Deepika Padukone Looking Hot At The Lakme Fashion Week

Two of the biggest designers in India; Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi Mukherjee left a lasting impression on the other designers and attendees at the Lakme Fashion Week 2009.

Manish Malhotra was even kind enough to comment on his clothes, saying that “My collections are all about luxury. They’re very pretty, feminine, feel good…colors for men–they are more textured…So I mean if you saw the clothes… there was no jewelry. The whole take to it was a bit more modern.” Deepika Padukone who appears to be a big fan had a lot to say about the fashion forward designer as well. She said with a smile “Manish, I mean again I think he’s a wonderful person and I think that’s what has made him so successful–the fact that he makes good clothes. And he has always been there for…for me at least”. Source

Deepika Padukone Sizzles On The Ramp

Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone walked down the ramp for top designers Rana Gill and Rina Dhaka at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW). The theme of the show, sponsored by Fiama Di Wills, was Nature Meets Science. While Rana was inspired by rich colours, Rina’s work symbolised technology and science, bringing together different motifs and textures in her range.

Deepika donned a light pink printed gown with a corset top for Rana’s show late Saturday while for Rana’s collection, the model-turned-actress sported a short cream dress, showing off her long legs. Elaborating on her collection, Rana told that the real inspiration behind her line were peacock colours.

‘This time I have tried to do some experimentation and do some thing different. Even though my signature prints are very prominent here but I have used loads of solids this time,’ Rana said.  ‘I have also used a lot of peacock colours like emerald green, wine berry and medieval blues,’ she added. Bollywood Celebrating Holi In Its own Style

As already reported bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan stayed away from Holi celebrations and so did others for various reasons. A sneak peek at how the Bollywood stars spent the day.

Amitabh Bachchan: ‘Nothing! We’re celebrating no Holi this year. Yes, I know our home is an open house on Holi every year. Hopefully we’ll be back to celebrating Holi next year. ‘This year too many tragic events have happened around us. On a personal level, my father’s passing away then my mother’s prolonged illness have suspended Holi celebrations in my house. And then, of course, the things that are happening in Mumbai city and the country. Do you think anyone is in the mood for celebration? We’re not. Maybe next year.’

Preity Zinta: ‘What am I doing for Holi? Nothing. Sleeping the whole day. Recovering from my jet lag after my trip to New Zealand. In any case, I think Holi has lost its original spirit long back.’

Deepika Padukone: ‘I’ll have the day off. I’ll celebrate with my family and close friends.’

Farhan Akhtar: ‘For the time in living memory I won’t be home for Holi. I’ll be shooting abroad. It breaks my heart to miss Holi. Can’t be helped.’

Bipasha Basu: ‘I’ve no Holi plans. I’m allergic to the abeer and other Holi colours. I’ll spend Holi with my family, devouring Holi delicacies. It’s a diet-free day for me.’

Abhishek Bachchan: ‘I’ll be shooting. No Holi this year at home. Just work.’

Genelia D’Souza: ‘I’ll be shooting In Delhi on Holi.’

Hurman S. Baweja: ‘I’ll be shooting in Delhi for ‘It’s My Life’. I think my lightmen, camera crew, director and co-stars will be my Holi victims. Watch out, here I come.’

Himesh Reshammiya: ‘As always I prefer to work on auspicious days. I’ll be recording a new song for ‘Ishq Unplugged’ on Holi.’

Urmila Matondkar: ‘I’m not much of a Holi person. I’ll be chilling at home watching some good movies and hoping no one gets rowdy with women who have to step out of their homes.’

Celina Jaitley: ‘This Holi I’m in Hyderabad. I’ll be spending it with the cast and crew.’

Tusshar Kapoor: ‘I’ll be meeting up with my friends for lunch and not playing Holi, since I stopped doing that long ago.’ Source

Deepika Padukone Has Highest Regards For Ranbir Kapoor’s Parents

Deepika Padukone moves away from her Chandni Chowk To China act to do a very ‘today’ film about a contemporary relationship in Imtiaz Ali’s film with Saif Ali Khan.

“It’s a very contemporary take on relationships, the way couples feel in this day age. It’s a very unusual film. Very real. It will connect with contemporary couples. I sure did connect with it.”

Like Kareena, Deepika has decided to stay mum about her personal life. “The only time Ranbir and I have spoken is about each other is when we wanted to talk confess our love. Then they’ve been bringing us together, splitting us up…I’m very secure and happy in our relationship. ”

Sidelining all speculation about Ranbir Kapoor’s mother being disapproving of her, Deepika says, “I’ve only met her a couple of times and hardly interacted with Ranbir’s parents. I’ve the highest regard for her. Ranbir and I will get to know each other’s parents when the time is right. At the moment we’re both focused on our careers. ” Source

Ranbir & Deepika Watched Late Night Movie At The Last Row Corner Seats Of The Hall

The youngest love couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were spotted at a recent late-night show at a Juhu multiplex. The evening, which started off with what looked like a tiff between the two, but ended with the two lovers making up.

Our source reveals, “It was a late-night show for Marley and Me. The hall had only a handful of people present. Ranbir and Deepika got the best seats in the house right in the last row in the corner with ample privacy. The couple looked a little distant.

Ranbir was pre-occupied on his phone and Deepika was looking very bored. At some point, they began talking and then made up and made out.

The people who were present at the screening at some point screamed at them to ‘get a room’, which was ignored by Ranbir.”

After the movie, the couple made their way to the car park where Ranbir’s brand new Range Rover was waiting with his driver.

Ranbir ordered the driver to get on the back seat while he and Deepika sat in the front and made their way towards Bandra. Source

After the failure of her film Chandni Chowk To China, Deepika Padukone has refused to comment on reports that she has proved unlucky for co-star Akshay Kumar.

Deepika Padukone Beats Katrina Kaif in Popularity

According to Yahoo, Deepika Padukone is now the most searched for Bollywood actress, overtaking the previous lead Katrina Kaif, in one crude measure of popuarity. Shilpa Shetty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Bipasha Basu also featured prominently in the list. Deepika will be popping up in an item number in Billu Barber soon and is currently working on Love Aaj Kal with Saif Ali Khan and Rahul Khanna.

Although Chandni Chowk to China was not as great a success as had been hoped, Deepika’s fringed look in the movie appears to have caught on with the younger generation with stylists suggesting that bangs are back. “Sporting a fringe will be the coolest thing of this year as the style is back in vogue,” says stylist Mallika Bhat, “It hides your age and makes you look younger. Fringe goes well for people who have a broad forehead - when fringes fall on their forehead, it gives a definite shape to their face cut.”

As a style icon, who does Deepika herself look up to? “I look up to Sushmita Sen when it comes to style,” she confesses, “I like to wear clothes that make me feel comfortable. I am not a very brand conscious person. The one thing that is most important for me is comfort. I have to be comfortable in whatever I am wearing.”

Deepika Padukone - No Dressing Sense

The story started initially on January 7, 2009 when Deepika Padukone walked the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Chandni Chowk To China. Since then, her outfits have been the talk of the town and mostly for the worse.

This elegant see-through cream sari with embroidery and embellishments which she wore in LA, accentuated Deepika`s slender figure. But the green velvet and sheer fabric sleeveless blouse with silver gota work was a shocking mismatch and distracted attention from both the sari and her lovely face.

Seems that Ranbir has liked this sense of fashion very much that is why she is continuing this offbeat fashion. Source
