Rani Mukerji has revealed that Aamir Khan, her co-star in Ghulam, had nicknamed her ‘Engine’!

Despite trying thrice, either Rani would fall on Aamir or Aamir would fall on her. Finally, Aamir decided that Rani must be called ‘engine’, the actress revealed on the show, said a source.

As per sources there are few interesting tales attached with the film’s journey. It is said that both the actors are fun loving and used to have a gala time on the sets. While shooting for stunts, where Aamir was to run in front of a train, Rani used to enjoy watching him do the dare-devil stunts. Gossips monger says these two happen to be the coolest co-stars ever seen at box-office, which apparently created huge fan-following just after the movie got released.

Rani Mukerji rose to fame with Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and their association has continued since then, so much so that Karan regards Rani as one of his lucky mascot. Now that the duo are working on Karan’s short film which is part of the feature ‘Bombay Talkies’, a tribute to the centenary year of Indian Cinema, we hear that Rani is all set to play a journalist again.

Earlier Rani had played a journalist in No One Killed Jessica, for which she got tremendous accolades, and no wonder Karan is confident she will pull off the role yet again really well. In the film which is slated for release on May 3, Rani and Randeep Hooda, play a married couple. The short film also features Saqib Saleem.

Comedian Bharti Singh to perform Belly dance live. Well the actress also gladly accepted the challenge.
Earlier Bharti had also posed such a challenge to Katrina Kaif on another reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 and now she did the same with Rani. Both of them shook their belly to the song Aga bai from Aiyyaa.
Well Rani has also performed a Lavani number in Aiyyaa which releasing on 12th October.

We hear Rani Mukerji will be paying tribute to Sridevi in her new film Aiyya. So as we spotted few pictures of Rani wearing a transparent raincoat, three-fourth denims attached to cool suspenders and a funky hat, shooting at an outdoor location, we wondered if the Bong babe would be able to bring her goofy self to the fore, just the way Sridevi did in Chaalbaaz.

Well, the answer is that that lady is aiming at paying a tribute to the yesteryear diva in her own sweet style. It is also being said that Rani wants to work on the marketing of the film as soon as possible without wasting any time. It is because she doesn’t want the surprise element of Aiyya to come her way. Other than the tribute element, Aiyya is said to have many surprise elements for the viewers and audience would get to see Rani in a complete new avatar. Kareena was shooting a music video with Aamir Khan — for the film Talaash — over the weekend, during the night at Famous Studios. On the second night, one of Bebo’s main outfits got been damaged in the rains. And since filming was underway, they couldn’t have cancelled the shoot.

Later, when the styling team checked out the clothes, they realised that one of Bebo’s main outfits had been damaged in the rains. “And since filming was underway, they couldn’t have cancelled the shoot,” adds the insider.

As a result, co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani (of Excel Entertainment) immediately called up a couple of his friends and checked as to who could open the showroom at that time, since it was around one am.

Realising there was no other way out producer Ritesh Sidhwani made some quick, frantic calls and two of his friends decided to oblige by opening the shutters of their shop at 1 am. Whoa, what dosti!

“Manisha Jaisingh and Nandita Mathani, stepped in and opened the showroom at 1 am in night,” a feathered friend revealed. And that’s when the stylist rushed to pick the required clothes from the stores. Phew! It must’ve been a night to remember for the store owners and the stylist, no?

Looks like finally Aamir Khan has set the ball rolling on his upcoming film with Reema Kagti. Earlier, there was news how Aamir apparently wanted to re-shoot certain portions of the film as he was not happy with the final cut. However, director Reema and the co-producers were unwilling to make further changes, as the project was already running behind the original schedule.

Aamir Khan wanted to reshoot some shots of the film which aggravated Reema and the consequences were affecting flick’s final release. However, Aamir recently denied any such allegations by saying, “I would like to clarify that Talaash is releasing as planned on November 30. Over the last few weeks I have noticed that there have been some attempts to spread rumors about the film. Clearly someone is not very happy with the way it is progressing, and I can assure that that someone is not anyone from our team. Reema, Farhan, Ritesh, and I are very happy with the way Talaash has turned out.”

Whereas one of the birdies said, “Everyone knows how meticulous Aamir Khan is as a planner. He wouldn`t let any of his projects not have his attention or his time.”

South superstar Prithviraj, whose maiden Hindi film starring opposite Rani Mukerji, is yet to be released, has already taken huge strides in Bollywood. Rumour has it that his second Bollywood film will be for the prestigious Yash Raj Films headed by Yash Chopra and Rani’s ‘good friend’ Aditya Chopra.

It’s hazel-eyed actress Rani Mukerji’s birthday today! According to the reports, the actress has no big plans for her birthday celebration and will apparently keep the day simple, probably spending some quality time with family and close friends.

Rani, who turned 34 today, made her acting debut with RAJA KI AAYEGI BARAAT in 1997. However, the actress shined at the big screen after the success of Shahrukh Khan, Kajol starrer KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI, for which Rani won the Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actress.

Known for her brilliant performances, Rani has some classic films like YUVA, VEER ZARA, BLACK and NO ONE KILLED JESSICA under her belt. And now, the diva is gearing up for her upcoming suspense thriller TALAASH opposite Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Rani Mukerji is apparently wondering why she was given the award for Best Supporting Actress, when her role in No One Killed Jessica was as important as that of Vidya Balan’s.
