Bollywood’s favourite chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor is raring to get back onscreen as a hot cop in Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero!’ co-starring ‘Barfi’ sensation Illeana D’Cruz.

Well, don’t get confused, it’s the reel Shahid we are talking of. Buzz states that after doing some lovey-dovey roles, Shasha is taking the route to Masala entertainment. In his next to come Phata Poster Nikla Hero, one will see Shahid in a new avatar. This Rajkumar Santoshi film recently came out with its first look where Shahid was seen with his leading lady Ileana D’Cruz.

In the sequence as heard, Ileana gets pestered by some goons and Shahid Kapoor comes to her rescue. The actor has confidently shot for the sequence and it is indeed appreciative to see him fighting bad people like this. Ileana and Shahid shot for this scene in the back lanes of Lokhandwala. In the scene also we see Ileana walking on the road on the side of a complex in Lokhandwala and guys stalking her.

A self-declared Yash Chopra fan, Kunal Kohli has had a remarkable career thus far. He didn’t have a great beginning with MUJHSE DOSTI KAROGE, but surprised one and all with his dexterity in films like HUM TUM and FANAA. THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC couldn’t restructure the magic of HUM TUM, but all eyes are on his new outing TERI MERI KAHAANI. The question is, will he be able to strike a chord this time?

Preceding its release, the tittle-tattle went on an overdrive asserting that TERI MERI KAHAANI bears a striking semblance to the 2005 Taiwanese film THREE TIMES, which featured three chronologically separate love stories. Both, the Hou Hsiao-Hsien directed project and Kunal’s film are positioned over three time frames where the hero and the heroine find love in different circumstances. While the Taiwanese film was set in 1911, 1966 and 2005, TERI MERI KAHAANI is set in 1910, 1960 and present-day U.K.

There is no doubt in the fact that the movie falls flat for its weak plot and storyline which offers nothing new to the audience which they would take home and cherish for days. There is no sense of chronology as the narrative begins with 1960, moves to 2012 and then, bizarrely, comes back to 1910.

Sunil Patel’s cinematography in the movie is just breathtaking . Apart from lead actors, the supporting stars like Prachi Desai and Neha Sharma too have done a good job. Costume designers Manish Malhotra, Kunal Rawal needs a special mention as they have done a marvellous job to make the 1910 and 60′s characters look more realistic and genuine. Priyanka looks stunning and is a perfect fit as the typical sixties heroine in some very beautiful sparkly costumes. And Shahid looks very dapper and dashing.

Teri Meri Kahaani gives the male protagonist another life and another chance to get things right. This time around the film travels all of a century back in time to Sargodha village, Lahore. So there we go – back to square one. Teri Meri Kahaani is pretty much like the loves of the film’s male protagonist – it pours out all it has. But what is has simply isn’t enough.

After promoting their forthcoming film “Teri Meri Kahaani” at the 13th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), actors Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor are now in Melborne for promotion.

“Just landed in Melbourne. My first time in Australia but just for a day for Teri Meri Kahaani promotions,” Shahid tweeted.

Directed by Kunal Kohli, the romance drama will travel through three time zone – 1910, 1960, and 2012 and it sees Priyanka and Shahid pairing up again after “Kaminey”. It releases June 22. Source

Shahid Kapoor, who is looking forward to the release of his forthcoming film ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’, is all praise for his co-star Priyanka Chopra. Recently, while addressing the media, Kapoor raved about PC and said that according to him, she is one of the most hardworking actresses in the industry today.

“Priyanka is probably the most dedicated, focused and positive co-actor that I have worked with.  We are friend so obviously it makes it easier and more comfortable but when we did ‘Kaminey’ we didn’t really know each other, in fact we were wary of each other, we didn’t even know if we would get along together. She didn’t have too many good things to say about me and neither did I. But once the camera came on and once we started acting together we really had a good time and I think that showed on camera,” said the 31-year-old actor.

“We had a lot of fun on the sets of ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ as well. Honestly it’s always an absolute pleasure working with her because she’s a very fine actor,” he further added.

In his almost a decade-old Bollywood career, Shahid Kapoor has gone through a lot of personal and professional ups and downs. But despite as many as six back-to-back box office disappointments behind him, he is undeterred because he feels success can do more harm than failure.

“Success can be more dangerous than failure. When you are successful, you feel that you are doing everything right. So, failure can teach you a lot. I just believe in ‘Go out and do your best,’” Shahid told IANS.

After Vishal Bharadwaj’s hit film “Kaminey” in which he featured in a double role opposite Priyanka Chopra, Shahid was seen in “Dil Bole Hadippa!”, “Chance Pe Dance”, “Paathshaala”, “Badmaash Company”, “Milenge Milenge” and “Mausam”. Alas, none of them generated good business.

Now he will once again be seen with Priyanka, his rumoured former girlfriend, in Kunal Kohli’s “Teri Meri Kahaani”. He is hopeful their chemistry will work for the film, which he says is diametrically different from “Kaminey”. More

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor says that he agreed to host the 13th edition of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Singapore June 7-9 after a lot of people persuaded him.

“It took a lot of people to convince me that I could do this. I love performing in front of a live audience. IIFA and I go a long way back, but we were never able to come together. So I am very excited that now I am being able to do something,” Shahid Kapoor, who hosted this year’s Filmfare with Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan, told reporters on Monday.

Bipasha Basu, who will attend the event, said, “Right from the time when I was a debutant and till now, it’s been almost 10 years and I think I had a wonderful experience with IIFA. I will be performing at the event as well.” More

“Get a good Hindi dialogue writer” is what Shahid Kapoor advised director Linguswamy when the Tamil-to-Hindi remake of his Tamil hit “Vettai” was not working out. Now everything is sorted out and the movie is set to go on floors in June.

Shahid Kapoor joined the project on condition that a reliable and sound Hindi dialogue writer be brought into the project. So Prasoon Joshi will likely pen the dialogues for the movie that will go on floors in June.

Barely able to communicate in English, Linguswamy said: “I cannot communicate in Hindi. And the dialogues were not being translated properly. That was the main problem. Now my producer UTV is hiring a dialogue writer of their choice. That writer will be getting together with the Tamil dialogue writer of ‘Vettai’ to get the essence of the dialogues.”

Linguswamy admits the words were getting in the way.

“We’ve sorted out that problem and now we’re getting ready to start shooting. You must understand I’ve never done a Hindi film. And it’s an all-new experience for me. The Hindi version of Vettai has to be totally different from the Tamil. It’s a different culture for the national market. And I’m trying to understand the market,” he said. More

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has filed a police complaint against the daughter of yesteryear actor Raaj Kumar accusing her of stalking him.

The Mumbai police registered a non-cognisable offence against Vastavikta Pandit (33) after Shahid alleged that she had been harassing him for last six months.

In his complaint, Shahid said that she often blocked his way when he left his house to say that she was his biggest fan. On one occasion she allegedly entered the building where Shahid lives and kept knocking on his door.

Police said that they were trying to trace Vastavikta, and would issue her a warning. Source

Looks like the adage of ‘life coming back full circle’ indeed holds true for Shahid Kapoor. He enjoyed a huge rom-com success in the form of JAB WE MET soon after he broke up with Kareena Kapoor. Now that is hoping for another smash success to bring him back in the reckoning in a big way, his pairing with Priyanka Chopra (another ex-girlfriend) could well prove lucky in TERI MERI KAHAANI.

“Isn’t it a strange coincidence,” quips an insider, “From one break up to another, Shahid is going through an eventful innings. What is all the more surprising is that his chemistry with the women he has been in love pretty much reflects on screen as well. He did JAB WE MET with Kareena when they were together and the results were there to be seen. On the other hand even though they were into a ‘kabhi haan kabhi naa’ relationship status during the beginning of TERI MERI KAHAANI, together Shahid and Priyanka are glowing on screen. Now this is what chemistry is all about.” More

They aren’t the best of friends, as reported by a section of the press. But that isn’t stopping Ranbir Kapoor from making a special request to Shahid to join his world tour in August. This comes in the wake of the news of both of them bonding big time in Macau at an awards event recently.

Shahid had earlier opted out of the world tour after the director of his next film fell ill that resulted in the shoot being postponed. Rishi Kapoor who is also the producer of the tour confirms Shahid’s inclusion.

He says, “Shahid and my son have become good friends. He is likely to join us. The rest of the details are still being finalised.”

Actress Sonam Kapoor denies reports of having problems with actor Shahid Kapoor and director Punit Malhotra.

It was reported that the 26-year-old, who worked in Malhotra’s directorial debut “I Hate Luv Storys”, has turned down a film by the young director because he has roped in Shahid, her “Mausam” co-star in the male lead.

However, Sonam took to Twitter to shoot down the reports and wrote: “I’m hearing the funniest rumours about myself! In Thailand, and all I can say is I’m on the floor laughing.”

“Okay morning guys I’m not mad at Shahid Kapoor or Punit Malhotra and I’m not dating anyone! I’m minding my own business and working,” she further tweeted. Source
