Actress Sonali Bendre is set for her comeback with Ekta Kapoor’s “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2″, and says she is so comfortable with the team that she feels as though she’s returning home.
“It’s a great role. With the film it feels like I’m coming home since Shobha Kapoor has been (my husband) Goldie’s very close family friend,” Sonali, married to filmmaker Goldie Behl, said in a press statement.
“Additionally, Ekta is a creative genius and has an amazing story sense, so I trust her judgment on this. I’ve also worked with Milan (Luthria) before. So it’s a very comfortable space,” she added.
“Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2″ is a sequel to the 2010 film “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai” (OUTIM).

Asked what prompted her to take up the assignment, Sonali replied,

The one time seductive actress Sonali Bendre, famous for her roles in movies like Sarfarosh and Hum Saath Saath Hai, got a rude shock on Thursday evening when Kolkata Police prevented her from inaugurating a lounge bar housed in an illegally constructed shopping mall in the city.
A short while after Bendre reached the venue inside a shopping mall, police told the actress that the function could not go ahead and escorted her out to her vehicle. The police also asked all those present to vacate the place and closed down all the shops and other establishments in the mall.
A top Kolkata Municipal Corporation official later said the illegal portions of the building will be demolished. Source

Reality television is not new to Sonali. She was earlier seen in Kya Masti Kya Dhoom and Mr and Mrs. Sonali will be judging Indian Idol, along with Anu Malek, Javed Akhtar and Kailash Kher. As the hit singing show premieres tonight, Sonali chats with Patcy N.
How did you bag Indian Idol?
When I judged Mr and Mrs for Sony Entertainment Television, it was like a dry run. I enjoyed my experience of working with them. So when they approached me for Indian Idol, I decided to do it. Also, the people in [production house] Miditech know my sister very well, so there was a comfort level. I’m too lazy to step out of my comfort zone.
Did you travel extensively for the Indian Idol auditions?
I went to most parts of India. But I did not go to London, as my child is only three years old. I was apprehensive of leaving him behind. But I went to Dubai, as it was a shorter flight. Source
It wouldn’t be difficult to recollect the pretty face of the long lost actress- Sonali Bendre. Bidding goodbye to films after marriage with Goldie Behl, the gorgeous damsel just vanished from the silver screen. The news is that the actress would be seen again on camera after cameo in Kal Ho Naa Ho.
But, there’s a twist in the tale. This time the actress would be wearing a judge’s hat in the most popular reality show on television- Indian Idol 4. It also seems like the actress is making special preparations for her appearance on the small screen, like making her hair a little, or to be more precise, very short. What more?
