Abbas Ali Zafar Says Gunday Will Have Mature Romance

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, who made his directorial debut with Meri Brother Ki Dulhan, is all set to start working on his next Gunday, starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. He says though major parts of Gunday will be shot in Kolkata, he will create Howrah streets in Mumbai only.

If his directorial debut Mere Brother Ki Dulhan was a light-romantic comedy, Gunday will depict mature romance. “This is a different kind of a film. It’s a more mature romance and it also has action and drama. I am planning to release the film in the winters of 2013,” he said.
Praising the cast of the film, he said wonderful actress Priyanka Chopra is playing the female lead. “She will look authentic and justify her character as a Bengali girl. All the three characters will be seen as Bengali in the film,” he said.

Ishaqzaade Is A Complete Winner At The Box Office

Going by the feedback that Ishaqzaade has received, the industry is quite upbeat about the arrival of the newest romantic pair on the big screen – Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. In the meanwhile, Karisma Kapur’s comeback plans were dashed with Vikram Bhatt’s Dangerous Ishhq performing dismally at the box office.

While the makers of Ishaqzaade are said to have recovered their investments and earned over and above that, the trade is unanimous about Dangerous Ishq incurring a big loss to makers and distributors alike.

Pegging the first three days of the Arjun-Parineeti starrer at about Rs 16 crore, Komal Nahta said, “The initial is pretty good for a film with new actors. The music and the promotions definitely helped. The producers have earned over Rs 12 crore from satellite rights; they’ve nothing to worry about.” More

Boney Kapoor Will Have To Wait For His Son Arjun

Boney Kapoor, who now wants to make a film with his son Arjun Kapoor, will have to wait owing to his three-film deal with Ishaqzaade production house.

Though he did not launch him, filmmaker Boney Kapoor has now found a suitable script for Arjun. However, the project will have to wait owing to his three-film deal with the makers of his Habib Faisal directed debut.

A source states that Boney recently found the right subject to make a movie with his son.

“Arjun was often asked why his father didn’t launch him. And he had maintained that more than a launch, it was more about the right script and right team for his father to make the film with him,” says the source, adding, “A few days ago, the producer came up with the concept for a film. It’s a contemporary romance saga.” More

Watch The Saga Of Hindu Muslim Love In Ishaqzaade

One of the salient features about ISHAQZAADE is that it is a romantic story with a twist. Indeed it would be for the first time that a love story of the youth and for the youth is a love story between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl. As it is Hindi cinema has been rather conservative about using this genre as a subject matter of content, and one needs to congratulate Yash Raj Films for having chosen this subject.

Last time when Yash Raj Films had ventured into this arena it was through VEER-ZAARA and it is now more than a decade later that YRF has returned to the subject once again. However there is a twist in the love story of ISHAQZAADE, it is a love story situated in the Hindi heartland.

Indeed the earlier films which had the reference point of a Hindu Muslim love story, invariably were based around Punjab where the love that prospered had a backdrop of partition associated with it. In Punjab, as the Hindus and the Muslims lived together and shared lots of cultural affinities, it was quite natural for love to prosper. More

Salman Khan Praises Parineeti More Than Arjun

Salman Khan is Arjun Kapoor’s mentor, but the superstar praises Parineeti Chopra more than Arjun after seeing the trailers of Ishaqzaade. While talking to a channel, the new kid on the block reveals that Salman Khan finds the trailers of Ishaqzaade “good”.

Arjun Kapoor idolizes Salman Khan, the actor whom Arjun looks up to, aspires to be and seeks inspiration from. When Arjun showed the trailers of Ishaqzaade to Salman Khan, the actor liked it and said “good”. Arjun says that it means a lot to him. If Salman Khan isn’t criticizing or being negative about something that means he has liked it. The ‘Ishaqzaade’ boy also reveals that if Salman is close to somebody then he minces no words.

When Arjun Kapoor was a chubby fella not aspiring to be an actor, Salman Khan could see a star in him and pushed him to hit the gym, shed the extra kilos and be toned. Though he gave Arjun reasons to be an actor, after seeing the trailers of Arjun’s debut Ishaqzaade, he liked Parineeti more. More

Why Salman Refused To Promote Arjun Kapoor?

Well this is no news that Salman Khan has been instrumental in carving Arjun Kapoor’s acting career, however the actor is no mood to promote the newbie.

If reports are to be believed, then Arjun’s father Boney Kapoor approached the Dabangg Khan to promote his son on Twitter. However, Khan refused outright, much to Boney’s disappointment.

Well we wonder why Salman, who’s shaped many careers in Bollywood, turned down the filmmakers request as it was he, who motivated Arjun to try his hands in acting. Salman also helped him in losing weight, to get into his hero avatar.

Mediavine suggests, that it’s got something to do with the Ishaqzaade star’s past misdemeanors. Well something to do with an unsuccessful affair with Khan’s sister Arpita or link-up with his sister-in-law Malaika Arora Khan…. We are still wondering. Source

Parineeti & Arjun Share Romantic Chemistry In ‘Ishaqzaade’

From being haters they turn lovers — “born to hate, but destined to love.” The love song, title track of Ishaqzaade solely focuses on the chemistry between the two young lovebirds played by Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor. The romance sprouting between the two looks searing, and the way it’s picturized on the dusty lands of UP grabs our attention.

The song begins with the declaration, Ishaqzaade hain jitne fasaanon mein, Miltey hain kahan ab jahanon mein, the line is actually the crux of the passionate romantic film which seems is made on the lines of the yesteryear superhit Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The handsome Arjun Kapoor looks convincing as the typical UP ka bhaiya and equally charming as the lovestruck Parma, while his ladylove Parineeti Chopra looks sweet as madly-in-love Zoya, who is seen wearing the same print dress as her lover in the song. Arjun Kapoor Is Ready To Stun Everyone

It was way back in 1988, when a young, handsome, lean, mean actor with a stubble by the name of Anil Kapoor set the box-office on fire with his violent and explosive love story, TEZAAB. The blockbuster success of the N. Chandra directed TEZAAB catapulted Anil into the top league of Bollywood.

Cut to 2012, another young, handsome, lean, mean actor with a stubble by the name of Arjun Kapoor is ready to make a mark in Bollywood through Yash Raj Films’ ISHAQZAADE. And it can only be a co-incidence of sorts that he happens to be the nephew of Anil Kapoor and son of renowned producer, Boney Kapoor. And the similarities just don’t end here.

First and foremost just like uncle Anil Kapoor’s TEZAAB, Arjun’s film ISHAQZAADE is a violent love story and has an undercurrent of tension and drama, even during its romantic and comic moments, as is evident from the dialogue promos of the film. More

Before & After – Arjun Kapoor

Cousins Sonam and Arjun Kapoor have faced with one common problem during their growing up years. Both were overweight, but they dealt with it in their own way.

While Sonam drowned herself in fashion magazines quite early on, giving her the edge she has today, Arjun seems to have invested all his attention towards films. Apparently during his teenage years the actor wouldn’t bother going partying or play sports, but instead would lock himself up in a room full of dvds.

Says a source, “We all have our own methods of dealing with our insecurities or weaknesses. Arjun found comfort in cinema. He wanted to watch and learn from as many different filmmakers as possible. It made him feel like he was using his time well. He would sit and watch films for hours together, trying to understand different kinds of cinema, apart from Bollywood films that he grew up watching.” More
