Sharman Joshi might not be the talk of tinsel town every day but the boy surely knows how to leave a mark. Since his debut in 1999, Sharman has done a variety of films. Though his films like STYLE or EXCUSE ME have been one of the “blink and you miss” kinds, Sharman has surely carved a niche for himself in the industry with movies like GODMOTHER, LAJJA and LIFE IN A… METRO . With brilliant performances in 3 IDIOTS and RANG DE BASANTI, Sharman Joshi has proved himself to be a brilliant and versatile actor.
This is probably one of the reasons that VCF has chosen Sharman to be a part of their next FERRARI KI SAWARI. Capable of connecting with the audience on an emotional level, Sharman has done a commendable job in his portrayal of Raju Rastogi in the movie 3 IDIOTS. Movies with a social and cultural message have generally been portrayed well by actors who are more grounded and do not have a star appeal. Since all VCF movies fit the category, Sharman will do exceptionally well to provoke the raw feelings of the audience. More

CNN-IBN caught up with Sharman Joshi and got him talking about the film and how he bagged the role of an idiot.
“We had a great time. We stayed in the hostels, ate the mess food and up on the stairs of the place there was a lounge where all the students would go and drink and party. Most of the times we joined them and yes it was an official bar,” he reveals. And Joshi also revealed how he bagged a role in the Rajkumar Hirani film.
“I first bumped into Rajkumar Hirani in the bathroom of PVR. He said he wanted to work with me and narrated the script of 3 Idiots. We were inside the bathroom for 20 minutes while my wife waited alone outside. The second time I bumped into him in the same bathroom, and I was like so if I need to find you, I should come to this bathroom, and that is when we fixed up a meeting. I was clear then that if we do meet, we should meet in a decent place like an office, not in the bathroom,” he says.
Well this is probably the first case of a public toilet turning a lucky charm of sorts. Source
