Arjun Kapoor”Priyanka has not Thrown any Tantrums”

There have been rumours floating around Priyanka Chopra throwing her weight around on the sets of Gunday. It was also being said that she was making her co-stars (Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Kapoor) hear it loud and clear that she is the one who was the experienced lot around.

“This is all coming out of thin air and nothing like that actually took place on location and in such sinister manner during the shoot of Gunday,” says a source, “Whenever there is a much hyped film in the making with good stakes involved, rumours of all kinds start floating around. This is just one of them. Priyanka is too dignified an actor to be actually throwing tantrums or have starry airs around her.” “I am glad someone has asked me to at least clarify this, otherwise such loose talk is simply weird,” says Arjun, “Nothing like that ever happened with Priyanka. Honestly, I don’t even know what I should say for such matters. She has been a star for so many years and no tantrums have ever come into picture. She is too big to be indulging in such behaviour.” said arjun.”

I actually know her from even before the time when I had started off as an actor. I was an assistant on Salaam-e-Ishq and used to call her by saying – ‘Madam, shot ready hai’. Till date I tell her that ‘Madam aap aaiye naa’. The only difference is that earlier only she was in front of the camera and today both of us are. I am very fond of her and love her as an actor. She has not changed at all and that is the hallmark of a true star and an actor.” he said.

Shootout At Wadala Makes A Decent Box Office Start

With a bevy of actors, Sanjay Gupta’s crime drama Shootout at Wadala has managed to nail the art of audience and reportedly earned total 27 crore in just three days after release. It was released on May 3 across the country.

It is strongest in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, where the story of Manya Surve found resonance. It also managed to collect decent numbers in parts of India where mafia tales are a big draw.

The collections that was recorded at 10.10 crores on it opening day (Friday) now rests at an approximate of 4.50 crores on Monday (Day 4). The film’s weekend collections were excellent despite having adult content, hurling abuses and lewd language at places!

It was made for a cost of around 32 crore with a print and advertising (P&A) budget of around 15 crore, and with three days of release it has crossed one-fourth to its making. It recovered approximately 27cr over the weekend. The producers sent out a release saying, SAW collected 30.7cr from the domestic box office in the first three days.

According to sources from the production side it is informed that the satellite rights were picked up for around 22 cr because this film was sold as a package deal along with Ek Thi Daayan and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again; all three films are produced by Balaji.

Of course, it collected something to the tune of 4 cr on the opening weekend. But the real star is Aashiqui 2 that is 2013′s first certified super hit with a collection of around 43 cr in its 10-day run.

Anu malik speaks for Priyanka Chopra

Music director Anu Malik, who gave the music for Priyanka Chopra’s first item number ‘Babli Badmaash’ in ” Shootout in Wadala”,said that PC was never willing to use vulgar words or go for skin show in her first ever item song.

It is notable that Babli Badmaash is the first item song of Priyanka which she has done for Sanjay Gupta directed Shootout at Wadala. Speaking on the song, composer Anu Malik said, “I believe they made a lot of songs that didn’t click with Priyanka. Those songs were made by various composers and were rejected by Priyanka. Her brief was that she doesn’t want any vulgar words and or skin-show”. The musician was not the first choice for the music in Sanjay Gupta directed film. Gupta initially called him to do only one song but he ended up doing three songs including the item number. On how the concept of ‘Babli Badmaash’ came about, Malik said, “We were sitting in Sanjay Gupta’s office with lyrics writer Kumar. Suddenly I had a vision of Priyanka in front of me. She is really bubbly. So I used the word Babli.”

It is notable that despite the hullabaloo created around the song, it failed to click the masses and couldn’t even score half as the success of Munni and Sheila. On the same, Anu feels that a superstar is no sure guarantee of a song’s success as music, catchy lyrics and other factors too play a key role.

Talking about Priyanka’s reaction to the song, Malik said, “Priyanka had called us to her house after listening to the song. She said, ‘I got up humming this tune. Priyanka has a great ear for music.”

What’s Parineeti Chopra’s problem with Priyanka Chopra

Parineeti Chopra doesn’t like being called Priyanka Chopra’s cousin. Not that she doesn’t love her cousin, it’s just that every time she is discussed, Priyanka’s name is mentioned. Parineeti now wants her own identity.

“I am proud to be Priyanka’s sister. But I want to be known for myself, the way Ranbir is known although he is Kareena Kapoor’s cousin. People should forget where I come from. I don’t want to be called only Priyanka’s sister. I want to be as good as her. People should say Priyanka and Parineeti are both fabulous actors.”

Priyanka Chopra is not a competition for Parineeti, at all. “How can Priyanka be my rival? She is been here so much longer. I think I am lucky that I am known after just two films as more than Priyanka’s cousin. People say we’re both good actors.”

Parineeti is a trained singer just like her cousin sis PeeCee.

“It runs in the family. My dad and Priyanka’s dad are brothers. They used to sing together on stage. And when Priyanka and I were kids, we performed on stage together. So yeah, I love singing. If I get a chance to make a dream singing debut like Priyanka, I’d grab it. Maybe later. And I also love reading. But most of all I like sleeping. That’s when I regain all my energy. Then I go out and act.”

Parineeti rejects stardom. She says, “I am not a star at all! Stardom comes after years of work. It doesn’t happen with two films. Let me get a solid 7-8 years of work done before we talk of stardom for me. I’m just lucky to be here at a time when audiences are willing to watch newcomers. Yeah, I do enjoy being recognized on the streets. If that didn’t happen, I’d be really depressed. My aim is to be known by everyone who sees films. I don’t want any viewer to ask, ‘Parineeti who?’”

Talking about the film, it is already packed with high-profile actors like-John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Sonu Sood, Manoj Bajpayee and Tusshar Kapoor. Priyanka Chopra Feels Shy While Singing For Bollywood

Priyanka Chopra has gone international as a singer with her debut single but the actress says she was too shy to sing in Bollywood earlier even though offers came her way.

“I used to get opportunities to sing in Bollywood but was too shy to take up any song. My friends Vishal-Shekhar and Salim-Sulaiman tried to make me sing in films but I was too shy. I sang in ‘Bluffmaster’ (2005 film) but the song was never released,” said Priyanka.

“But now as I have already launched my own album, I can think about it. But I’ll be selective as I am really shy,” she added.

Dressed in a white tee, pink jacket, light blue denims paired with white high heels, the Barfi! star was in the Capital today to promote the single from her first music album which will be released later.

“Will.i.am is an extremely talented musician and artist. It was an honour for me to work with him. We have heard so much about him, we love their music. It was a really new experience. There are other international collaborations in this album too, you’ll get to know about it as I keep unraveling my songs in the album,” she added.

Priyanka Chopra In a Rockstar Avatar

Priyanka Chopra is getting into her rockstar mode. At least this is what it looks are like these days. The actress got her hair coloured purple. Piggy Chops posted a new picture of hers in her purple streaks on Twitter. Ever since she was roped in to release her pop album by Universal Music and promoted by Lady Gaga’s manager, she is making all possible attempts to be taken seriously as a rockstar.

As known to all, the desi girl of Bollywood is into singing and is busy preparing for her first ever music album to be released globally. For the uninitiated, PC in August 2011 signed a worldwide recording agreement with Universal Music Group, the World’s leading Music Company, and Desi Hits. As per the deal, she will release her debut album in North America with Desi Hits through Interscope Records and in other international markets on Island Records UK (distributed in India via Universal Music India).

The very first song of the album is said to release on September 13 and we have heard that in order to give it an Indian touch, PC has asked the makers to turn it a bit desi. The icing on the cake comes as PC’s first single song My City will be featured at the National Football League’s Thursday Kickoff match on September 13 in the United States where she will share the big space with the Black Eyed Peas’ rapper will.i.am!
