Ameesha says, “These statements are news to me. I have never shown willingness to contest from Rajkot. I have been approached by many political parties over the last seven years to contest. People are keen that I enter politics. They feel I have a headstart as my grandfather Rajni Patel was Indira Gandhi’s right- hand man and an eminent politician.

However Ameesha doesn’t completely dismiss the idea of becoming a politician later. She says, “I will be interested in entering politics in a couple of years perhaps, but not right now. Right now, I am too young and inexperienced.”

Bollywood’s most scintillating diva Amisha Patel will contest the Lok Sabha election from Rajkot in Gujarat on a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) ticket, a party official said Saturday.

“I called up Amishaji yesterday and sought her consent. She agreed immediately,” NCP chief for Gujarat Jayant Patel told.

He said Amisha has her roots in Gujarat. She hails from Sarsa assembly segment near Anand district.

“I have known the family of the actress for years and can say with confidence that her contesting will be a winning proposition for NCP in Saurashtra region,” Jayant Patel said. Source

Bollywood latest hottie actress Amisha Patel has taken another drastic step after breaking up with her long-time boyfriend Vikram Bhatt. This may come in as a surprise for many but it’s true that the actress has dropped her surname ‘Patel’. She wanted her name to appear as Amisha in the credit titles of her latest film Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic.

Director of the film Kunal Kohli revealed that Amisha wanted her name to appear without her family surname. He added that it must be because of some numerological reason. Amisha’s mother Asha Patel is not aware of it and so too is her brother Ashmit Patel.

It may be recalled that Amisha broke off all ties with her parents Amit and Asha Patel a few years ago over monetary issues. She alleged that her parents misused her funds and even went to the court asking them to return her money.

Recently, her parents said that they would welcome their daughter, who had split with Vikram Bhatt, thus breathing some hope of reunion. However, the estranged daughter is still in no mood to return to her family. In fact, she has worsened the ties by dropping her surname ‘Patel’.

Ameesha is there in the film right from the opening almost to the end. What was Kunal Kohli thinking about when he kept insisting in all his press interviews that she had just a song and few scenes? That was untrue.” Our source adds, “In fact, Kunal spent a lot of time money and effort in styling Ameesha’s character.  Her character is inspired by Malaika Arora. Kunal gave Ameesha all the sexiest dresses on this side of Catherine Zeta-Jones while Rani was given just one dress to wear throughout the film.

The excuse was that as a nanny she had to be austerely dressed. But don’t nannies change their clothes ? Says Rani’s friend, “Rani has heard some of the really catty comments on her performance on television. She has never felt threatened by any co-star’s presence, male or female. In fact she’s happy that Ameesha is getting recognition for Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. But she is saddened by the fact that her performance is being judged by her clothes.”

Bollywood actress Amisha Patel is poised to set the silver screen on fire with her sizzling act in the upcoming Yash Raj production film Thoda Pyar, Thoda Magic. The glamorous actress, who is paired opposite actor Saif Ali Khan in an scorching item number Lazy Lamhe admits it is really a hot number.

“Well, whether I am looking sexy or not, you have to watch the film, but yes for the first time I am wearing clothes that I never wore before,” says the sultry actress, who made her acting debut with the blockbuster Kaho Na Pyar Hai in 2000. “This song is really hot and will be the turning point of the film. You will see much more of me. My character Mallaika is different, but entertaining in this movie,” she says.
