Mohammad Ashraf Gondal, vice chairman of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Pakistan, told us, “The film was reviewed by the CBFC in Islamabad on Thursday afternoon, after which they gave permission to screen the movie in Pakistan’s theatres.” Sheikh Amjad Rasheed, chairman, IMGC global entertainment, the distributor of the movie in Pakistan, said, “Until Wednesday, there were issues regarding the content of the movie, especially with the number 786.”

Ajay Devgn has no Competition with Any Of Khans

The entire star cast of Bol Bachchan is on the ninth sky these days as the flick is getting a stupendous response from the audience moreover it is all set to touch the benchmark of 100 crores soon. Film pundits hold a view that the magic of Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty has worked again.

Bol Bachchan has picked up the way everyone had expected from a Rohit Shetty – Ajay Devgan movie. It is doing great business and people are pretty confident that this too will enter the Rs. 100 Crore club after Golmaal Returns and Singham. So, now Ajay has turned his attention towards his next movie ‘Son Of Sardar’ which releases this Diwali and will take on Shahrukh Khan’s romantic movie directed by Yash Chopra. But tell this to Ajay and he dismisses the thought saying he is not taking on anyone.

When asked if he thinks the 100 Crore club is not restricted to only Khans anymore, Ajay said that not every film by the Khans did well at the theatres. They used to deliver hit films before and they still are doing the same. Earlier, silver jubilee collections were the benchmark and now it is Rs. 100 Crores.

On being quizzed, he cleared the air and told the sources, “I am not taking on any Khan. My film is an entertainer and Diwali is the right time to release it. It is a complete masala film and I am least concerned about taking on anybody. I don’t wish to take on any one and I don’t think I am big enough to take on anyone. I am just concentrating on my film.”

Abhishek Bachchan Wows The film fraternity with his performance in Bol Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan has wowed film fraternity with his rib-tickling performance in “Bol Bachchan” – Kunal Kohli said he is “phenomenal” in the movie, while Ashutosh Gowariker found him “outstanding”.

Rohit Shetty’s “Bol Bachchan” was screened for Bollywood Thursday. The guest liked the slapstick comedy as well as Ajay Devgn and others performances, but Abhishek impressed them the most. The film has hit screens Friday.

This is what they have to say:

Kunal Kohli: It was absolutely hilarious. I think Rohit Shetty and team have done an outstanding job. Abhishek is phenomenal, Ajay is also fantastic. Everyone has done a great job. I was laughing so much, my jaws are still hurting.

Ashutosh Gowariker: Very good, a riotous film, very funny. I think Ajay and Abhishek are brilliant in the film. The entire cast is brilliant but I found Abhishek outstanding.

Suniel Shetty: Mind blowing! Abhishek’s best performance. Abhishek at his best and I was reminded of Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) in his young days. Ajay is also fantastic. The whole film is outstanding and according to me, it should be the year’s biggest grosser. I don’t believe in Rs.100 crore or Rs.200 crore, but it is a true entertainer.

Prakash Jha: It’s sheer madness, lovely, brilliant film. He (Rohit Shetty) has surpassed his “Golmaal”.

Meanwhile, Abhishek is overwhelmed with the response.

“So far the response has been fantastic. You can see I am smiling. I am very, very happy that initial screenings have gone well. The audience will watch it now and fingers crossed,” the 36-year-old said at the screening.

When told that his work is being appreciated the most, Abhishek said: “Thank you for saying this. I hope the audience also loves it. Everyone has worked hard and it feels great when you ask such questions.”

Bol Bachchan Could Not Entertain The Audiences

Cast : Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Asin, Prachi Desai, Neeraj Vora

Director : Rohit Shetty

Rating : 1* On 5

Just after a cameo jig in the title song, Big B offers a disclaimer: he isn’t a part of this film, even though his name is. And that is hint enough for the wise. But for those who don’t know, Bol Bachchan (BB) jams chopsticks up the nose of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s comic classic ‘Gol Maal’ and digs itself six feet under with it. While the story is same in theory, being a Rohit Shetty film only adds some cars nailing somersaults, trucks attempting a ballet, baddies playing mid-air Garba after being biffed and Ajay Devgn drawing his eyebrows close enough to show that he means business.

The story has Abhishek Bachchan as Abbas and sister Sania (Asin) left in dreadful conditions after losing their inherited possessions to a relative. Following an advice from family friend Shastri, they make a shift to Ranakpur, b, where they bump into a pack of crowded actors including Ajay Devgn. Rest follows a round and round crazy confusion in story.

If you were thinking that two Bachchans (Amitabh Bachchan has guest appearance in the movie) make it worth watching then watch your words as double sometimes can bring trouble. Abhishek Bachchan in over glitzy, shimmery flower prints has not been able to come up well with the character. Ajay Devgn who ends up speaking not-so-funny Hinglish one liners couldn’t retain the fun element in the movie. The plot is not strong enough and script is not well written to justify the character.

Mooch nahin toh kuch nahin’ may seem like an understatement in this film as almost everyone, excluding Asin and Prachi (thankfully!) proudly jounce their bushy glory on their upper lips. But with a cardboard set and not enough costumes for all the extras, glueing on a mooch can be a cost-effective and efficient way to portray a village in Rajasthan. Kay bole se, Producer-sa?
