The shooting of Sangeeth Sivan’s Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (YPD 2) has been going on in full swing in U.K. since a couple of months. The film’s cast and crew however got the shock of their lives when the hotel in which they were put up in Leicester caught fire on Wednesday night.

Even though all the cast and crew were immediately evacuated from the hotel, it was quite a traumatic experience for them. They had to wait on the streets for almost a couple of hours late at night braving the cold till the fire fighting team managed to douse the fire. Nevertheless the team still managed to resume shooting the very next day afternoon barely having slept a wink.

Confirming the same, Sangeeth Sivan tweeted, “day53- trial by fire- major fire broke out at d hotel housing our crew at 1am -no 1 was hurt & evn tho many had no sleep, still wrkd frm noon . a big ty to d unit .. so v hv nw overcome cold, fog, & fire.”

YPD 2 slated to release next year re-unites the 3 Deols (Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby) once again after their smash hit YPD.

Director Anil Sharma is all set to announce his next movie with all the three Deols. After working with Sunny Deol in GADAR and then with the Deol trio in APNE, the director has yet again roped in actor Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Dharmendra in a film which is supposedly titled as SINGH SAHEB THE GREAT.

According to a reports, Sharma was initially working on a 3D film venture – MASTERS (which was again with the Deols). However, he decided to start with SINGH SAHEB THE GREAT before that.

Writer Shaktiman Talwar, who wrote GADAR  with Sharma, has penned the script of this film as well. Sharma brought Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby together on screen in his earlier movie APNE. Source

Never mind if the Mumbai Heroes team fared badly in the first Celebrity Cricket League last year. This time, they’ve not only begun practicing for the forthcoming season, but are also adding players for on-field offensive. The latest is that the team (owned by Salman and Sohail Khan) has got Bobby Deol on board.

It is learnt that Bobby has been roped into the team for his bowling skills. Our source says, “Although Bobby is good with the bat too, it’s his swingers that have impressed Suniel Shetty and Sohail enough to bring him to their team.” It appears that Suniel is instrumental in getting players from Bollywood to build a good team.

“Besides, the starry line-up will get a bigger audience for the tournament next month,” adds our source.

They will soon launch their YouTube Channel (YouTube.com/TheDeolsofficial) and Facebook page (Facebook.com/TheDeols) and plan to upload video blogs to reach out to their fans across the globe.

After giving two huge hits — “Singh is King” (2008) and “Welcome” (2007) — it was thought quite certain that Akshay would be the face of Bazmee’s film. But the director brought changes in the film’s promotion strategy after seeing the soaring success of “Yamla…”.

“There were alterations made in the trailer of the film as well. Initially, the promos featured Akshay Kumar prominently. But after seeing Bobby’s performance and his audience connect in ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’, the filmmakers reworked on the promo to feature Bobby,” a source said.

Bazmee confirmed the change, and said: “It is a marketing strategy to promote Bobby as much as we promote Akshay. Bobby is generally shy, but we are pushing him to go all out for ‘Thank You’.”

Bobby has always been media shy and reclusive in promoting his films. But with “Yamla…”, he has realised the importance of reaching out to the audience, so he is keen and geared up to actively promote “Thank You”, says the source.

Apart from Bobby and Akshay, the romantic comedy also features actors Sonam Kapoor, Celina Jaitley and Irrfan Khan in lead roles.

For quite a while now, it has been a norm in Bollywood that films which release during or immediately after the New Year that is in the month of January, mostly fail to bring in the audience to the theaters thus flopping at the box-office.

The cold weather (in most of India) seems to prove detrimental with people refusing to come out of their homes in search of entertainment and only those movies which released earlier, during Christmas or before that, carry on their winning march into the New Year. Last year it was 3 IDIOTS and before that GHAJINI and prior to that WELCOME and TAARE ZAMEEN PAR. In fact one can remember some quite hyped movies failing to even take a half decent start when released during the month of January. 

However it appears that all that is about to change now with Top Angle Entertainment’s YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, featuring the three hot and handsome Deols, Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby all set to hit the theaters on January 14. More

Its not a hidden fact at all that Bobby Deol is in a desperate need of hit, in order to save his fading career. Bobby is still optimistic as he is giving his best to make it big. According to sources, Bobby who has no big films apart from Anil Sharma’s ‘Yamala Pagla Deewana’ and Sangeet Sivan’s next, has decided to experiment and try different genre. Recently, Bobby expressed his hatred for horror films. It is extremely surprising that Bobby who himself can not stand to horror films has completed a horror film. Bobby Deol managed to lose 10 kgs of weight in his film Chamku but now he is heavily into chocolates. “It wasn’t easy for me to lose weight. But once I made up my mind, I did it. But now I’m trying to make back that weight and binging on chocolates.” Like his dad and elder brother, Bobby Deol is now fully into family concerns. In fact the younger Deol scion is so much into production now, he wishes he had got into before.

“It’s with my film Chamku that I’ve become involved with our home production. I’ve been totally involved with its shooting and post-production. I’m like an apprentice on the job, learning about how to produce a film. My brother believes I’ve been lazy. But I now realize home productions give me the choice to do the kind of films I want to do. Outside producers only come to you with the films that THEY believe in. For Chamku, I was part of the music sitting, pre-production, post-production. It’s my baby.”

Bobby now wants to assist directors and get more proficient with the technique of filmmaking. “I’ve been part of this industry for years. And my brother is into direction. I don’t feel ready for it. I wish I was.” Source

For many people who do not know this may come as a surprise. Bobby Deol plays the part of a fashion magazine editor in the film Dostana. Says director Tarun, “I was very clear about Bobby’s character (Abhimanyu Singh) being a leader who knows what he wants from his life.”

While Jo-ABhi are dressed in casual chic clothes, Bobby is dressed in suits for the most part. Tarun says, “Bobby is a clothes horse. It’s tough making Bobby look bad! There were a couple of scenes where we needed to make him dress badly but no matter what we gave him, he looked great in everything, including a shirt off the streets. Bobby’s body language can never be tapori. Even in torn leather jeans, he looks superb and carries it off as the style of the month.”

Tarun is all praise for Bobby, “He’s one of the easiest actors to work with. He has just three questions per scene but once he’s clear about his answers he’s putty in your hands.” Source
