The maker of blockbuster films like Devdas and Black, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is awaiting a lead actor for his forthcoming film Chenab Gandhi. When the movie was first floated, it was rumoured that hunky model-turned-actor John Abraham had signed up opposite Vidya Balan, who was confirmed to be the heroine. But then sources whispered that John’s girlfriend actress Bipasha Basu had talked him into turning down the role because of Vidya Balan. John personally shot down the rumours and clarified that while he had met Bhansali, Chenab Gandhi hadn’t figured in the discussion.

All the confusion aside, the movie still lacks a hero and a source reveals that Bhansali might go back to his original choice for the role – Harman Baweja. The shoot for Chenab Gandhi was scheduled to begin in April/May, but has now been postponed to November. Though Harman had been unavailable earlier due to date clashes with Ashutosh Gowariker’s What’s Your Rashee?, by November, the actor is expected to be free to shoot for Chenab Gandhi. After being dumped in love, Harman Baweja asked sister Rowena to cut friendship with Priyanka Chopra. Harman does not want his sister to carry forward her relationship with Priyanka as she has cheated him and went ahead to date some other guy. Harman and Priyanka’s love story blossomed during the shooting of Love Story 2050. With the fall of the film, Piggy Chops also cut off her relationship with him.

A source said, “Priyanka and Rowena have known each other since 2005 when Harry Baweja was making Karam. Rowena was part of the crew and the two girls got along well. The two would often joke that whenever Rowena would make her debut as a director, Priyanka would play the lead actress in the film.”

After Harman’s strict instruction to Rowena to cut ties with her, Rowena neither called up Priyanka nor visited her in hospital. Source

Ashutosh Gowariker’s next film after Jodhaa Akbar, ‘What’s Your Raashee’ is one of the most awaited flicks this year. Starring ex-lovers Hurman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra, the flick is said to be a romantic comedy based on a Gujarati novel ‘Kimball Ravenswood’ by Shri Madhu Rye. The release date of the flick has been slated on 25th September 2009.

The film revolves around a young Gujarati man, who is on the lookout for his dream girl. He has to find his girl within 10 days in order to save his family from an unforeseen ordeal. His attempt to find the right girl leads to an array of confusion and chaos.

According to sources, the entire movie is shot in a single start-to-end schedule. The film is presented by UTV Motion Pictures and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions and will be jointly produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Sunita A.Gowariker. Amitabh Bachchan: ‘Nothing! We’re celebrating no Holi this year. Yes, I know our home is an open house on Holi every year. Hopefully we’ll be back to celebrating Holi next year. ‘This year too many tragic events have happened around us. On a personal level, my father’s passing away then my mother’s prolonged illness have suspended Holi celebrations in my house. And then, of course, the things that are happening in Mumbai city and the country. Do you think anyone is in the mood for celebration? We’re not. Maybe next year.’

After the failure of the big budget ‘Love Story 2050’ and then ‘Victory’, Harman Baweja’s got a kick from the producers of the super ambitious ‘Chenab Gandhi’. Now Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s super ambitious project has a new lead actor and it’s none another than B-Town hot body John Abraham.

The Saregama India co-produced film with Bhansali made on a whopping budget of Rs 35 crores also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan. If all goes well, this will be the actor’s fourth film with Bachchan after ‘Viruddh’, ‘Aetbaar’ and ‘Babul’ and the second with the lady he was linked up with, Vidya Balan, during ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’.

By the way, the movie’s not directed by Bhansali himself but by debutant Vibhu Puri.

A source has said, “Right now, the producers and director haven’t informed Hurman as yet. He’s in Delhi and so, no-one will confirm this right now. They are waiting for him to come back. Then, they will break the news to him.” Poor boy ! Source

The Indian cricket team recently watched Ajitpal Mangat’s film “Victory” in Sri Lanka where they have already won the one day series. After watching “Victory”, especially the scene where Harman Baweja, playing a Test cricketer, and his girlfriend Amrita Rao sleep on the same bed but with a pillow safely dividing them, cricketer Yuvraj Singh cried out, “This can’t be my story.”Confirming the incident, the film’s leading man Harman said, “It’s true when Yuvraj saw the pillow between me and Amrita in bed he said, ‘This can’t be my film’. He was also quite kicked by the sequence where I sing ‘Money Money’ with all those girls. He enjoyed the high-flying image of the cricketer shown in the film.”

“Sachin did seem impressed by my abilities. But maybe he was just being polite,” Harman told IANS. “Not one person has disliked the film.”  And whom did the cricket team like the best?

“You mean, besides me? They loved Harbhajan Singh. They feel Bhaji is really working hard on his acting and will soon become a full-fledged actor,” says Harman. Source

Q: You’ve been pretty quiet of late?

A: I’ve been working while everyone has been doing the talking. What was there to say? I work better under stress. And Ashutosh Gowariker’s What’s Your Raashee is a hard film to shoot, though I must say Gowariker keeps the atmosphere on the sets light and work-friendly. He comes with surprises all the time. Not at all rigid about what he wants.

Q: Is it tough to shoot the film when you and Priyanka have parted ways?

A: Not at all. Whether we were together or now, I don’t think our work can ever get affected. We’re thorough professionals about this. We’ve been great friends and we still are great things.

Q: I believe the two of you are absolutely normal with each other on the sets of What’s Your Raashee.

A: That just goes to prove that we continue to be friends.

Q: How hard is it to work with her after the breakup?

A: It was fabulous working with her earlier. It’s fabulous now. I don’t think personal relationships should affect the quality of my work.

Q: How friendly are you with Priyanka today?

The famous contestant of the Bigg Boss house – item girl Sambhavana Seth placed a long and intense kiss on Harman‘s cheek to his surprise when he was invited to grace the dance reality show Dancing Queen. It was Sambhavana’s pre-planned program to kiss Harman when he will come up on the stage, she got to fulfill her long desire of kissing him. 

Sambhavana was more than happy while narrating the entire incident, she said, “Ye toh kaafi solid khabar aayi hai aapke paas,” she said adding, “He’s so sweet…full of positive vibes. Maine socha ek kiss le lun. That’s the best way to get my share of the positive vibes.”

She goes on, “When I called him onto the stage, his first reaction was, ‘Please mujhe dance karne ko mat kehna.’ I told him that I want to kiss him and that he can’t stop me…and then I did.”

She is a big fan of Harman and is longing to be his mate, “Nahi, abhi mein Harman ke peeche bhagoongi. Mujhe Harman chahiye,” she says candidly. Source

After not so much impressive impact in his first film, Harman Baweja has geared up again and on a completely different track. His latest film Victory is based in the game of cricket with Brett Lee being a part of the movie as well.

Priyanka Chopra is really very supportive and is totally committed towards her friends and Harman Baweja is among them. She supports him in every way possible. She bailed him out and did her best to make his debut movie ‘Love Story 2050′ work. Alas, that didn’t work out and Harman’s Hrithik aping too did no good for him.

Now the rumur is going around that Priyanka is set to do a sizzling item number in his next flick ‘Victory’. And hold your breath, the reports are that she would be wearing nothing but a two piece. She’ll be shooting for it early in the New Year.

The Hrithik look-alike Harman Baweja is all set for a new look for Ashutosh Gowarikar’s next, “What’s your rashee?” Over the weekend, the actor was busy trying out various make overs at a photoshoot in Mehboob Studio.

With most actors working only on one film at a time, it is easier to carry out a look for the entire shooting duration. So until Christmas, Harman will be with Ashutosh Gowarikar.

After a whirlwind shooting schedule of Anees Bazme’s “Its My Life”, the actor is chilling out in Mumbai for a couple of days. Shooting for Gowarikar’s film is slated to start by the end of the week. Confesses Harman, “This is a big film. I am indeed lucky to work with such a big director so early in my career.”
