Salman Khan is the highest paid actor in Bollywood and now he is also the highest paid actor on television. Last year Salman Khan took Rs 2.8-3 crore per episode but for Bigg Boss 6, the actor has charged a whopping amount of Rs 3.8 to Rs 4 crore per episode.

A source says, “Salman relates to Bigg Boss because of the concept and its appeal. The fact that he insisted that the show become family-oriented and air at 9 pm, shows his involvement and interest in it.”

Katrina said, “Well, I trusted Kabir here. He comes with a very good sense of story and drama while his strong execution further demonstrates his solid grasp of cinema. He knows how to build drama and enhance it with visual treatment. Coming to your point around me believing in the script of Ek Tha Tiger then well, I had a lot of faith in the film even when just a basic thread was narrated to me. Later when I heard the entire script and then was a part of the shoot, my belief in the film and Kabir was further reinforced.”

Katrina further said, “One thing about Kabir is that he has a very strong role for his heroine. He never sees a woman as an ornamental thing where she comes for five songs and then goes away. If a heroine is cast then she ought to have a very strong and important character. Due to that reason I never felt tense about how my role would ultimately shape up on-screen.”

Thousands of grieving supporters and family on Wednesday bade a tearful adieu to Union minister Vilasrao Deshmukh whose mortal remains were consigned to flames at his native Babhalgaon village from where he began his political journey as an obscure sarpanch four decades ago.

A sea of humanity, including hundreds of moist-eyed women, converged here, on the outskirts of district town of Latur, for the last glimpse of the illustrious son of the soil who rose in their midst to stride the corridors of power in Mumbai and Delhi.

“I am feeling very sorry. I have known Vilasrao Deshmukh for years. Riteish is a close friend of mine, I spoke to him,” Shah Rukh Khan told reporters here at an event.

“I am very sad. It is unexpected. He was a wonderful gentleman apart from being the Chief Minister. I am deeply disturbed. I am very sorry to hear this… my respects to the family,” SRK added.

The last rites were performed by Deshmukh’s eldest son and Latur town MLA Amit at a family farm close to where his father Dagdojirao Deshmukh was cremated.

Deshmukh, 67, died yesterday at Chennai’s Global Hospital from serious liver ailment, a week after he was flown in an air ambulance from Mumbai in a critical condition.

Earlier, a solemn-looking Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi placed wreaths on the casket carrying the body of Deshmukh, state’s tallest Congress leader and twice chief minister, at Dayanand Vidyalaya where it lay in state for public to pay their last respects.

Gandhi walked up to Deshmukh’s widow Vaishali, who fought back tears, and held her in comforting embrace as the Prime Minister offered his condolences to the departed leader’s son Amit. Deshmukh’s teary-eyed family members, including his wife, actor son Riteish and Dheeraj, acknowledged with gratitude the condolences with folded hands.

Actress Raveena Tandon reached out to both Riteish and his actress wife Genelia D’Souza on twitter. “Rest In Peace Vilasrao Deshmukh. Condolences to the bereaved family, @Riteishd and @geneliad, words cannot express the shock nd grief we are feeling,” she wrote.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi offered her condolences, saying he was too young to die. “Vilasrao Deshmukh no more. Too young to die. As CM he gave Nivara a lot of support for our slum rehabilitation project. Condolences to the family.”

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, on Tuesday, confirmed her single status and admitted she has broken up with A-lister Salman Khan, putting an end to speculation surrounding her personal life.

But so much single Kats has to say something about it. Katrina Kaif, who always has named it just friends with vintage juvenile philanderer of B-town Ranbir Kapoor, says that in spite of visiting Ranbir’s pad such a late night, she is still very much single.

Katrina has always been the talk of the table, earlier it was due to her alleged link up with Salman Khan and afterwards due to their relationship which went kaput in the air. And now it seems like unstoppable with Kat’s associations with such affair rumors and the recent one popping up with heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor.

“And if Salman Khan has said he’s single and if I’m single, the rest is easy to figure out,” said Kaif. “If someone gets injured, that’s Ok but God forbid if someone dies in these mishaps, then the responsibility falls on us. Then if our security guard pushes someone to protect us, then that also becomes a big issue. So it’s better to stay away from all this,” he added.

Meanwhile, Salman, who is in an excellent phase of his career where anything he touches turns to gold, says the credit for it goes to those who work behind the scenes to make an excellent final product.
