Well it’s finally confirmed. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra will tie the knot this November. The wedding which is scheduled for the 22nd of this month will surprisingly be devoid of the usual Bollywood friends and glitter. However, two days after the actual wedding reception, Shilpa will be hosting another party for her colleagues from the industry, while the marriage itself is to be conducted at her business partner Kiran Bawa’s farmhouse in Khandala. Shilpa’s sister who missed the engagement ceremony while being locked away in the Bigg Boss house apparently might also miss the wedding as the show isn’t scheduled to end till the date. The 34-year-old beauty, who catapulted to international fame after winning the ‘Big Brother’ show in UK, is learnt to have roped in fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani to design her wedding trousseau. Tarun admits he’s been asked by Shilpa to design her wedding dress, but he refuses to reveal what he plans to create for the actress.

When asked if he would design Shilpa’s dresses for the mehendi and sangeeth ceremonies as well, Tarun gave a terse reply. “I’ll design everything!” he said without elaborating.

The slim beauty Shilpa Shetty got engaged to London-based businessman Raj Kundra in Mumbai on Saturday. The ceremony was a personal affair and was held at Raj’s Juhu residence in Mumbai. The 34-year-old actress was wearing a pink sari designer by film industry’s favourite designer Manish Malhotra. However, she will be wearing Tarun Tahiliani’s outfits for all other functions of the wedding.

“I can’t talk about the details of the outfits but I can tell you that she will look absolutely stunning,” Tahiliani told IANS on the sidelines of his show at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) in the Capital on Saturday.
Asked about the number of outfits he will be designing for Shilpa, Tahiliani said: “I’ll design everything”. The designer has earlier had Shilpa as his showstopper for two fashion events – but her appearance in a heavy lehenga choli at the HDIL India Couture Week last year is etched in many people’s mind. Bollywood queen Shilpa Shetty is observing a ‘mauna vrat’ (vow of silence) as part of a wellness course that she is pursuing in Oneness University on the outskirts of Chennai and says it helped her to connect with herself. “I’ve taken out some ‘me’ time. I have been so busy with people, things and attaining my goals that I had forgotten about myself. This place has helped me get in touch with myself. You must be intrigued how… well right now am doing a mauna, that is, where I am not allowed to talk to anyone, so practicing that, it’s difficult but enjoying it,” Shilpa posted on her blog.

“Not allowed to take any calls… could only check my emails,” she added.

The 34-year-old actress, who is a fitness and spirituality freak, says she seeks solace there in the company of her gurus — Amma and Bhagvan. “I follow their advice blindly, and it’s made a huge difference in my life, work and relationships,” she said. Shilpa has gone there for a special course to rejuvenate herself after a “hectic six months”.

“This silence is so rare to find in our fast paced lives. It just comforts. There are no luxuries and that makes you value everything that you have. It’s also a cleansing process, which I feel we all need from time to time. The beauty is that the process is a spiritual journey without preaching. “I would prescribe this place for anyone who needs a break and a different and positive way to living life,” she said. Source

Shilpa Shetty has revealed that she has a slightly obsessive compulsive personality which has been riled by the outbreak of swine flu in India. The actress said that she is taking extra precautions to ensure she does not catch the illness, noting that bad health can be one of the worst things for a performer.

She told The Times of India: “I strongly believe in the adage that prevention is better than cure. Also, one never knows what’s going to strike when. It’s better to get something diagnosed in its early stages.”

Shetty added that she tries to rest as much as possible and watches what she eats in order to remain in good health.

“During the IPL, I was a mess,” the star admitted. “‘We need to recuperate and take it a little easy. But the fast pace and lots of exciting work gets my adrenaline rushing.” Source

Bollywood bombshell Shilpa Shetty has spoken out against allegations that she is a ‘marriage-breaker’, saying she started a relationship with her fiance Raj Kundra only after he got divorced. Shilpa, 33, found fame in Britain when she appeared alongside late British reality TV star Jade Goody in Celebrity Big Brother and won the series. She met millionaire Kundra, 34, shortly afterwards.

Kundra was separated when he met Shilpa, but his estranged wife Kavita publicly blamed the actress for the break-up of the marriage. “It actually made me feel physically ill. To be called a marriage-breaker was the worst thing possible. It brought such shame on to my parents, and I felt so bad for their sake,” the Daily Mail online quoted her as saying.

“To be honest, I think I was in love with Raj from day one but I was in denial. I made it clear to him that our relationship could go no further than friendship until he actually had his divorce,” she added. Source
