Why Parineeti Chopra gave up on Akshay’s film

While Ranveer Singh has happily signed films outside the parent Yash Raj banner, his costar from Ladies Versus Ricky Bahl, Parineeti Chopra, seems tied down by a binding contract that doesn’t allow her the same freedom. One hears Parineeti was very keen to sign on for the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Thuppakki which she was offered by producer Vipul Shah on behalf of director A. Murugadoss. Apparently, Akshay Kumar was also interested in getting her on board for the project as he had seen and liked the new girl on the Bollywood block in Ishaqzaade. However, Yash Raj apparently wouldn’t release Parineeti to do the outside project.Heavy trading of negotiations between the two parties finally culminated in a dead-end for Parineeti, with Aditya Chopra apparently vetoing the very idea of the girl working in an outside film at a time when she was shooting for Yash Raj’s new film with director Maneesh Sharma opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.

Says a source, “Parineeti was ready to shuttle between the two projects without letting either suffer. But she was told in no uncertain terms, that she would have to stay committed full-time to Maneesh Sharma’s film, just like the film’s leading man Sushant Singh Rajput who has not been permitted to do any other project while shooting for the Yash Raj film.”
Apparently, Akshay Kumar also intervened in the hope of some flexibility in Parineeti’s schedule. But to no avail.

It was only after it became crystal-clear that Parineeti wouldn’t be able to the Thuppakki remake that Sonakshi Sinha was sounded out, and signed. Confirming this director A Murugadoss said, “We tried really hard for Parineeti. But she was committed by contract to a project with Yash Raj Films.”

Curiously, Vipul Shah’s schedules for the Thuppakki remake don’t clash with the Maneesh Sharma film at all. So one wonders why Parineeti had to let go of such a plum project that was bound to take her career further.

Parineeti Chopra Is Very Confused About Her Love Life

With sweet smile and simple Indian girl looks, Parineeti Chopra became part of Bollywood in 2011, generated a decent fan following with her strong screen presence. Parineeti Chopra is an Indian actress, born on 12th of May 1988 in a Hindu Punjabi family to Pawan Chopra and Reena Chopra in Ambala, Haryana. Her cousin Priyanka Chopra is also an actress and a big name in Hindi Film Industry.

Initially it was being said that Parineeti was dating the biker from Dhoom, Uday Chopra as they were seen together dining and having fun around. But after the actors cleared it out on the microblogging site, we had our eyes on the actress if she has her eyes on someone else. And looks instead of her professional side, it’s her personal front which is helping her hit the news headlines. Buzz states that nowadays she is dating Maneesh Sharma, the director of Band Bajaa Baraat.

It is heard that it was Maneesh who recommended Pari to Aditya Chopra and Habib Faisal for Ishaqzaade. The couple has been seen lunching and dining together, but hush we saw the same thing with Uday too. The sources close to the actress say that she is really dating the director, but the truth will definitely come out by time.

Teri Meri Kahaani Movie Review

Cast: Shahid Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Prachi Desai

Director: Kunal Kohli

Ratings : ***1/2

A self-declared Yash Chopra fan, Kunal Kohli has had a remarkable career thus far. He didn’t have a great beginning with MUJHSE DOSTI KAROGE, but surprised one and all with his dexterity in films like HUM TUM and FANAA. THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC couldn’t restructure the magic of HUM TUM, but all eyes are on his new outing TERI MERI KAHAANI. The question is, will he be able to strike a chord this time?

Preceding its release, the tittle-tattle went on an overdrive asserting that TERI MERI KAHAANI bears a striking semblance to the 2005 Taiwanese film THREE TIMES, which featured three chronologically separate love stories. Both, the Hou Hsiao-Hsien directed project and Kunal’s film are positioned over three time frames where the hero and the heroine find love in different circumstances. While the Taiwanese film was set in 1911, 1966 and 2005, TERI MERI KAHAANI is set in 1910, 1960 and present-day U.K.

There is no doubt in the fact that the movie falls flat for its weak plot and storyline which offers nothing new to the audience which they would take home and cherish for days. There is no sense of chronology as the narrative begins with 1960, moves to 2012 and then, bizarrely, comes back to 1910.

Sunil Patel’s cinematography in the movie is just breathtaking . Apart from lead actors, the supporting stars like Prachi Desai and Neha Sharma too have done a good job. Costume designers Manish Malhotra, Kunal Rawal needs a special mention as they have done a marvellous job to make the 1910 and 60′s characters look more realistic and genuine. Priyanka looks stunning and is a perfect fit as the typical sixties heroine in some very beautiful sparkly costumes. And Shahid looks very dapper and dashing.

Teri Meri Kahaani gives the male protagonist another life and another chance to get things right. This time around the film travels all of a century back in time to Sargodha village, Lahore. So there we go – back to square one. Teri Meri Kahaani is pretty much like the loves of the film’s male protagonist – it pours out all it has. But what is has simply isn’t enough.

Parineeti Chopra’s Prices Have Already Gone High

Latest buzz is that post the success of her second film ‘Ishaqzaade’, Parineeti Chopra has become too big for her boots. Apparently, she has quoted an exorbitant figure for her endorsement fees.

Sources claim that the actress was approached by a reputed cosmetic brand with an offer to endorse their personal care range of products. However, while negotiating the fees, the company representatives were shocked to hear the actress’ demands.

A source was quoted saying, “They were surprised to hear that her representatives were asking for at least Rs. 50 lakh per day. The brand managers felt the asking price was beyond their expectations. The brand wanted about 10 days from her, of which about seven were to be utilized for the ad campaign and two days for a couple of events. At that asking rate, signing her for a year would mean spending Rs. 5 crore, which is a bit too high for someone new like Parineeti. So now the brand is considering a couple of other faces.” Source

Ishaqzaade Is A Complete Winner At The Box Office

Going by the feedback that Ishaqzaade has received, the industry is quite upbeat about the arrival of the newest romantic pair on the big screen – Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. In the meanwhile, Karisma Kapur’s comeback plans were dashed with Vikram Bhatt’s Dangerous Ishhq performing dismally at the box office.

While the makers of Ishaqzaade are said to have recovered their investments and earned over and above that, the trade is unanimous about Dangerous Ishq incurring a big loss to makers and distributors alike.

Pegging the first three days of the Arjun-Parineeti starrer at about Rs 16 crore, Komal Nahta said, “The initial is pretty good for a film with new actors. The music and the promotions definitely helped. The producers have earned over Rs 12 crore from satellite rights; they’ve nothing to worry about.” More

Watch The Saga Of Hindu Muslim Love In Ishaqzaade

One of the salient features about ISHAQZAADE is that it is a romantic story with a twist. Indeed it would be for the first time that a love story of the youth and for the youth is a love story between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl. As it is Hindi cinema has been rather conservative about using this genre as a subject matter of content, and one needs to congratulate Yash Raj Films for having chosen this subject.

Last time when Yash Raj Films had ventured into this arena it was through VEER-ZAARA and it is now more than a decade later that YRF has returned to the subject once again. However there is a twist in the love story of ISHAQZAADE, it is a love story situated in the Hindi heartland.

Indeed the earlier films which had the reference point of a Hindu Muslim love story, invariably were based around Punjab where the love that prospered had a backdrop of partition associated with it. In Punjab, as the Hindus and the Muslims lived together and shared lots of cultural affinities, it was quite natural for love to prosper. More
