Kajol Is A Strict Mother To Her Children

Since the birth of her second child Kajol has been on a break. The actress feels that a break every now and then makes life all the more interesting. Here’s are a few excerpts from an interview with the actress.

Question: You’re said to be the strict parent. Apparently, Ajay doesn’t like you scolding your children when he’s at home.

Kajol: I have to be strict because I’m more of an ‘at home’ parent. When Ajay is around, it’s playtime. Our children are used to me in his absence.

Question: Seeing them grow up, what do you recall of your own childhood?

Kajol: I feel very bad for my mother, granny, aunts and uncles. I was much more of a brat than my children are. Of course, I was an angel when my mom was around; then I was a monster, a cute lovable monster. More

Kajol Is Learning Western Dance

Though Kajol is still on a break from films after delivering her second child almost a year ago (her son Yug turns one on September 13), the actress has found a fun way of keeping herself fit and occupied.

She has been learning Western dance at her friend Bhavesh Gandhi’s institute. What’s more, she will soon match steps with the students.

Confirms Kajol, “I am just doing one special class.”

The actress is slated to get jiggy with dance enthusiasts at the institute’s branch in Bandra in the coming weeks.

There will be strut jazz, salsa, contemporary, fusion, rock-n-roll, Afro and Bollywood fusion, it’s not sure which dance form she will perform with the students.

According to the institute’s spokesperson, “Our students are looking forward to dancing with Kajol.” Source

Ajay Devgn Takes The Help Of Kajol In Singham

Star performer Ajay Devgn turned to his half-Maharashtrian wife, actress Kajol for help when he was required to deliver dialogues fluently in Marathi for his role in Reliance Entertainment’s Singham.

Ajay, who plays a tough senior inspector Bajirao Singham in the action movie, has a few scenes where he had to speak in Marathi, and he wanted to perfect it.

Since Kajol, whose mother Tanuja is a Maharashtrian, has a good hold on the language, she was more than excited to help her husband. She taught Ajay how to pronounce a few words authentically, and he picked up the accent within minutes.

Kajol Is Talking Business With Yash Chopra

Is Yash Chopra planning to recreate Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge magic with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in his directorial next?  We recently spotted the actress at the YRF studios and sources inform that it was more than just a casual visit.

Rumours are rife that the film, a romantic saga, will star SRK and Katrina Kaif in the lead role. However, there is another spot in the movie and YRF’s favourite actress, Kads is being considered for it.

The source reveals, “Chopra is very keen to have Kads opposite Shah Rukh. He is quite fond of both of them and loves their onscreen pairing. He feels that they can create the same magic.”

“While it’s sure that Katrina will star in the film, it could be possible that the movie is a love triangle and that they have approached Kajol to either reprise the other romantic lead or do a cameo,” the source further adds. More

Kajol Spotted With Her 2 Kids at the Mumbai Airport

Real life jodi of Kajol and Ajay Devgan is one of the perfect couples of B-Town. They dated each other for a few years, and then got married. There were no controversies or rumours heard about their love life. After both of them got married, the industry predicted that Kajol won’t ever be seen onscreen again, because Bollywood is not warm towards married heroines, who generally can’t deliver a hit after marriage. Kajol’s unwillingness to face camera even for interviews after marriage, instigated the thought that she has ended her filmi careers and wont be seen again onscreen.

But, mother of two, knows to handle her career as well as her family together. She has delivered hits like “Fanaa”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”, “My Name Is Khan” after her marriage. In September 2010, Kajol gave birth to a baby boy Yug. She was shooting for Karan Johar’s film “We are family” when it was heard that she got pregnant for the second time. Nysa, Kajol-Ajay’s first child is 9 years old. Recently, Devgan family was seen together with their newest member Yug, in Mumbai Airport on Wednesday night, after they returned from Bangkok trip. The little baby boy was in Kajol’s arms while Nysa walked holding her father’s hands. Source

Kajol Is Honoured With Padma Shri For Her Contribution To The Indian Cinema

The legendary actors Kajol, Tabu and Irrfan Khan and singer Usha Uthup have been named for the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour on the eve of Republic Day, today.

Kajol started her career with Bekhudi and then went on to become one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood with films like Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and so on. Tabu, on the other hand, has been known for creating a niche for herself with films like Chandni Bar, Astitva, Maqbool, The Namesake and Cheeni Kum. Irrfan Khan can undoubtedly be called as the international Indian face with films like The Namesake, A Mighty Heart, Slumdog Millionaire to his credit. Usha Uthup started as a famous pop singer in Bollywood in the 70s and became a rage for her unique heavy voice and singing style. Her songs like ‘Ek Do Cha Cha Cha’, ‘Shaan Se’, ‘Hari Om Hari’,'Rambha Ho’ and ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ are evergreen classics.

Veteran actors Shashi Kapoor and Waheeda Rehman have been honoured with Padma Bhushan. Shashi Kapoor’s films like Jab Jab Phool Khile, Waqt, Silsila, Deewar, Kabhi Kabhie, Satyam Shivam Sundaram and many more have appealed to the audiences of all generations. He also featured in international projects titled The Householder, Shakespearewallah and Heat and Dust. Unfortunately, this senior actor has not been keeping well for a while now.

Waheeda Rehman is known as one of the most beautiful women seen on the silver screen. She started her career with Man Ki Jeet in 1944 and then went on to feature in cult classics like Pyasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Saheb Bibi Aur Gulam, Guide, Reshma Aur Shera and many more. Source

The Year 2010 Was Excellent For The K-Actresses

It can be called a co-incidence of sorts that most of the films that have done well at the ticket window this year star heroines whose names start with the initial K.

Starting with the most experienced Kajol who started the year on a high with the hit MY NAME IS KHAN, where she was paired with her favourite co-star Shah Rukh Khan. She did disappoint a bit with her second and third release, WE ARE FAMILY and TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO, but her super sensitive act as Mandira in MNIK saved the day for Kajol and her fans.

Then comes the most successful and certainly the numero-uno heroine of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif, who has a super hit in form of RAAJNEETI and her latest release TEES MAAR KHAN too has embarked upon a historic start netting almost 40 crore during the first weekend itself, second only to the biggest DABANGG.

If Katrina is there can Kareena be left far behind? Well, not at all. Kareena Kapoor may have had a bad year with her moth ridden MILENGE MILENGE and WE ARE FAMILY failing at the turnstile but she did recover with the blockbuster GOLMAAL 3 thus ending the year on a high note. More

The Different Views of Kajol & Ajay Devgn

They were last seen together on screen almost three years back in Ajay Devgn’s directorial debut, U, ME AUR HUM. Now, real life jodi, Ajay and Kajol is all set to recreate their magic in the animation flick, TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO. Directed by Kireet Khurana, it is India’s first live action – 3D animation combination feature film.

Although they have done many films together, Kajol and Ajay are not on the same page when it comes to choosing films. Says Kajol, “We rarely agree on a script. So it has to be few movies every few years.” She goes on to say, “We actually don’t agree on most scripts. What he thinks of being very workable, I think them to be very boring. So it’s very rare that we both agree to do a film.”

So has the equation between Kajol and Ajay changed through the years? “The process is pretty much the same. As the years go by, you just get more comfortable. You get used to the way the other person works. It becomes more of a team spirit more than anything else,” asserts Kajol.

Quiz them about what made them do TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO and Ajay says, “TOONPUR KA SUPERRHERO was a fabulous script. I would put it as a comedy film which makes you laugh throughout. In our country, till date animation films have been made which target the children. I’ve seen some with my daughter. Their humour only makes some children laugh. It doesn’t excite adults. More

Kajol Is Proud Of Ajay Devgn’s Acting Skills

Ajay Devgn is the most versatile actor, says his wife Kajol, who also believes that the man in the real is more impressive than all his reel characters.

“I personally think Ajay is the most versatile actor that we have today. He has been successful in all genres – whether comedy or drama,” Kajol told reporters Wednesday at the music launch of their upcoming action animation movie “Toonpur ka Superhero”.

She can’t be more right as the 41-year-old proved his verstality with five releases this year which were different from each other – he was seen in two comedies “Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge” and “Golmaal 3″, political thriller “Raajneeti”, crime saga “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai” and a film on honour killing titled “Aakrosh”.

When asked which character of Ajay impressed her the most, Kajol said: “I’m very impressed with Ajay Devgn in real life (more) than any of his on screen characters.”

Both will be seen in “Toonpur Ka Superhero”, which is produced by Krishika Lulla and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Kireet Khurana has directed the movie, which will hit the screens Dec 24. More

Kajol In A Chit Chat

On the way of extending her Family(likely to be due in October), Bollywood talent extreme Kajol gets candid for a tete-a-tete with Vishal Verma and talks about her family, motherhood, Kareena Kapoor and more.

Wearing a sleeveless orange dress and tied up hair Kajol frankly answers the queries as she is equally excited about her next release ‘We Are Family’ where once again she plays a mom on screen. Excerpts:

Q: Have You Seen Stepmom?

If you have seen, did it provide any guidance for your portrayal? A: Yes I have seen it but a long time ago, it’s a remake of Stepmom but we have Indianised it. The premise of the film is very Indian, so it wasn’t difficult. This film is different, it has songs, the situations are different and no there’s no guidance from the original played by Susan Saradon, Maya is very different from what Susan Sarandon was in Stepmom.

Q: You have done an Elvis Presley at the time when you where pregnant, did Karan Johar took any liberties as a producer considering that you are pregnant? More

Does Kajol Really Criticises Karan Johar ?

We all know how dedicatedly Kajol did an energetic dance number ‘Jailhosue Rock’ for her upcoming film WE ARE FAMILY, despite being three months pregnant. Just for her convenience, the makers – producer Karan Johar & director Siddarth Malhotra made quite a few alterations in the dance steps.

Good pal Karan made sure that Kajol was relaxed and made her comfortable. He saw to it there was exertion on Kajol even if it meant compromising on the peppy dance number.

When we asked Kajol about the same, in her witty & bubbly style she replied, “Karan is not that great a producer (laughs),” On a serious note she added, “He was very sweet, understanding really nice & kind to me.”

She continues, “I went and saw the choreography actually before I shot for this song. There was so much jumping here & there, dancing on a piano, etc. Initially I was apprehensive performing it. I gave Karan an option also, if he wants to picturise the song on somebody else or without me and I was perfectly okay with it. But Karan was very insistent that only I should do it. He was very supportive throughout the shoot.” More
