In today’s Bollywood scenario, where every actor worth is salt is either getting Botoxed or undergoing hair transplants to look as good as possible, Akshaye Khanna, who was recently seen playing a protagonist in recently released Gali Gali Chor Hai and has been sporting a head full of thinning hair since the past few years, claims that he has never contemplated getting a hair grafting procedure.
The admittedly reclusive actor was recently quoted to have said in an interview, “Everybody has some or the other problem-back problem, knee problem, stomach problem…one has to pick oneself in life and move on. If suddenly your hearing becomes weak, it doesn’t mean that you have to sit at home for the rest of your life. Just wear a hearing aid and get on with life. I just want to be the way I am and there’s nothing wrong with it.”

Akshaye Khanna says he is upset with filmmakers like Farhan Akhtar and Abbas Mustan for not offering him new movies even after giving them hits
Akshaye Khanna is quite candid when it comes to admitting his anger towards certain filmmakers in the industry. He is miffed with the directors who didn’t further offer him films, despite him giving them hits for their previous project together.
Ask him about Farhan Akhtar and Abbas-Mustan, who’re making films without him in the cast and Khanna reiterates, “Of course, I’m angry with all of them.” However, when probed about the reason, the actor smiles and simply says, “That’s something you should ask Farhan and others, instead of me.” More
Though he has two of the biggest releases lined up this year but Akshaye Khanna instead of signing more films has decided to put all his future projects on hold.
The reason? Well Akshaye wants to see the outcome of his films NO PROBLEM and TEES MAAR KHAN before he decides on his next project. Says he, ‘I have decided not to sign any more films till the fate of my current films is not decided. I think I have got some of the best films under my belt this year and I would rather wait for the verdict they get before thinking of signing more films.’
Not only that. Ask him about his image as a serious actor who is now on a comic spree, Akshaye clarifies, ‘I think this is purely because cinema is driven by the taste of the audiences. If you look at some of the big hits in the last few years, they have mostly been comedy films. This is one of the reasons why I am also doing such films. At the same time, doing such films has its own charm and I love every bit of it.’
Though Akshaye might be back on the scene, but will his current films add to his career is something that remains to be seen. Source
Akshaye Khanna may be labelling his role in ‘Tees Maar Khan’ as a ‘special appearance’. However, if his director Farah Khan is to be believed, Akshaye has a much integral part to play in this Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer than just being relegated to a special appearance.
“He is truly the surprise element of the film. I guess this is applicable not just for the audience but also Akshaye himself. I am sure he too would be surprised to see his own role in the film. He feels that he isn’t there in the film much but the fact is that he has a strong presence in ‘Tees Maar Khan’,” says Farah in a confident tone.
With the film being less than a month away from release, Farah is throwing an open challenge to her actor who has forever revelled being an underdog right through his career, “Trust me when I say this but Akshaye is the maddest of them all in the film”, she says, “I have told him that I will do ‘taandav’ on his head when he would be walking away with all the rave reviews for the film. He is that special to the film.”
Hope Akshaye too starts believing that soon. Source
It was reported earlier that film Aakrosh was stuck in censor problems as there were approximately 30 cuts that were requested within the film. Director Priyadarshan and producer Kumar Mangat, who were livid with the imposition, approached the Revising Committee.
Aakrosh, which stars Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Paresh Rawal in lead roles is based on the fictitious town of Jhanjhargaon in North India, which starts with the disappearance of three college students who go to watch the Ramleela staged in their village. A few days later, they are reported to have been killed. Ajay Devgn and Akshaye Khanna play the two CBI officers from Delhi sent to the village to investigate the mysterious deaths. That’s when they discover a thriving nexus between police and local politicians in caste-related murders.
The latest on this, is that the film has been granted an ‘A’ certificate with just a measly five cuts by the Revising Committee, a drastic improvement from the initially asked for 30. With this new certificate, Aakrosh is all set to release on October 15. Source
Actor Akshaye Khanna says he has been having nightmares ever since an astrologer predicted that he would definitely get married in 2009. “I don’t believe in the institution of marriage. Yes, the other day a pundit (astrologer) predicted I’d definitely get married in 2009. He said he can write it in his blood, ‘Iss saal teri shaadi pukki.’ I was horrified. Now I keep asking everyone around me to assure me it won’t come true,” Akshaye, whose “Short Kut” has just released, said.
“The fact is marriage is just a legal piece of paper. I don’t see why the government needs to get involved in what two people do with their lives. It’s none of their business,” said the 34-year-old. Akshaye says it’s still difficult for him to carve his own space in the industry without being known as the son of charismatic Vinod Khanna.
“Even today I’d think 10 times before facing the camera with him. In terms of physicality alone, he’s so powerful. No point in sharing space with him until I feel confident of matching him by at least 10 percent. As a star son it’s a constant struggle to move away from being known as Vinod Khanna’s son and create my own space,” said Akshaye, who made his debut in 1997 with his father’s production “Himalaya Putra”.
