Continuing its superb run, Karan Malhotra’s Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra and Rishi Kapoor starrer, AGNEEPATH has achieved another distinction. On Sunday (5th February), AGNEEPATH crossed the 100 crore mark from India.
This is an important milestone in superhero Hrithik Roshan’s career as AGNEEPATH is his first film which has netted more than 100 crores, having missed the mark by 8 crore in ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA.
In fact just as we had predicted last month (Priyanka all set for a double hundred!-13th January) after DON 2, AGNEEPATH turns out to be the second 100 crore netter for Priyanka, and puts her on par with Asin (GHAJINI and READY).
With AGNEEAPTH still being the first preference for the audience, even during the second weekend, the film has bright chances of achieving a super hit status. Source
Apparently at the party thrown to celebrate Sanjay Dutt’s Agneepath success, SRK and Priyanka spent some time together alone. The two sat for a while in a corner table. As it was in the wee hours, a lot of guests had left the bash.
And those who were around let them have a quiet table to themselves. But in the wake of the buzz about Priyanka and SRK’s close bonding, onlookers noticed the duo all by themselves. Later Priyanka left and after a while the SRK-Shirish fracas occurred.
Both the stars had arrived at the Juhu nightspot after attending an awards event. They arrived separately. But once at the venue, King Khan and Priyanka chatted animatedly for a while. More
Agneepath is clearly emerging as the first blockbuster of the year 2012. After a slight dip in the collections on Friday, the film picked up well on Saturday and Sunday. Here’ the lowdown.
The film, starring Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, opened to a thunderous start on the Republic Day, January 26, when it broke off all box office records for the first-day earning, by raking in a whopping Rs. 23 crore.
However, there was an alarming fall in the collections on Friday with the day bringing in just Rs. 12 crore into the film’s kitty. The response picked up on Saturday as the collections role to Rs. 14.5 crore. Sunday was still better with Rs. 17.5 crore.
Totting up the figures leaves us with an aggregate first weekend collection of Rs. 67.5 crore for Agneepath, which is quite good and justifies all the partying by the film’s actors to celebrate its success. More

Hrithik Roshan is all set to wear the shoes of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in front of the audience as his film Agneepath releases today. Sanjay Dutt’s look and Katrina Kaif’s Chikni Chameli act has also been the talk of town. Last but not the least, Priyanka Chopra is also expected to deliver her best. Overall, Karan Johar is ready to strike gold.
Priyanka Chopra is one of those very few Bollywood actresses who have a great equation with their co-stars, especially male counterparts. After Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor it’s Hrithik Roshan with whom the swanky actress shares a great rapport.
Hrithik and Priyanka first came together in KRRISH and now the duo are all set to scorch the screen with their sizzling chemistry in upcoming film AGNEEPATH, which is produced by Karan Johar.
Hrithik is all praise for co-star and friend Piggy Chops. “She is a very special person and a great co-star to work with. I am very comfortable working with her. She is like a live wire on the sets. She is full of enthusiasm and it is very good to be full of positivity,” says Hrithik
Also starring Sanjay Dutt AGNEEPATH is scheduled to release on 26th January 2012. Source
The award season has just started in B-town and our Bollywood ladies are gearing up for their upcoming numerous fashionable outings. The first big award function of the year, Colors Screen Awards, was held on Saturday in Mumbai, and it was not without its fashionable moments.
The red carpet was shinning with the bright Bollywood ladies, who took fancy to elaborate gowns, blingy saris and elegant anarkalis for the event. Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone stole the limelight with their gorgeous gowns and make-up. Also wonderfully styled were Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif; both the actresses picked saris for the event.
The others who wowed with their western attires were Amy Jackson, Shazahn Padamsee, Madhuri Dixit, and Asin. But since we are also listing the worst-dressed at the red carpet, watch this slideshow to see who failed to wow us, stylewise. Source
The rumour mills were agog with the news that former actress Neelam Kothari is spreading the rumours of Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra’s alleged love affair.
But it seems the actress is very upset with the gossipmongers and chose social networking platform to clarify the faulty accusations.
Neelam at once twitted, ”Don’t know how to react to a certain article that has come out today, claiming that I am responsible for starting certain rumours. I’m shocked and hurt with these allegations!! This is the first time in the whole of my career I have been dragged into a controversy.”
A distressed Neelam continues with her outburst, ”Not fair at all!! Gauri and Sharukh happen to be my dear friends and will continue to be so.. Would never say anythin derogatory about them”
She adds further, ”As for Priyanka Chopra… No we have never had a fight… Get your facts right people!!” Source
India’s favourite storyteller, Ruskin Bond, who will soon be receiving life time achievement award for writing, can’t stop gushing about his celluloid adventure – a guest appearance in Vishal Bhardwaj’s thrilling black comedy ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ (2011).
Talking to a daily about his brush with cinema, Bond recounted his acting skills in a lighter vein, “In one scene, I had to kiss Priyanka (Chopra) on the cheek in a fatherly fashion. In the first take I knocked off her glasses, after 12 takes the director asked me if I was doing it deliberately. I don’t think I created an impression, as you see I haven’t got any more acting offers since then,” he said. Source
UTV Motion Pictures today announced the release date for BARFI! as July 13, 2012.
The film is directed by Anurag Basu and the cast is Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and newbie Ileyana, who are playing the lead roles. The music of the film is composed by Pritam.
BARFI! is a story of a young man who is cute but shrewd as well. The girls love him. The cops hate him. He can’t speak but is always talked about. His naughty antics will make you scream, but he will never listen. Because he can’t!
BARFI! is a rollercoaster of emotions. Source
Normally we talk about ‘saat janmon ka pyaar’ (love of seven lives/birth) but in case of Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra it’s a ‘teen janmon ka pyaar’ (love of three lives/birth)!
Well, if you think that we are indulging in third rate yellow journalism, you are wrong as your favourite site does not believe in that. So, please read on.
Actually we are talking about Kunal Kohli’s yet untitled film starring Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor. As per our sources, in Kunal’s film Priyanka meets her lover, essayed by Shahid Kapoor, in three different lives (‘janams’). So, as we had said it’s a love of three lives between Shahid and Priyanka.
Well, that sure is an interesting concept and also explains the three looks of Shahid Kapoor in the pictures being circulated in the web world, and should also douse the curiosity of all those who were speculating about Kunal Kohli’s film being a three generation story! Source
5) Don 2
Panned by many critics, this film makes it to the list for not only being the first genuinely slick action flick of Bollywood, but also because it brought back memories of a Shahrukh Khan we didn’t despise. Don 2, despite its slow pacing and rather humdrum plot, worked rather gloriously because the Don himself got to deliver some fun punchlines; wear masks of actors far more good looking than him and romance the girl with the sexiest pout in Asia, Priyanka Chopra. Looking back at the year, this is the only mega hit of 2011 that was actually fun to sit through.
4) Stanley Ka Dabba
This film should be much higher up, if only it wasn’t for the lack of its mainstream elements. Yet, this is a small-scale, simple and spectacular film that works as effectively in providing a refreshing twist to the poor state of children’s cinema in India as it does in tugging at the heartstrings without trying too hard. The Partho kid is rather neat, but his father, director Amole Gupte (the writer of Taare Zameen Par) is the one who takes the cake here. A must-see!
3) Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
This film is in our list because this is, by far, the best looking flick of the year, a tour-guide to Spain that unimpressively breezed through much frivolity and mush before taking off the covers and showing us a heart and a soul. This was mainstream, commercial cinema that had something to say — and while the underlying theme was rather stale — the packaging was pretty damn great. Katrina rode a bike all the way through Barcelona only to give a man a kiss, Hrithik Roshan stood opposite her to complete the fantastic looking pair and Farhan Akhtar rose above the role to truly give a heartfelt performance.
2) The Dirty Picture
First banned and then unbanned in Pakistan, this gutsy film is perhaps the most unforgettable feature film of the year. The rigorously censored version in Pakistani theatres should be given a miss. This one is to be seen at home, late at night when kids and parents have been put to sleep. Revolving around a vulgar little South Indian item girl, The Dirty Picture is far braver an achievement than Delhi Belly — another push-the-envelope feature — simply because it uses a female to forward the theme. And what a female she is! Vidya Balan — a genuine actor revelling in her onscreen glory with such remarkable glee — is the one reason why this film is so high up on this list. Trendsetting stuff!
1) Rockstar
Take a bow, ladies and gentlemen. In a year when Aamir was absent, Hrithik was sleepy, Shahrukh and Salman were busy baking blockbuster recipes; one guy stood up and showed them all who the real daddy of performance is. Ranbir Kapoor and this realistic story of music, love and pain are not stuff that Bollywood is used to. Kapoor is a superstar and a spectacular actor who knows how to pull off both sides of him at the same time.

Actress Priyanka Chopra has been very busy of late, first promoting Don 2 and now Agneepath, but she still manages to look fresh. The actress asserts that she doesn’t stress easily.
“Not really. It’s easy to make me upset but not to stress me out,” said the 29-year-old.
Next year is expected to be equally hectic for Priyanka who is working in Barfee, Teri Meri Kahaani and Krrish 2. Source
