Not many know that Zarine Khan loves bikes. Her favourite past time is not to ride pillion but in control of it. While on a road trip to Goa recently, the actress had the thrill of riding it on the highway.

Says a source, `She learnt how to ride a bike when she was in college and has loved it ever since. Riding on the Goa-Mumbai road was a big high for her.

Khan, who has also garnered recognition from her item number, Character Dheela from the second highest grossing Bollywood film of 2011 Ready, is also keen to own a sports bike. Source added, “But she is having a hard time convincing her family to let her. They think she is a tomboy.”

Incidentally Salman Khan who launched Zarine in B-Town also has a penchant for zooming around Bandra’s bylanes on a bike late nights. Wonder if she rode pillion with the star?

When criticism came her way for being a tad over weight in her debut film VEER, Zarine Khan took this matter to her heart and made sure that she worked towards shedding off all the extra baggage that she had put on herself. Resultantly she got herself into a much fitter and better shape in HOUSEFULL 2 so that there wasn’t room for any more criticism in that direction.

”Criticism did hurt but I did take that all in my stride,” smiles Zarine, ”I understood that to be a leading lady in Bollywood, I have to get into a better shape. So today you would see an all new me in HOUSEFULL 2. I am happy to be playing this super-hot glamorous girl and though I don’t want to blow my own trumpet, I for sure am looking forward to audience reaction. In case my songs like ‘Right Now’ and ‘Do You Know’ have fetched me good response. Now I want to see how audience looks at me in the entire film.”

For Zarine it wasn’t an easy task though to shed weight overnight. Due to her basic body structure, there was continuous effort that she had to put and it was only after weeks of intensive workout that she had managed to convince Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala that she was the right girl for the part. Director Sajid Khan, whose third directorial venture Housefull 2 is ready to hit the screens, says he is confident the film will be a blockbuster as he makes films by placing himself in the audience’s seat.

“Only a good film will work. If my film is not good then it will not work beyond Monday. But I can say it with a lot of confidence that this film (‘Housefull 2′) is a blockbuster. I am not saying this because this is my film but because I have made this film according to the audience. Every film I make, I make it as an audience,” the 40-year-old said here at a promotional event for “Housefull 2″.

Sajid Khan says it’s the family audiences that make a film a hit. “The day my film does not work, then no matter how many tie ups I do, it will not work at all. It will work when you people go and watch it with your family,” he said. More

Zarine Khan is tired of the constant talk about her uncanny resemblance to fellow actress Katrina Kaif and feels that media should get over it. She also shot down reports of wearing a bikini in the upcoming comedy “Housefull 2″.

“Housefull 2″ is her second full-fledged film after “Veer” and it is being directed by Sajid Khan.

“The first schedule of ‘Housefull 2′ is over. It was fun. I’m really looking forward to the next schedule,” Zarine, who was the show stopper for Divya K. Ahuja at the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), told reporters here.

The star is also training hard towards a more toned and fit body for her forthcoming film Sajid Nadiadwala’s HOUSEFULL 2.

Talking about the military boot camp Yasmin has put her through Zarine says, “Every morning, I do pilates for an hour and weight training thrice a week with Yasmin Karachiwala. I also do some swimming and jogging and eat every two hours to increase my metabolic rate. Sweets and fried food are strict no.”

If sources are to be believed, recently Salman pulled some strings, convincing director Anees Bazmee to bring Zarine on board, for a small appearance in Ready. Zarine, accompanied by actor turned producer, Arbaaz Khan, flew down to Bangkok, last week to shoot the cameo with Salman, in Pattaya.

Bazmee confirmed to a leading daily, “It’s a small scene. We needed Arbaaz and Zarine. Salman’s equation with them made it easy for us to get them to agree to do the scene.”

A source said, “Salman felt Zarine is being left behind for no fault of hers.

The beautiful Zarine Khan, who made her acting debut opposite Salman Khan in Veer, says she owes a lot to the star whom she doesn’t hesitate to call her mentor. “I am here because of Salman Khan. He is my mentor who discovered me and gave me my first Bollywood break. He has always been very supportive and I owe a lot to him,” said Zarine. “I never thought that I would become an actress. I wanted to become a doctor, but destiny had something else in store for me. I am happy with the way my life is shaping up,” she added.

Here comes the cat lady Zarine Khan. She has an express fondness for cats. Reportedly, a certain feline called “Softy” is the prime pet of her life.

Apparently, the ‘Veer’ babe had found the cat in a rather fragile state. On rushing it to the vet, Khan learnt that malnutrition and weak bones had resulted in the cat’s ill health.

Admitting it to an animal hospital, Khan visited Softy every single day of the month. However, she was pained to be dissuaded by docs stating that Softy’s chances of survival were rather dismal.

A determined Khan decided to walk barefoot from her residence to a famous ‘dargah’ to obtain some divine assistance for her pet. Source
