Himesh Reshammiya Owes It All To Salman Khan

Composer-singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya credits actor Salman Khan, a godfather to many newcomers, for his success in the Hindi film industry.

“For me it’s always been god, dad and Salman Khan. He (Salman) has been a driving force for me. I just want to thank him for his support. Thank you Salman bhai,” said 38-year-old Himesh, whose music in the actor’s “Bodyguard” was well-received by the audiences.

Himesh, who reportedly had a spat with Salman sometime back, minced no words while thanking the actor and his family for helping him at every stage of his decade-long career either a music director, singer or even as an actor.

“After this break of one-and-a-half years and with love and good wishes of Salman bhai, my first film “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya” was possible because of the Khan family and now my 101st film “Bodyguard” also is getting me awards. It’s all because of their love. In some way or the other Salman bhai has been the reason for my success,” said Himesh. More

Its Going To Be Himesh Reshammiya Vs Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan’s plans of making his RA.ONE as the sole release this Diwali have been foiled with Himesh Reshammiya confirming that he would be bringing his DAMADAMM on the same weekend as well. Though from screen count perspective it won’t make much difference to RA.ONE, the very fact that DAMADAMM has actually dared to step in as competition has ended up surprising quite a few.

“When it was earlier announced that Himesh Reshammiya’s fifth film as an actor, DAMADAMM, would be arriving on 27th October, many didn’t take that seriously since RA.ONE had already confirmed its plans for the same weekend. In fact Shahrukh had taken an early lead by showcasing the first look of the film way back during the World Cup cricket itself. Post that there were quite a few other teasers that were circulated by the makers of RA.ONE that ensured that it stayed in news,” observes a trade pundit. More

Salman & Himesh Share The Same Bonding Even Today

No matter what stories are published here and there, Salman denies of any break-up with the musician-cum-actor Himesh Reshammiya.

The question was raised again considering the fact that Himesh Reshammiya has composed the music for upcoming film BODYGUARD starring Salman Khan.

At a recent event Salman opened up on Himesh and clearly said, “When did we break up?” However when further asked why he and Himesh were not seen working together for all these years.

To which Salman jokingly said, “Because Himesh was very busy doing his films earlier. Now he is not so busy doing movies.” Well, whatever their equation was in the past, ultimately we are happy to know that Salman and Himesh are once again together. Source

Himesh & Salman Are Back Together With ‘Bodyguard’

This was one combination that one had been waiting to be back in Bollywood for quite some time now. Together, Himesh Reshammiya and Salman Khan had delivered close to a dozen odd chartbuster albums. However, the last album for which they had collaborated was Kyon Ki which was way back in 2005. Now more than half a decade later, the duo is coming together for Bodyguard which is Salman’s home production (Atul Agnihotri, Salman’s brother-in-law, produces the film).

Himesh’s last film for an outside banner was Namastey London, the songs of which are playing till date. However, after turning an actor, Himesh stopped doing films for outside banners. He has recently made an exception with the sequel to the film, Namastey London 2. Next step in the same direction is Bodyguard. More

Himesh Reshammiya – The Music Director Is Back

Himesh Reshammiya, the man who declared four years ago that he would compose music exclusively for the movies in which he would be casted as lead actor, has finally lifted the self imposed ban for Vipul Shah’s next. The music czar is all set to return as music director for the sequel of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Namaste London’. Interestingly, the original was the last film that Reshammiya worked on in 2007 before restricting his talent to his own films.

Talking to a daily, an industry insider shared with us, “Himesh was a on a roll as a music director and then as a singer. However, when he decided to compose music only for the films he was in, the entire industry was shocked. Now finally, after almost four years, he is back.”

Further adding, the source said, “‘Namastey London’ was his last film for an outside banner as a music director. He will work on ‘Namstey London 2’ with Vipul and Akshay. Though Himesh still hasn’t decided whether he’ll be singing for the film, he already has a repertoire of around 500 tunes.”

It is also revealed that the music will be under Himesh’s recently formed music banner HR Musik. While Himesh might have abandoned his decision to do music exclusively for films he was cast in, he has decided that he will only do films under his own music company. Source

Himesh Reshammiya On Balancing His Music & Acting Careers

He might have become the favourite punching bag for the critics but this has not dampened the acting spirit in Himesh Reshammiya. Not even a bit. Though his last film KAJRAARE was released in a hush hush manner and marked the third flop in a row in his acting career, Himesh believes that it is premature of his critics to write him off at this stage.

Talking about his acting career and the critics take on it, Himesh says, “It is not fair on the critics part to write me off. I have only had three flops whereas there are actors who have given more flops and have still kept on doing films. I should also be given a fair chance to prove myself.”

And how does he plan to balance his acting and music career? Pat comes the reply. Adds Himesh, “I am working on a strategy to establish myself as an actor now. I believe it is only a matter of few good scripts to silence my critics. I am working towards it. As far as my music is concerned, I have been making a new bank of over 200 songs which I will release under my own music label in the coming time. This way I can easily strike balance between acting and music.”

With Himesh not paying heed to critic’s advice, let’s hope he manages to silence them in the coming time. Source

Himesh Reshammiya’s Kajraare Released Only In 2 Cinema Halls Across India

These days marketing and promoting a film extensively before its release has become almost mandatory. Hence, we were completely taken by surprise when we got to know that the Himesh Reshammiya starrer Kajraare has released yesterday (15 Oct) without any fanfare. Yes…you heard it right, Kajraare has released in just 2 cinema halls across India, namely New Empire in Mumbai and Apollo in Pune and that too with just one matinee show at each of these theatres.

There is no denying the fact that after Box Office disasters such as Karzzzz and Radio, Himesh’s market value has taken a beating. However, despite that, no one expected a big budget film like Kajraare to release all of a sudden and that too with morning shows in just 2 cinema halls.

Kajraare is directed by Pooja Bhatt and produced by Bhushan and Krishan Kumar. Why the makers have taken such a sudden and shocking decision is something which remains a mystery as all attempts to contact anyone closely associated with the film proved to be futile. Source

Himesh Reshammiya Is Unhappy With The Jury Members Of IIFA

Our very own nasal singer Himesh Reshammiya is very unhappy. It is heard that he is quite angry with the jury members of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA). So much that Himesh has decided give a miss to the upcoming prestigious event – IIFA awards.

Why so? Because the panel had given a miss to his last release ‘Radio’. They had ignored the film from all the music nominations categories.

Even though the film was a dud, its music had been a big hit. As the jury members did not consider this fact, Himesh has decided to stay away.

However music composer-singer-actor dismisses these speculations by saying that it is not true. He stated that in fact he is busy abroad with his recording and other commitments and so he is not attending the event. Source

Himesh Reshammiya Is Fed Up With The Media

Now when his songs are turning out to be biggest chartbusters, the music director turned actor Himesh Reshammiya feels disgusted with media channels terming him to be a singer with nasal touch. In his recent interaction with media channels, Himesh made it clear that he loves crooning with high pitch and doesn’t go for nasal singing.

Says Himesh: “I was really sickened with people passing on comments that I have nasal touch while singing. Naturally, when anyone sings with high pitched octaves, some notes may slight get in touch modalities with nasal and that doesn’t actually mean – Nasal singing.”

To break this clichéd prototype, Himesh has crooned almost all songs in upcoming film ‘Radio’ with low-pitched tone except one song with usual traits. Source
