki was hell bent on doing the scene himself. However, the rule at the studio they were shooting made clear that if an actor wants to do his stunt, he has to pass a test, which would be judged by a panel of six stunt directors. Of course, Akki successfully passed the test and hence, was allowed to carry on with the shoot. Along with riding the jet ski, the action sequence also has Akshay jumping from a water ski to a speed boat and finally using a chopper.

But fierce fighter Akshay was absolutely cool about the stunt and managed to pull it off extremely well. He isn’t nicknamed the ‘Khiladiyon ka Khiladi’ for namesake! Source

Earlier, Rohit had proposed with his script for ‘Come On Pappu’ (Percept and Akshay’s Hari Om Productions) that was supposed to have Akshay, Sonam Kapoor and a Chimp on title cards. As well, Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan were to be roped in for prominent roles. You won’t believe it but its true. Apna Akshay Kumar was arrested Monday morning by the police here in connection with obscene behaviour in public during the recent Lakme India Fashion Week (LIFW), a senior police official said.

“We arrested him under Indian Penal Code Section 294, which deals with obscenity in public. Since it is a bailable offence, he was released on bail,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Arvind Mahabadhi. During the LIFW early April, Akshay had unbuttoned his jeans, while walking the ramp, at the instance of his wife Twinkle Khanna.

The LIFW had attracted other celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan and Naomi Campbell, who had walked the ramp, promoting various designers. Akshay’s unbuttoning act had kicked up a storm with some private individuals lodging police complaints, accusing Akshay of immoral and indecent behaviour in public. Source

Our source claim to the Khiladi Kumar however reveals, “Akshay refused the offer. It wasn’t just money. Big moolah was offered to him for hosting the one of its kind quiz show but it is about his commitment. His date diary is full till 2010 end as he has already been committed to a number of mega projects. Taking up the quiz show hosting would mean adjusting and creating problems for his already made commitments. He is a thorough professional and therefore he didn’t wish to get tempted by the big offer.”

However, the channelwalas are still persistent and hoping Akshay would change his mind once he is back from his Singapore shooting schedule of Priyadarshan’s De Dana Dhan. Source
