Each year Deepika likes to be with her family at this time of the year. However, this year she was committed to shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela with Ranveer.
Daughter of sports person, the actress manages to be with her family on New Year day each year. However this year it was getting difficult for her to take off from shooting of Ram Leela, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but thanks to her co-star Ranveer who forced the director to postpone the film’s shoot.
Ranveer has lately been running from the sets of Ram Leela in Gujarat to the sets of Gunday in Kolkata. The actor injured himself on the sets of Gunday, which eventually affected Bhansali’s Ram Leela also.
“Ranveer Singh was shooting simultaneously for Gunday and Ram Leela. In fact, the whiskered look that he sports for Sanjay Bhansali’s film has been incorporated into his personality in Gunday for the want of a choice. Remember back in 1969 how Rajesh Khanna’s bearded look in Ittefaq had to be incorporated in Do Raaste as the superstar shot simultaneously for both,” said a source.

In 2010 Ranveer Singh made a stunning debut with the film Band Baaja Baaraat, now with two films that have already released and one in the final stages of post production, he is busy shooting two projects Ram Leela and Gunday, back to back. However the stress and hectic schedules seem to have caught up with Ranveer who injured himself while shooting.
The incident occurred at the Chandivali Studios where Ranveer was shooting for a song. Apparently, Ranveer was performing his steps on an elevated structure, when he lost his balance and fell down, hurting his back and suffering injuries on his face.
Confirming the accident, Ranveer’s spokesperson says, “Ranveer who has just completed the first schedule of Gunday, injured himself slightly while shooting the song sequence whereby his cheek has a small gash and required a few stitches. However, Ranveer is perfectly fine and is continuing with the shoot schedules as per plan.”
Though the injury may not be too serious, Ranveer jokingly said “Now I am even more in character for Gunday.”

While Ranveer Singh has happily signed films outside the parent Yash Raj banner, his costar from Ladies Versus Ricky Bahl, Parineeti Chopra, seems tied down by a binding contract that doesn’t allow her the same freedom. One hears Parineeti was very keen to sign on for the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Thuppakki which she was offered by producer Vipul Shah on behalf of director A. Murugadoss. Apparently, Akshay Kumar was also interested in getting her on board for the project as he had seen and liked the new girl on the Bollywood block in Ishaqzaade. However, Yash Raj apparently wouldn’t release Parineeti to do the outside project.Heavy trading of negotiations between the two parties finally culminated in a dead-end for Parineeti, with Aditya Chopra apparently vetoing the very idea of the girl working in an outside film at a time when she was shooting for Yash Raj’s new film with director Maneesh Sharma opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.
Says a source, “Parineeti was ready to shuttle between the two projects without letting either suffer. But she was told in no uncertain terms, that she would have to stay committed full-time to Maneesh Sharma’s film, just like the film’s leading man Sushant Singh Rajput who has not been permitted to do any other project while shooting for the Yash Raj film.”
Apparently, Akshay Kumar also intervened in the hope of some flexibility in Parineeti’s schedule. But to no avail.
It was only after it became crystal-clear that Parineeti wouldn’t be able to the Thuppakki remake that Sonakshi Sinha was sounded out, and signed. Confirming this director A Murugadoss said, “We tried really hard for Parineeti. But she was committed by contract to a project with Yash Raj Films.”
Curiously, Vipul Shah’s schedules for the Thuppakki remake don’t clash with the Maneesh Sharma film at all. So one wonders why Parineeti had to let go of such a plum project that was bound to take her career further.

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, who made his directorial debut with Meri Brother Ki Dulhan, is all set to start working on his next Gunday, starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. He says though major parts of Gunday will be shot in Kolkata, he will create Howrah streets in Mumbai only.
If his directorial debut Mere Brother Ki Dulhan was a light-romantic comedy, Gunday will depict mature romance. “This is a different kind of a film. It’s a more mature romance and it also has action and drama. I am planning to release the film in the winters of 2013,” he said.
Praising the cast of the film, he said wonderful actress Priyanka Chopra is playing the female lead. “She will look authentic and justify her character as a Bengali girl. All the three characters will be seen as Bengali in the film,” he said.

Its the season of musical chairs – Kareena in, Kareena out, Priyanka Chopra in, no no out, Deepika Padukone definitely in, sorry out, back to square one – its Kareena time.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Kareena Kapoor had had a fallout probably over extra money or maybe Bhansali didn’t want a working with an actress who would be married by the time the film went on floors.
Yes, you heard it right, finally, it is happening! After going through several options for the leading lady in his upcoming film Ram Leela, Sanjay Leela Bhansali finally settled down with Heroine star Kareena Kapoor.
A source revealed that SLB wrote Ram Leela keeping Kareena in mind. But when he realized that she was contemplating marriage to her beau Saif Ali Khan, he wasted no time in dropping her off his ambitious project claiming that he would not prefer working with an actress who would be married by the time the film goes on floors.
Soon after that he planned to cast actress from Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, but at the end of the day he realized no one could play the part of Juliet better than Bebo. Reportedly, a disheartened Sanjay had no other go but to approach Kareena again and apologise to her so that she agrees to do the film. Bebo couldn’t say no and thus obliged him.

Ranveer Singh the boy in B-Town with two hit movies in tensel town. He has been very good infront of the camera and in no time became the favorites of lots of girls throughout India.
Ranveer Singh has pulled up his socks for another hit this time and the actor is nothing less than fully confident about the report of his upcoming Lootera where he would be co-starring with Sonakshi Sinha.
Ranveer not just hopes but is sure that the film will do well as the scenes and shots are turning out to be. Vikramaditya Motwane directed Lootera has already been delayed for two months as Ranveer suffered a major injury at back and was prescribed bed rest.
But the action director Sham Kaushal didn’t change or modulated the actions scenes in the movie due to Ranveer’s injury. Producer Vikas Bahl spoke on his injury and about the further plans of changing the script saying, “If we had to change something then we wouldn’t have waited for two and half months. Sham preferred to wait till his recovery. Ranveer is absolutely fine now and there is no change at all.”
Now when all is well with Ranveer, he was quoted saying, “I really enjoyed the last three days. I am very happy with the scene we shot today; very happy with the way the film is going. It’s shaping up to be a film I am sure I will look back on with fond memories.”
So lets see what happens to his confidence and all the best for his film.
Those of you who love to talk about Ranveer-Sonakshi affair, here is the update. In a latest interview Sonakshi Sinha has rubbished reports of link-up between her and her current co-actor Ranveer Singh.
In a candid chat, the actress has spoken in detail about the alleged affair between her and Ranveer, which has been doing rounds in the media lately. Talking about the alleged love affair, Sonakshi says, “Ranveer is not my type at all. Such link-up reports affect me at times since I am answerable to my parents. I don’t know why someone would try to misconstrue our professional chemistry.”
While Sonakshi might deny being romantically involved with Ranveer, the actress however holds him in great esteem. Says she, “He’s full of energy, and just the opposite of what I am as an actor. He likes to prepare for his scenes and rehearse a lot; you know what you call method acting. He continues to stay in character even when the camera is switched off. I, on the other hand, hate to rehearse and I switch off with the camera. It makes for an interesting combination and it shows on screen.” More
After a dream debut with Band Baaja Baaraat, little did Ranveer Singh anticipate that his second film with Yashraj would do nothing for him. Probably why the actor who has been much sought after by most producers did not think twice before moving onto to greener pastures.
He has now bagged two big-budget films including Lootera and Magadheera with other production houses, without really keeping his three-film contract with Yashraj. Says a source, “Ranveer has been wanting to do a big-budget film for a while now and has been hinting the same to Yashraj as well. More
Actress Sonakshi Sinha has denied the reports of dating Ranveer Singh, her co-star in the film LOOTERA. A mainstream newspaper carried a news story stating that the actress is dating Ranveer Singh. Sonakshi rubbished the news by mentioning that she is not dating anyone.
Sonakshi posted on a micro-blogging site saying, ”I know it makes a good sensational copy to link co-stars and makes for great gossip, but I just want to confirm that I am not dating or in a romantic relationship with anyone.”
Sonakshi even mentioned her hatred for Valentine’s Day. She tweeted, ”Oh ya – AND sorry to burst your bubble but I absolutely loathe Valentine’s Day, so for me to fuss around it, would be most unlikely!” Source
Heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh has left the crew of LOOTERA stranded. The shooting of the keenly awaited Ranveer Singh – Sonakshi Sinha starrer film was ruined due to excessive snowfall in Gawar (3 km from Dalhousie), resulting in the cancellation of the film’s second schedule. The first schedule was completed in Mumbai in December 2011.
It became evident from the Balaji CEO’s tweet that Ranveer Singh was stranded in Jammu for one or two days. And after reaching Dalhousie he realised that the shoot had been called off as the set was damaged. The unit is expected to return to Mumbai and proceed to Kolkata thereafter to shoot the next schedule. The Himachal schedule is likely to take place later, once the severe weather conditions eases out. More
All the apprehension about Sonakshi Sinha being suspect of Ranveer Singh’s overfriendly ways turned unfounded when the girl took no time in getting into the groove with her Lootera co-star.
An off-the-cuff compliment by Sonakshi Sinha on a chat show (she called Ranveer Singh ‘hot) is all it took for the gossip mills to hook the two up together as the next item. And there were hints of a few sparks between the two as they shot for a magazine, but then came the reports that Sonakashi was put off by Ranveer’s over-friendly ways.
These reports were surely not music to the ears of the crew of the film Lootera, featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh. The chill between the leading pair meant no chemistry and therefore a deadpan onscreen romance. More
Although a good to decent opening was very much on the cards and was predicted by most trade pundits yet Yash Raj Films’ LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL opened to a dull to average response at the box-office. This came as quite a surprise to many who were expecting the film to open much better. But when we think logically the under-performance of the Ranveer-Anushka starrer does not come as a shock, especially if we compare it to the teams’ first film together, BAND BAAJA BAARAAT. And here is why!
First of all while the characters of the lead actors Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in BAND BAAJA BAARAAT were very identifiable and rooted and was a source of inspiration to many struggling youths, the casting of Ranveer Singh as a Casanova (especially because of his boy-next-door looks) and Anushka Sharma as a hot and sexy con-woman did not have many takers, nor was it in any way identifiable.
Quite similarly the story of BAND BAAJA BAARAAT was very inspirational and was humorously depicted as well as identifiable, but there was not much to identify from the story idea of LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL, especially because it had one man conning many women and not the other way around! More
