Minissha Lamba’s New Year Resolution Is Planting Trees

At a time when celebrities have taken over parents as children’s role models, Minissha Lamba seems focussed on doing her bit for the environment and setting an example. The actress has taken upon herself a personal agenda of planting as many as trees as she can. She doesn’t mind calling it her own fight against global warming!

We’re talking about very beautiful Bollywood star Minissha Lamba who has designed her New Year’s resolution which helps the world. She has pledged to plant more and more trees this year, which surely sets a fine example before all.

The actress has taken upon herself a personal agenda of planting as many trees as she can. She doesn’t mind calling it her own fight against global warming. “Whenever she has some time on hand, Minissha loves gardening and plants trees as often as possible. In fact, she also encourages people around her to do the same and increase greenery,” says a source.

The actor, who is busy in shooting for Vinod Bachchan’s upcoming film, wants to make sure that her New Year resolution is in place.

On being asked whether it’s just a phase, Minissha says it’s been on her mind for a long while now. “Not many people know that I plant a lot of trees. However, this year around, I’ll try to increase the number. I have a small garden at my place as well. This is a small initiative from my end to keep the environment clean,” she adds.

Joker Movie Review

Owing to the technical challenges, the concept of weaving a story along aliens and UFOs has always been tricky for Indian filmmakers, but I would like to applaud Shirish Kunder just for the fact that he dared to make a film around extra-terrestrials, even though the success of the venture looks very bleak.

‘Joker’ upped the curiosity level of Indian audience, especially after Bollywood’s exciting and a rather successful brush with ‘Jaadu’ – the most adorable alien we all met in Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. But, Kunder’s much ambitious project- ‘Joker’ clearly lacks the ‘wow’ factor which it abundantly promised in the film’s trailer. Entertainment wise, the film really has nothing to offer.

The single star that the film gets is for the fact that Joker is probably the first mainstream comic fantasy made in Mumbai. That apart, it has nothing that remotely resembles a redeeming routine. Pity, even Chitrangada Singh’s Kaafirana dil can make no dent.

What Joker delivers in the garbled guise of the genre plumbs such depths of vapidity that it stands no chance of ever coming up for air.

The run time of the film is an hour and forty-five minutes. Thank God for small mercies. But even at that length, Joker is difficult to deal with.

The story is very run-of the-mill. Akshay (Augustya), a NASA scientist returns to India to improve the condition of his village named ‘Paglapur’, apparently which has lost its identity from the face of the earth. Now since the administrators have no clue as to under whose jurisdiction Paglapur exist, Augustya’s village is devoid of any basic amenities like bijli and paani leading to the inhabitants going eccentric who incidentally happen to be former fugitives of a mental asylum. To improve the situation, Augustya with the help of the villagers hatches an absurd plan to attract media and the administration’s attention, but somehow the scheme doesn’t work out eventually leading to utter chaos.

Akshay Kumar is as good as he can be – and that isn’t all that good. Sonakshi sleepwalks through the film, grinning and frowning as he drowns in the morass,

Give Joker a miss if you value your sanity and money. It gives commercial Hindi cinema a bad name.

Minissha Lamba Shows Her Curves For Maxim Cover Page

Last it was Pakistani troubled starlet Veena Malik, who shocked the country and also her own country, by daring to bare all for the cover page of FHM magazine. Well, the latest one from Bollywood to follow Veena’s footsteps is actress Minissha Lamba.

Actress Minissha Lamba might be playing second leads in Bollywood films, but the latest issue of the glamorous magazine Maxim gives her all the focus by placing her on the cover. Her journey from her first film Yahaan, where she played the character of a demure, simple girl from Kashmir cloaked from head-to-toe, to Kidnap where she donned a bikini, includes many makeovers, reported stories of a nose job and more. In the lastest issue of Maxim’s ‘Sex and Relationships’ issue, actress Minissha Lamba poses in the nude with a black sheet that barely covers her assets.

Meanwhile this is not the first time Lamba has been in news for wrong reasons, though this time she has indeed raised many eyebrows with her act. Earlier she made headlines for allegedly going under the knife to correct her body and appearances, though it didn’t help her career in anyway.

Bipasha Basu is attracting for her bold scenes in Raaz 3, and the likes of Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra have got with their nude photograph updates on social networking sites, it wouldn’t be a surprise that the lesser league of Bollywood actresses start following suit. With her latest film Joker releasing at about the same time of the magazine cover launch, maybe Minishha Lamba would catch the attention of Bollywood’s big banners and finally have a blockbuster to her name.

Why is Sonakshi Sinha Fat, asks Vindu Dara Singh

Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan indirectly called Sonakshi Sinha fat sometime back. There’s an addition to the list. Bigg Boss winnner and her Joker co-star Vindu Dara Singh thinks “Sonakshi is a little fat“.

Shooting for a film calls for quite a long schedule, which ends up making the entire cast and crew bond well.

And one such house on fire tale was seen on the sets of Shirish Kunder’s upcoming Joker. The film alongside, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade and Minissha Lamba; also stars Vindu Dara Singh. In the film he plays the character of Shundi, Akshay’s friend. It has been learnt that the veteran had a whale of time working with both Akki and Sonakshi.

“Akshay used to often say that Sonakshi’s mother should make the food. Sonakshi’s mom made Sarson ka sag, fish in sarson ka tel and paye ka soup many times. We used to often joke that Sonakshi should not be fed with such good food,” Vindu was quoted by the tabloid.

Vindu is not the only one who has remarked about Sonakshi’s weight. Here’re others who took a dig at the lady’s broad frame.

Minissha Lamba’s Role In Hum Tum Shabana

There is a time when everybody is a rookie. They don’t know what to do, and they don’t know how to go about things and are extremely guarded about themselves. Actor Minissha Lamba says that her forthcoming film portrays her in exactly that light – a newcomer thrown into a fashion show and someone who doesn’t have a clue about what to do.

“My circumstances throw me into a beauty pageant and I don’t know what to do in it. It’s like a local beauty pageant where I have to walk the ramp to save the situation. I just do an extempore catwalk. I think that is one of the most interesting parts of the film,” says Minissha about her upcoming film Hum, Tum Shabana that also stars Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor. The actor says that it is an out-and-out comedy film which revolves around the three characters in the film. More

Minissha Lamba Regards Anna Hazare As Second Gandhi

Minissha Lamba, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade were in their element at a promotional video shoot of a song number for Hum Tum Shabana, the hilarious flick helmed by Sagar Ballary.

The mood, however, turned all somber at the suburban Mumbai venue when social crusader Anna Hazare was mentioned. “Anna Hazare is the second Gandhiji that India needs,” asserted Minissha Lamba. “It is the constitutional right of any Indian citizen to peacefully protest against what they feel is injustice. If the Government is not allowing Anna Hazare to do that, what is the point of being a citizen of the largest democracy in world, if one cannot exercise that right.”

Added she significantly, “It’s time we have a Government that respects our Constitution and grants us our basic rights. Anna Hazare’s fight is against injustice. It’s the fight of the common man of India and Anna Hazare’s fight surely affects him.” Source

Minissha Lamba Is Very Happy For Her Role In Bheja fry 2

Never mind her brush with the Customs authorities not so while ago, Minissha Lamba is currently bubbling with excitement. Refusing to be bogged down with all the negative publicity and unsavoury attention that came her way, Minissha is keeping her chin up and smiling it all away. Reason being that her comic outing ‘Bheja Fry 2′ has hit the screens and expectedly, she has huge expectations from the film.

“It is a film that I am really proud of,” says Minissha who calls herself a big fan of the franchise, “Even if I wasn’t a part of the sequel, I would have still gone ahead and booked my tickets for the first show of the film. I loved the first part and was curious to know what happens next in the life of Bharat Bhushan (the character played by Vinay Pathak).” More

Minissha Lamba’s Nurse Look In Bheja Fry 2

Minnisha Lamba’s nurse look in the promotional video of Bheja Fry 2 has been inspired by Darryl Hannah’s look in Kill Bill Vol 1.

The actress felt that styling on similar lines was just apt. But Minissha had a tough time finding a nurse’s cap similar to one Darryl has donned in the film. The head cap worn by Darryl is a style statement.

It was very fashionable and different compared to the caps worn by Indian nurses. With difficulty Minissha found a cap that was similar to the Kill Bill star. Source

Minissha Lamba Is Really Happy For Bheja Fry 2

Minissha Lamba is all set to be seen in BHEJA FRY 2 opposite Vinay Pathak. Doesn’t she ever feel that she could have capitalized on the high that she gained after doing films with the likes of Ranbir Kapoor (BACHNA AE HASEENO) as well as Imran Khan (KIDNAP)?

“I may think that I could have signed an XYZ film but at that very moment who knows whether your decision was correct or not,” says Minissha in a firm tone, “You take the best judgmental call and it is only in the hindsight when things become clearer. I guess everything has an advantage or a disadvantage and you learn to live by it.”

As per the synopsis of BHEJA FRY 2, Minissha plays a ‘sweet and straight- forward media executive’ in the film. Is she happy with the kind of roles coming her way? More

Minissha Lamba & Her Stories Of Cannes Gifts

So for all these years the rest of the world thought and believed in the saying ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’. So if that’s the case, Minissha Lamba would be really upset with her long lasting friend/s. It’s less than 48 hours and Minissha Lamba is still fried – bheja fried for what people and the media have blown out of proportion.

Even the latest Amul hoardings have taken her case, but before that it was the twittersphere that went berserk on her detention news. While some called her irresponsible, others seemed to be worried and concerned; some blamed her for false advertising while the others wanted to know the truth. Our very own Shobha De too voiced her opinion which the actress didn’t take it that well.

And in between all these things, a journalist like me could only pick up the phone, call Lamba and do an exclusive ‘no holds barred’ interview. The customs definitely must’ve followed the Veni, Vidi, Vici path. Don’t worry Mini, we’ve got your back! More
