Shilpa Shetty’s kid-sister, Shamita Shetty, after not being able to find a foothold in Bollywood, has decided to take off to London to in search of another calling.
Reveals Shilpa, “Shamita is now entering another phase in her life and career. She is now heading to London for a six-month course in interior designing. We all felt this was the right move for her to make.”
Significantly, Shamita moves to another career at a time when Shilpa herself has taken a sabbatical of sorts from acting. However, in her case, it is voluntary. More
Bollywood’a Sharara girl Shamita Shetty felt disappointed that Shilpa Shetty held her engagement with Raj Kundra when she was locked up inside Bigg Boss house. She was very much enthusiastic about Shilpa’s engagement and was highly upset to hear the news. “I was really sad to hear that Shilpa was doing this when I was in a reality show and could not get out of there to attend the event. Shilpa’s wedding is a cherished moment for the family and that includes me too. It’s going to happen just once and so I did not want to miss out on anything. I felt really horrible and disappointed that I missed her engagement,” revealed Shamita.
Shilpa could not postpone her engagement as the day was auspicious and for that she had apologized to Shamita, “She sent me a sweet handwritten letter in which she apologised to me by saying sorry many times. I cried a lot after reading the letter because I knew she wanted to wait for me but the circumstances made her go ahead with the engagement. I have forgiven her for making me sad,” she said.
Shamita added, “I wanted to spend every single day with her and I really broke down. I was thinking that I was throwing away the days I should be with her by being in a reality show. She would get married and go to London and then I won’t be able to see her when I want to. I wanted to spend as much time as possible with her. Shilpa has already organised people who will help me out with my wedding dress and other things. He met the younger Shetty just once before the IPL.
They spent time during early post-win celebrations while in South Africa. Since then, they’ve bonded and kept in touch. The actress is familiar with Shane’s colourful past and is wisely keeping her distance.” Sources claimed Shane was seen cosying up to Shamita at a South African nightclub. When the media got wind of it and landed up there, Shamita took the back exit and left.
On her link-up with Shane, she insists, “I’ve interacted with him only three times.” About being seen at a club with him, she retorts, “It was a match-win party where all my friends and family were present and so were the RR players, Warne included. I wasn’t there with him all alone.” Source
One of the hottest diva of bollywood Shamita Shetty’s hotel room in South Africa was ransacked by baboons. Shamita, who is accompanying her sister, actress Shilpa in South Africa, was on a safari in Singita Game Reserves with Shilpa and her beau Raj Kundra and some ‘close friends and family in toe’.
It’s been a great weekend. Shamita loved every bit of it till she went to her room and discovered her room was ransacked by the Baboons… apparently they knew where the mini bar is and we were warned when we checked in to keep all doors locked when we leave the room…Obviously someone didn’t listen,’ Shilpa posted on her blog on Sunday.

Shamita’s pride possessions are a pair of solitaire earrings and a bracelet. “I can never ever think taking off my pair of solitaire earrings. The earrings are my perpetual companions.”
Shamita is deeply attached to her bracelet too. “The bracelet embellished with diamonds has a number of tiny shaped items hanging on it like, a small bag, a ball, a shoe and a tiny tennis racket. It is my cutest possession. I also love diamond studded watches and have a collection of them too. I have sunglasses embellished with diamonds and crystals that I wear often,” she smiles.

You must have heard about the model turned actors a lot, but we bring to you a fashion designer turned actor. Shamita Shetty has acquired a degree in fashion designing ? The actress, before embarking on films full time, had planned to pursue a career as a fashion designer. She had even completed a degree course in fashion designing at Mumbai’s SNDT College and was student the college faculty was proud of.
A class mate revealed, “Shamita used to give her 100% to the projects she undertook as a fashion designer. She was brilliant at mixing and matching fabrics and would have definitely been an asset to the fashion world.”
Fabrics of varied hues, printed designs and playing with ideas and giving it a creative expression was something Shamita always felt passionately about. Seems that bollywoos is flooded with directors and new producers. Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty, who’s also turned producer now, has signed on filmmaker Manish Jha of ‘Matrubhoomi’ fame to direct her first home production that will go on the floor in November.
Talking about her future plans, Shilpa said: ‘I plan to produce a lot of movies that I may not be a part of. I’m also planning to re-launch my sister Shamita.
‘Shamita will not be part of the first project, but I am thinking of a film for her too. The second film will be for Shamita.’ ‘Now I am concentrating on quality films and have become choosy about subjects. My last release was ‘Life… in a Metro’ and ‘Apne’ and after that now I am doing ‘The Man’, ‘ she explained.
Shilpa will also be seen in a special role in Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana’. ‘Besides, I am very happy to perform in London – the place which has given me so much, ‘ she added. The star-studded world tour featuring superstars like Amitabh, Abhishek, Aishwairya, Preity Zinta, Riteish Deshmukh and music directors Vishal-Shekhar will kick off July 18 at Toronto. Source
