Much has been spoken by Bipasha Basu and Madhavan about how their ‘jodi’ is making waves, their chemistry is the selling point of JODI BREAKERS and how the leading lady ‘chased’ the script as she found it interesting enough. However this is the story which the makers wanted to tell. The untold twist in the tale is that before the film went on floors, Madhavan wasn’t too sure about Bipasha featuring as his co-star for this film.
“Since the time film’s promotion kick-started, the actors have been singing praises of each other. It appears as if they were in complete synch with each other from the day one. However there is a lot that happened behind the scenes,” says a source. More
Bipasha Basu, who was in Greece for ‘Jodi Breakers’, has wrapped up the film shoot and tells she would miss her cast and crew.
‘Greece schedule for my movie ‘Jodi Breakers’ got successfully wrapped up! I had a fabulous time shooting there.
Now it’s time to holiday in Santorini! I will surely miss the movie crew and my co-star Madhavan,’ Bipasha posted on her social networking website page. Source
It’s a romantic comedy for ‘Manu’ Madhavan opposite the sizzling and still single Bipasha Basu after his latest blockbuster Tanu Weds Manu.
The actress after her break off with John Abraham and friendly encounters with Hollywood star Josh Hartnett will now be a part of a ful fledged love story. Although in reel life!
As per sources, the film was brought to Madhavan right after the success of TWM. “He quite liked the idea and was also excited when he got to know that Bipasha was being approached to play the female lead.
Though they have known each other, the actors have never worked together,” informed the source. Bipasha’s rom-com stints in the past are long forgotten. More
It’s Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding day, and everybody is talking, and tweeting about it. So how can Bollywood be left behind?
Neha Dhupia wanted to catch the wedding on television but seemed clueless about it. ‘Wow! royalwedding …. which channel can v catch glimpses of it ?’ she tweeted.
Jiah Khan sounded excited about the wedding, and tweeted: ‘Bring on the royal wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!’
R Madhavan laughed: ‘William Weds Kate. A Perfect Match. Lol.’
Composer Vishal Dadlani wasn’t so keen on the wedding. ‘Watching the Royal Wedding. Why? Beats me. *changes channel*’ he updated. Source
R. Madhavan is indeed riding a high wave at the moment. His first release for 2011, Tanu Weds Manu , which co-stars Kangana Ranaut, had its trailer released and it is getting very positive feedback. Not only that his last release in Tamil film industry from 2010, Manmadhan Ambu is being lapped up by the audience with enormous praise for his role as Madhanagopal, a millionaire businessman that is highly suspicious of his actress fiancée, played by newcomer Trisha. The film also stars legendary actor Kamal Haasan.
The actor is over the moon by the positive response to his acting in Manmadhan Ambu with most compliments referring to his “drunken” act – there is a significant portion of the movie that his character is constantly drinking on screen. So ecstatic was the actor at compliments from his fans on twitter, he even apologised to his other followers as he retweeted some of their tweets, both good and bad: “Do forgive me for da retweets PPL-so tough to contain myself- am a Huge Kamal sir devotee-just 2dy pls unfollow for 2day if this is unbearable,” he says.
The collaboration of Kamal Haasan and Madhavan has proven quite fruitful for the actor where appreciation is concerned. Whether it’s the bratty city-bred youth of Anbe Sivam, whose life changes as he travels with a stranger played by Kamal or the small town cook that travels to another country for his family’s well being in Kamal’s own production Nala Damayanthi, which became Ramji Londonwaley two years later in 2005, the actor has taken a change in character and stepped up with his acting. Actor R Madhavan has taken the early lead in PETA India’s annual Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity poll. Madhavan, a longtime PETA supporter, says, ‘For me, being a vegetarian is about being compassionate. I love animals, so I would never eat them. Having a healthy heart is a great bonus, but I’d rather people think of me as having a good soul and a kind heart.’
R Madhavan has taken up the cause of chickens and has written to food chain CEO David Novak on behalf of PETA urging him to stop killing the birds.
‘I am sure you’re a compassionate person who agrees that animals, whether they are dogs, cats or chickens, should not be abused and that working to stop this unnecessary cruelty should be a top priority,’ Madhavan wrote.
‘Please use your unique position to stop the worst abuses of these sensitive birds by making the improvements suggested by PETA and the food chain’s own former animal welfare advisors,’ he added. Source

It’s difficult to adapt books into movies, says actor R. Madhavan, who is still basking in the success of 3 IDIOTS based on Chetan Bhagat’s book ‘Five Point Someone’. ‘A director can get an idea from a novel, but making a film from a book is difficult. Writing the screenplay is a challenge. In 3 IDIOTS, we had to change a whole lot of things,’ said the actor, who was in the capital on Sunday to promote long-time friend N Sampat Kumar’s book ‘Love on Velocity Express’.
Madhavan said he had spent several nights on Mumbai’s Juhu beach with Sampat Kumar discussing philosophy while he was struggling to get a hold in the film industry. The 40-year-old actor, who played a college boy to the hilt in 3 IDIOTS, continued showering praise on director Rajkumar Hirani for having deftly adapted the written word onto the big screen. ‘Rajkumar Hirani did a wonderful job as a narrator and director. He consulted everyone and did what he thought best for the movie. If an actor is asked to make a wish list, the desire to make movies with Hirani should top the list. He is such a meticulous director and his movies are so refreshing’.
Madhavan said he loved the popularity he enjoys both in the south and the north. ‘I love the idea of being identified as Maddy Paaji after the success of 3 IDIOTS and TEEN PATTI. In south I am referred to as ‘Maddy Thambi’,’ he said. The Tamil heartthrob, who was born in Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, said he would ‘head to Monte Carlo next month to shoot for his forthcoming Tamil movie’. More
R Madhavan, the 3 Idiots star is said to have bagged yet another project here; this time from a director who gave earlier India’s first ever football-centric film ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’ and the suspense flick ‘Chocolate’.
After a considerable gap, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is back with a biopic film this time, titled ‘Freedom’. While Madhavan will play the lead, the director revealed that he is planning to rope in another southern superstar Mohanlal for the film.
Besides, this film Vivek has another project on hand, titled 12. The film is said to be based on the famous Hollywood classic ’12 Angry Men’. “I am scouting for 12 talented actors from all across the country. I am planning to announce the film officially in the month of March,” shared the filmmaker to sources. Source
The filmstars are turning superstitious a lot these days. R Madhavan who has just recently delivered a decent hit with thriller film, 13B or Thirteen B as you may call it now has at least three more films with each having titles starting with well you guessed it right, ‘T’. These T oops three film are, Rajkumar Hirani’s Three Idiots with Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sharman Joshi, Leena Yadav’s Teen Patti and Anand Raj’s romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu.
Madhavan may well have his fourth film with a ‘T’ beginning as well since the title of that film is yet to be finalized. This film is Navdeep Singh’s (of Manorama Six Feet Under fame) spy thriller being produced by Mukesh Talreja and Nikhil Advani which has Madhavan playing a key role along side Akshay Khanna and Shahana Goswami. Maybe, the producers and director are in search of a name for the film, beginning with ‘T’. And if that happens well it would definitely mean, Madhavan feels safe in T-Company. Source
Actor R. Madhavan, who appeared on the silver screen after a long time in recently released horror film ’13B’, doesn’t mind doing multi-starrer Hindi films.
Madhavan shot to fame in Bollywood with his debut movie ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ (2001) and after that he was seen in solo lead in ‘Ramji Londonwaley’ (2005).
‘Solo leads were not in style after ‘Rehnaa Hai…’ or ‘Ramji Londonwaley’. And despite being multi-starrers, all my films have done very well both commercially and critically whether it is ‘Rang De Basanti’ or ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ for that matter,’ Madhavan told. Seems that the luck of other stars is more good for him than his own. Source
The king Khan Shah Rukh and R. Madhavan have many things in common. While Shah Rukh Khan is the undisputed king of Bollywood, Madhavan on the other hand is the undisputed king of the South. In fact many people have actually compared their acting skills on screen and even SRK is aware of this.
The two haven’t shared the screen space together yet, in fact Madhavan was supposed to star in Karan Johar’s ‘My Name Is Khan’. Unfortunately Maddy got a little too busy with Aamir’s ‘3 Idiots’ and missed the chance to pair opposite SRK. Madhavan’s ‘Guru En Aalu’ is a remake of ‘Yes Boss’ will be hitting the screens on March 20. The director of the film, Selvah shared an interesting statement at this time.
He said, “When I informed about my wish for remaking ‘Yes Boss’, Shah Rukh Khan without any pause referred Madhavan would be the right option”. Source
